  1. #1 honestly surprised me. They're a great villain, but after the recent movie success and almost an eternity of the character being praised, I was surprised that #2 didn't hold the #1 spot.

Out of all possible villains, some of the lower ranking ones didn't really strike me as that great. Seems like they were just looking for filler.

  2. I will say on the White Queen thing

Maybe her psychic powers are her secondary mutation?

That would be silly, considering she was well known for her psychic ability before she went all diamond.

Was Silver Fox supposed to not be First Nations in this movie? That's the only reason I can find it excusable to make Emma her sister. Otherwise, that sibling relationship was forced beyond hell and just made it seem like they were trying too hard.

  3. Mimic would be cool (especially if we could get an Exiles version of the character as a variant-- Proteus or normal). I'd also love to have the Hellfire Club in mate form. :)

Mystique's long overdue for a revamp, too. If we could get the leather outfit, that would be awesome!

  4. There was some mention that the power grafting was not a full success, so maybe he can "lose" the laser-eyes and the blade hands. I think a Deadpool movie could work with surprisingly little retconning.

Good point. As long as the powers are retconned, it deffinately has potential. :)

They could also expand on his background, which Wolverine really failed to do and explain how he got into Weapon X and all that jazz.

  5. For a character with such a detailed and interesting background, it's great that they took the time to gloss over it all for the sake of pointless character inclusion and explosions.

Was the Blob fight necessary to the plot at all? It just seemed like they were trying too hard.

    Thanks, Fox! :)

If they manage to pull off the Deadpool spin off, hopefully it retcons this crap.

  6. My Cap's mask was squished, oddly enough. It still fit, but when I take it off the bottom sort of moves inwards. Super odd, but as long as it doesn't affect the head, I have no complaints. After all, I've had no problems putting it on or taking it off. :)

  7. I rather enjoyed the Black Freighter/Under the Hood DvD. The animation was beautiful and it was much more enjoyable for me, seeing it as a whole, rather than scattered bits and pieces.

Under the Hood felt kind of slow at parts, but it was amusing to watch and had some really fun details about the Minute Men.

  8. I just got back from seeing Watchmen, and I've got to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not the best comic-movie, but certainly as good as one could expect (actually, a bit more than I expected) from the source-material. There seems to be some disapproval of certain violent moments (admittedly quite extreme), which in my opinion weren't gratuitous but rather essential to honestly depicting the brutality of the situations. A "shadow" (a sugar-coated technique easier on some viewers' gag-reflexes) would have been insulting and de-emphasized the fact that you should be horrified and disgusted...not cartoonishly-glorifying the act. Now *ahem*, as for the "swinging-penis", I applaud their bravery for the inclusion of this detail and believe that American-society needs to get over their immature shame of anatomy. He had become a cosmic-entity far removed from Human concerns and I think that this brilliantly conveyed that. B)

Agreed. I went in rather expecting some major censoring, but I was very much satisfied with the bravery of the film's content in relation to what it was in the comic. I can understand how it would bother people who may have not read the comic, but seriously. Why does it all have to be kittens and rainbows?

I know full well many people who hadn't read the comic were expecting something a lot more conventional of comic book super heroes. WELL, SURPRISE! Joke's on you.

  9. The cover is nice, but it really doesn't give out that Watchmen vibe that other tracks in the trailers and soundtrack have. I agree that the original is better.

Then again, it's just a bad song in general for the movie.

  10. That's an excellent SLJ likeness too.

I agree, I have no interest in 'the Ultimates' but I'm gonna get him to go with my movie Iron-Man mates

Same! I'm glad they're releasing one. As much as I understood why he probably wasn't included in the movie wave, it's great to see them make one anyways. :)

  11. I wasn't really much of a Cyclops fan until I read Whedon's Astonishing X-Men.

I can't wait to get that Deadpool!

I don't mean to pee in your cornflakes but whats so great about this Deadpool? He comes with some cool accessories but other than that hes just a guy with a red shirt. I just don't see the appeal. That pretty much goes for the whole wave. The Wolvie Through the Ages set looks much more interesting.

I'm a sucker for neat accessories, plus it's nice to see some exposure for a great character, even if it is abit simplistic. Perhaphs it's just my optimism? I can understand why some may not be impressed with it.

I agree, though, that the "Through the Ages" set seems more interesting.
