Ask DST #352: Minimates

Hello! With the announcement of DC Vinimates, I’ve got to ask: What do we have to do to get DC Mnimates? Spam DC Collectibles? Buy the hell out of the DC Vinis? Tell us, and we’re gonna do it. I mean, this is our chance to get them back, right? You’ve got the comics, film, game and TV show licenses. All we need now is minis of them. Don’t get me wrong, the Vinis look cool and all, but the Minimates are where it’s at. Thanks for taking the time to read my question and answer it!

DSTChuck: There are no plans for DC Minimates now or in the future. Sorry, I think that time has passed. 

I've seen some of the Mega Construx stuff around and I was wondering what it is.  Thanks for the info!

Go check out the Minimate Database.  I'm looking forward to the 4-packs and Toy Fair exclusive!  

I'm not familiar with most of those characters but I'm interested to see what Donald and Goofy look like.

I'm not a fan of any of these.  That Spidey in the top right looks like Deadpool in a hood.

Let me know if anyone is trying to tracking down the F4 from Series 48.

Well that's a bummer.  I don't really have any interest in the APC or Space Jockey but I was looking forward to the Dropship.

I put together an Xavier fix-up a while back but I wouldn't mind an updated Xavier or Magneto.

p.s.  I think I have an extra hoverchair Xavier/Warpath if someone needs that one.

So it sounds like we're down to some sort of combination of:

Toad / Marvel Girl / green Quicksilver / Prof. X / Magneto / Juggernaut

I really hope Toad and Marvel Girl are in.  I'd be okay with a green Quicksilver but I feel like it might be Prof. X and Magneto to add some more star power to the set.

I'm interested to see what the Xenomorphs end up looking like.

Is there a TRU wave for these too?

That comment was in response to my joke that DST would make a Brotherhood of Evil Mutants set without Toad.  He, rather famously, was included on the original Marvel Minimates poster and is the last remaining character from that image not to be 'mated. That's also where Zach mentioned it being the 15th anniversary of Minimates, which makes me think that, yes, this set will probably include Toad. 

Hahaha, I know. I got your Toad joke and was hoping that Zach's comment implied that Toad is indeed one of the four for the box set.  I thought it would be funny to include that as an official hint.

Now I really want to see a Toad 'mated?  ...Did it just get weird?!

Other hints from Zach:

"Box Set is one new classic character, two never-made classic costumes and one requested update, I think. Title-specific."

"Hellpop doesn't get it".

It sounds like either ozymandias or fwoosheyman might be the 3/4 correct.
