the new wave arrived at my TRU today

I got there and none had been snatched up yet!

but I only had money for bullseye/moonstone.

what kind of movies do you guys prefer? what are a few of your favorites?

I strongly prefer horror, whether it be slasher, splasher, or just a plain old-fashioned spooky flick.

but I also enjoy comedies, and pretty much any movie ahhnold appears in (king of the one-liner?)

my top 5 would have to be:

1.)american psycho

2.)the re-animator

3.)battle royale (japanese film)

4.)se7en

5.)hot fuzz

I can't get enough of these movies.

I live in a major area and I could list about 10 places where Spidey could easy swing from. the rest are just too low and he would end up hitting the floor.

it's a reasonable option to have. I played the punisher game for ps2 and there was alot of out-of-place cursing in that game. there was alot of gore, but hey, I like gore. I wouldn't censor that, just the gratuitous language. it felt, to me, like they were showing off the fact that they could curse in the game. other than that, I haven't seen much in games that I would care to censor.

See that the thing 2-4 sold out at all the shops you go too. But apparently it went into a bit of a lull after Secret Invasion. Sales started to pick up again but it looks like it's too late to save it.

black knight needs a home now too. I only really only got to read the first issue, as issues 2-4 sold out like hotcakes at the shops I go to. but I enjoyed what I had read in that issue. since then i've been following it on wikipedia... but it, uh... isn't the same.

Honestly I do not love X-Men. I am a casual fan, meaning I know the movies and the Ultimate series. Never got into 616. Maybe to a fan like you who hated the movies, this one deserved nothing. But to a die-hard fan who loved the movies, this one is recommended. And if you don't know characters like Gambit or Blob or especially Deadpool, this movie should not be watched. Now people here may laugh at the idea of not knowing Gambit, Deadpool, or Blob, but there are people who only know X-Men by the films and those characters were not in the other movies. And honestly, I do not think that these guys were given the greatest introduction nor were their backstories explained well enough. Well, maybe Gambit was, but the others no. A personal example was Agent Zero. I did not know who the guy was because he was never in the Ultimate comics (as far as I know) and I honestly didn't get anything about him other than he was a total and complete asshole. Same with John. The only reason I knew he was called Kestrel was because you guys told me. He didn't get a good intro and he wasn't in Ultimate (not at he was depicted here at least. he was, but he was totally different.) so I still, after seeing the movie, don't know much about him.

So it's only for fans because non-fans would get lost.

maybe, but maybe not. I mean, anyone who saw ANY of the animated series knows who gambit is at very least. and most people I know who know "enough" about comics (or at least the toys) thought john wraith was supposed to be nightcrawler

but other than that, you don't HAVE to know who all the characters are to go see the movie.

most of the people who I went with to see x-2 with didn't even know who colossus was, and thought william stryker was made up! but they all loved the movie.

and you at least read SOME x-titles, which puts you ahead of the curve regarding the movie-going public

Some of the best superhero action I've ever seen was in that last section of Wolverine. But it's a theatrical viewing movie only for die-hard X-Men fans. I'm a casual fan and I'd probably been better off just waiting for DVD.

I disagree. I LOVE x-men, and have since I could read. and I think those x-men movies are abominations.

alot of my friends watched a few episodes of the animated series as kids and thought they were "fans" going into the movies. sorry if I see it differently but I can honestly say none of them knew who any of the characters were BEFORE the cartoon. I was already very familiar with them by the time the TAS had began (I think I was 5?), except for jubilee of course

I agree that the line needs more diversity. DST's current dabbling in Cosmic Marvel was a great move. I'd love to see them explore more of the uncharted areas like parallel universes (Age of Apocalypse, MC2... Ultimate, of course), international teams (Alpha Flight, Marvel UK), maybe the paranormal stuff (I'd really like to see how they'd update Blade), surely all you comic geniuses can come up with more areas in dire need of attention...

Personally I'm optimistic that maybe we might see Medusa and Crystal as standalone mates in a wave or themed boxset

at least crystal has other opportunities to be a mate... I mean, she was briefly in the fantastic four and the avengers. she's a "bigger deal" than pretty much any of the other inhumans, and, in my opinion, she's got a better chance of being made

but if I got my vote it'd be for a crystal/ronan the accuser pack

I haven't thought about him much before, and don't know squat about his character (except that he figured prominently in an issue of Marvel Fun and Games that I had as a kid), but I think Jack of Hearts would make for a great Minimate.
