I would have used "the figures" left or right, so I would have failed the internet...
Yeah, good idea, but youbastards' definition is exactly opposite of what I (and most collectors I know) would have used, which then confused me. Always it is the figure's left or right.
-
Bingo! Thanks for the pointer, sir! Found them right where you suggested and got what I needed.
-
Crap. I haven't even seen Series 4 in the wild yet...
-
I placed an order for these on 9/14 and its been listed as "pending" ever since, cant
get anyone to answer emails or the phone but of course my CC was billed
right off. and im in WA state, the company is
listed as being just a few towns away. 19 miles away! WTF!!!!!!!!!Yeah, something's screwy with your order -- got mine within ten days of ordering. Your advantage is that you can drive to their offices and ask what's going on.
And Matt: when the hell did you move to Washington?
-
...harder. Definitely harder.
-
To start: YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GET ALL OF THESE MINIMATES!
Happy, happy Cappy dance!
Erik, I am already on the Paizo email list -- will you also announce when the 'Mates come online via the mailing list?

Having raised three kids into young adulthood: I would rate Guardians as okay for your 5-year-old on TV, but not in a theater. The theatrical impact is incredibly heavy on those little kids and there is a fair amount of violence in the movie (akin to Avengers). Perhaps most dangerous: near the end civilians (including kids) are put in danger (hope that's not a spoiler for you).
So yeah, my concern is not the graphic-ness of the violence, the but the impact the large screen would have a pre-schooler not used to such. My kids pretty much saw only Disney movies at that age. I remember we took them to Jumanji when they were tykes and we (the parents) had no fun -- the baby cried because of the volume, the 4-year-old got so freaked we had to leave half-way through and I'm pretty sure his older brother, while stoic, was glad for the excuse to bolt. So there's a measuring stick for you.

I guarantee it was Gamora. Curious indeed.
-
So now I'm confused. Gamora is not supposed to be at TRU? Because I am 100% certain I saw her in 2-pack just last weekend at the TRU in Bellevue, WA. I didn't know it was an aberration, so didn't take a pic or anything...

I've been moving the household this past couple of weeks and the number of toy pieces that have shown up as furniture is moved and closets emptied is surprising. So hang in there, fatcow, in a few years you could have a complete Lion-O again!

These are out in the Philippines already. Trek Kreon Wave 2.
And yes, that is a Salt Vampire Kreon.
A. Salt. Vampire.
Sweet! I'm thrilled they're steering away from JJ Abrams franchise.
Lobsterman, what was the retail price on the Class of 1984 set? Just so I know what how deep the eBay shark tank is that I'm diving into.

There was a time when Mega Bloks were cheap-o crap. But about the time Mega Brands got into Halo, they've worked to up their production value and that effort has paid off. While not quite the consistent quality of Lego, you won't be disappointed in the structural integrity of modern Mega Bloks.

Anyone who is not excited by this line, I'm very sorry. I don't play ANY video games, and I'm superjazzed.
I'm with you on that, Zach. Whatever the value of the game, the characters just look great.
-
Some of the sets are nonsensical, yes, but the chopper and the ring? Win! Isn't that what we Minimates collectors do, pick and choose from various lines to get what we need? In that respect, WWE Stackdown has been a good thing.

I have a pretty reasonable collection of Maschinen Krieger toys ,notably the early Nitto kits which I'd love to think that I could actually make '
The kubricks are nice but they're not as nice as some of the non-articulated stuff around .
Maschinen Krieger is addictive especially once you've got your head around what it' s all about .........tons of licences have nicked the idea .
But as Kubricks (since this is the Kubrick thread), Ma.Kub are my favorite Kubricks of all. Period. When they were new, they were reasonably easy to collect. And a Minimate head settled inside the armor looks great.
-
Technically not Kubrick-related, but robot mode here actually looks pretty great:
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=MED10909&mode=retail
If these were transforming Kubricks of some kind, I would probably buy them.
While they don't technically transform, I'm pretty damn sure the Be@rbrick does come apart and snaps into addintional parts to make the Autobot.
Those MA Kubricks are very nice. I think BHM has/had a fondness for those, but I may be mistaken.
I am seriously considering one of these Scopedog figures from Koto, but I am not sure of scale yet. http://www.hlj.com/product/kbykp-331
That is frakkin' cool. Looks like the mech is just over 4", which would put the pilots at roughly 2" (just eye-balling it, here). $30 for a 4" figure seems a lot, but I'm suspecting one will find its way into my collection. So thanks for that, Shane.

And then there is the fact that Ronald D Moore has directly said that BSG was born of DS9 and was his chance to explore things he wasn't able to in DS9. That's not really apples and kittens.
Ah. I did not know the shows had some producer overlap. I see now how one evolved of the other.
-
I would use a more appropriate analogy, that the dead leaves from the great, fully bloomed flower of DS9 were gathered up and haphazardly cobbled together into a pale imitation known as BSG.And when I watch it now, I see so many seeds that would eventually come to fruition in BSG.
Wait-a-minnit. Admittedly, I don't follow fan threads on the internet, but people are drawing parallels between DS9 and BSG? Other than them both being SF TV shows, I don't see how the relevance. It's like comparing apples and kittens.

When did this happen? From another thread, bold emphasis is mine:
It almost feels like Cosbabies were intended to rival Medicom's Kubrick line, and HT is very reactionary in this way (they clearly have taken up licenses and even types of figures based on an attempt to combat innovations by Enterbay). Now that the Kubricks are dead, I wonder if HT has even less incentive to keep producing Cosbabies, or if so, at a quality level that any discerning customers will want to pay for. -
Wasn't I around when that case started it's journey east across North America and then the Atlantic? Seems like it's working its way around the globe the long way.

I always thought caskets, or as PL says "A good ol' pine box" was more western, and a coffin was more European?
Okay, I'll concede this point to you. Coffins feel more Old World, not Old West.
-
A casket is a rectangle. A coffin has sloped sides.
Pretty sure this was a casket.
After Dinobot educated me on the difference, I had to go back and see in which the Bride was buried. And it's really hard to tell, there are no clear external shots of the box.
But in Dinobot's picture above, look just to the left of the flashlight beam: that's looks like a corner. There is also a hint of shape in this pic:
Besides, a coffin is more fitting considering the wild west theme of her segment with Bud.

It serves a dual use! Presumably the face would be hidden by the hugger when it was applied, but I'm sure the more OCD amongst us were smiling and nodding their heads at your post I remember someone was joking about making sure the eyes on slipover masks matched up with the eyes on the head underneath, but I don't think that was really a joke. That might be what his face looks like with an ovipositor shoved in it.
Yeah, that was me (many years ago). And it wasn't a joke. Just as one would never, ever, slip a facehugger over a pleasant, smiling head. (Hiphuggers, on the other hand...)
