  1. ...Ok i know im late to teh party but i really am starting to appreciate Iron Man minimates. I sincerely appreciate the direction they are taking MM's with figures like the Cylons and Iron Man figures.

Your IM's are all impressive but for some reason the simple color combo the Cap Armor boast keeps drawing my eyes. Impressive figure that one.....

  2. This might be exactly what your looking for ( a mini figure rocker with guitar in mid stroke):

    ROCK ON

Yeah, but these aren't exactly a whole line of Metalocalypse figures... these are just one or two figures out of a random blind-box lineup based on all the Adult Swim shows. The only other actual Metalocalypse line I know of is I think by Shocker Toys ( )

Crap... i just noticed the OP wanted a set that boasted more than 1 or 2 figures.

  3. Unbelievable Graham! What an amazing paint job! Is the mask sculpted from scratch or a modified piece?

Absolutely ! Credit where credit is due! There are good customs for sure but that Batman is a step beyond fantastic :)

I think that Dark Knight pushes the detail envelope as far as one can take it before actually adding sculpted body parts (which i personally prefer on most action figures) . Excellent work!

  4. I love Stikfas but ultimately i find Mates more "fun" as they are more sturdy in my opinion. I prefer the hinges (elbows / knees) as opposed to the ball joints in certain areas. The only feature that made me stay with stikfas for so long was the ball jointed elbow that, while looking out of place, at least allowed a bicep swivel motion.

Now that ive made arms with bicep swivel for my mates im planning on parting with the remainder of my stikfas.

If you need some..let me know lol.

  5. Just out of curiosity...was the " Member Thread" in the flea section method tried before?

I only ask as ...it seems like it would be far more efficient and easier to navigate. 1 thread per member only. Updates with haves / wants. Making more than 1 thread will get your original and new thread deleted..?

    Just curious..

  6. I recently noticed that the Zombie Luke Cage Minimate has sculpted "fingers" on its hands as opposed to the usual smooth hand (rounded).

Are these hand types the new standard or were they restricted to the Zombie set? I noticed the Hulk (zombie) has them as well and i think i see finger detail on Spiderman. The link below to the OAFE review site shows pictures of the Zombie set im referring to.

  7. Id like to thank Antacost for the inspiration. Long ago he created a Green Arrow custom figure that boasted one swivel bicep. That figure kept me from walking away from 'Mates. Ive *always* liked the idea of mini figures but only if they had the level of poseability that id come to expect being spoiled by GI Joes in the 1980's. Im sure im not the only one. Thanks again Antacost :)

I think ill modify a few to make them represent different fighting organizations.

  8. I came across these recently and while ive been aware of them for some time i hadnt seen them in person before.

I think Mega Bloks may have rounded the learning curve with this line. I had previously been a fan of the Pyrates line but not enough to purchase them at regular retail. The stumpy limbs didnt do it for me in comparison to Minimates.

I dont know if its the fact that this line has armor or if its different sculptors but the scale seems to be much more appropriate for armored knights. TO top it off the mini figs have an arm moving gimmick ala action attack with star wars or action features in the gi joe line BUT...BUT...it actually LOOKS good and doesnt detract from the figure itself i.e. if you choose not to use the gimmick the figure looks just fine (unlike a Hasbro's GI Joe Duke character that has had many butt plugs / action switches with different incarnations).

No they arent Minimates but they have a charm all their own that, IMO, takes them a step beyond Pyrates.

    Monty Python skits anyone?

    P.S.

I cant help but wonder why the Mega Bloks Spiderman mini figures look so bad when these look so good?
