Well poll #2 is definitely a lot better than poll #1. This was a very hard decision for me. I ended up going with Black Knight and Winter Solider. I want a modern Luke Cage but I didn't like the pic they posted. I'd rather have Classic Falcon. I have no idea who Songbird/Mockingbird is. I really want a Banshee but I'm sure they'll get around to him at one point. I would like a Steve Rogers but I'd rather have the others before him.

Does this wave come with the new smaller stands?

While I'm happy we finally got Kang, I'm less than pleased he's the only "new" figure in a 4-pack! The other 3 aren't different enough from their wave 43 counterparts, so it really feels like being gouged to have to rebuy them just to get Kang. The other set is a slightly better value but there are still 2 more repeats! I feel ripped off having to pay $40 for essentially 3 new figures and 5 repeats, especially when I have so many Cap, Thor & Iron Men too similar to these already. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
The worst part is I had planned on buying multiples of Kang, but not at these prices with the 3 other mates in the pack.
You could have bought them for $15 when they first arrived online at the Disney store. We posted the codes for 20% off and free shipping. Also, if you have too many extras of the bigger names, just give them away to kids. I plan on unloading all of my doubles/triples to my girlfriend's little cousins that are into legos. Maybe that'll bring in more fans.

Who is this Gideon character that everyone is talking about now? The only thing I can think of is that lame X-Men figure from the early 90's with I want to say a pony tail and a briefcase?
-
Yeah, I'm glad we got that first poll out of the way. None of those versions of those characters were ones that I wanted so that poll was a little disappointing for me. Bring on the other polls!

The boxed set was fine for what it was. Can't speak for anyone else, I passed because I just don't care for the designs to begin with.
Yeah, I never picked them up either. Not a huge fan of their new gear but my not buying a set was because of Sue. I would go track a set down if they ever release a non invisible Sue to complete the team.

So...these might be the fastest selling Toys R Us Minimates ever. This is the first series that I saw go to 2 shelfs to 1/2 within a few days.
-
Haha, didn't know if anyone would get the reference. I'm an indy wrestler and have been on a few shows with him over the past 10 years so I'm glad he's finally becoming a star! I was doing the entire celebration when my order went through.

YES! YES! YES! 20% off plus free shipping! Finally getting KANG!
-
The part swaps would be with newer figures. I guess I'll try the ole warm water and small screwdriver trick.
-
(Not sure if this is the right place for this question but I'll give it a shot anyways.)
I'm not a fan of painting figures to make fix-ups or customs so I always try to use official Minimates parts that are available. I know most of the parts of Minimates are easy to swap out but what about the knee joints? Has anyone ever tried that? And if so, is there a special way to do it so I don't destroy it. I want to make a fix-up using the upper leg of one figure and the lower leg of another figure but I just want to make sure I'm not going to break a figure before I try it.
-
My favorites are:
Spider-Hulk
Bag-Man
Spider-Man Noir
Spider-Lizard (only if they redo the Lizard head so we can buy 2 and swap it out with the other Lizard figure)

Well, someone out there deserves some bad Karma. I went to my local TRU today and saw that someone had opened up a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Iron Man/Arthur and a First Appearance Ryu/Sentinel minimate set and stole the Iron Man and Sentinel from the packs and tried to hide the other two mates in their plastic containers behind some DC Universe set on the bottom shelf. I pointed it out to a TRU employee who took care of it and thanked me.
Seriously...you can't pay the $7-8 for the sets because you don't want the other minimates?
Can I get that Ryu at a discount then?

My ideal wave would be:
Blob/Toad
Pyro/Avalanche
Banshee/Forge
Mojo/Sauron
A little X-men heavy, I know, I know. I also wouldn't mind these 8:
Steve Rogers
Winter Soldier
Falcon
Speedball
Deathlok
Classic Punisher
Baron Zemo
Mystique remake
-
Your display looks nice. I like what you did with Kitty!
-
Any updates on the Minimates SDCC exclusives yet? I just saw earlier today that Mattel released the info on all their exclusives.
-
I'm all for any of these becoming the next big want:
X-Men
Blob
Toad
Pyro
Avalanche
Mystique
Forge
Banshee
Other
Falcon
Baron Zemo
Doc Samson
Classic Punisher

I was a little upset when I first saw all the repeats with these reveals but I think it's actually a better deal. I'm going to skip Wave 44 entirely and just pick up these sets.
-
So I walked into my local TRU today and they FINALLY have Wave 12. A couple months too late TRU!
-
Yeah, I only know him from the games. I'm a Marvel fan and I know most of the characters from the Marvel Universe and I've never come across this guy outside of the game. I'm not heartbroken we never got him as a figure.
-
Ugh! Plastic Man is the one DC Mate that I wish they would have released. Two Face and Penguin look great but that Plastic Man is amazing! If only they would have replaced that Superman/Wonder Woman set and guys like Ambush bug.

So...all that hype for some jacked up Atlantean guards?
-
Please tell me the hat on the blue suit Hulk is removeable.

I'm kinda blown away that New Mutants is so close to being finished. Of all the line-ups from the X-Men's history, i really didn't think we'd see the New Mutants (or Excalibur) before the completion of X-Force, 90's Blue & Gold X-men,or 90's X-Factor.
Who are we missing from the 90's Blue & Gold X-men teams? I'm pretty sure we already have everyone from both of those teams.

So are there three hints out there so far:
1. Bananas
2. 1980's
3. I think I remember hearing someone saying something about how no humans are involved?
Is this just for the SDCC Exclusive or a whole new line?
