That glider looks absolutely wicked! Thanks for the pics.

HUGO WEAVING HAS BEEN CAST AS THE RED SKULL!!! I guess if you are going to make a geek property into a movie this is a step in the right direction.
This is damn cool. Weaving, I would have never expected, but it's a very pleasant surprise. Kind of makes me happy about this film despite biting my nails in anticipation for Cap's casting.
-
My work's invoice says we'll be getting them this week. I have my fingers crossed.
I love how DST's site still says they're expecting them out in February. OH YOU. <3

I was bracing myself for another round of Michael Keaton-esque disbelief suspension.
That at least lead us to some decent results. Krasinski was more on the Halle-Berry-as-Catwoman WTF level.
-
This movie's just looking better and better.

Scott Porter is the only one that I like for Cap. He's great in Friday Night Lights, and, yeah, he's a comic fan. I remember an open letter by him published in Wizard trying to get a Green Lantern project going or something. I like John Krasinski and would like to see him somehow in the Movieverse, but not as Cap. I can see him doing an interesting take on Ant Man.
Agreed, wholeheartedly. Porter's actually been decent on Caprica aswell.
Krasinski's great, but not Cap material.

We all knew there'd be a white lantern who'd step up and save the day at the end of Blackest Night... But I don't think anyone could've guessed who it is! All I'll say is it's not Hal.
I never would have guessed it to be
Sinestro
. Even in the pages leading up to it, I was so sure that the obvious would happen: Hal gets it and becomes the big damn hero who jumps in and makes the last issue fairly predictable. This, however, adds a more exciting element to it.
The real show stealers in this issue were totally Scarecrow and Lex. They had such great banter and action going on.

I'd recommend X-Force and Cable.
This has nothing to do with recommendations, but I've never been a big fan of X-Force, Cable, or Deadpool, and I finally realized that I think the first comic my little brother ever bought was New Mutants 87, after which he became a dedicated fan of Cable and all of those guys. I guess I kind of viewed Cable and X-Force as his territory, and it's just sort of stuck through the years.
That era was just terrible. Thankfully, the newer titles have very little to do with the past ones and the quality is much better now.

So I just got back into reading comics. I finished up 1602 and then Civil War, what should I read next? Ultimatum, Secret Invasion, Secret War, Deadpool 1-current, or something else? I want something that started recently that I could pick up all the copies for, or something in TPB. Preferably Marvel. I love Gambit, Punisher and Daredevil. (With a sweet spot for Deadpool and Nick Fury lol)
If you want to read anything modern X-Men, I recommend picking up the Messiah Complex trade paper back. Great story and it fills in a lot of blanks. After that, I'd recommend X-Force and Cable. I also second the motion that you check out modern X-Factor-- it's brilliant!
For Gambit, pick up X-Men Legacy. He shows up somewhere around the 2nd-3rd volume when the story centers Rogue more than Xavier.

Yeah, but Wolverine is still on the main team. Which would mean he's on two teams on two different coasts, one of those teams supporting multiple line up variations which he's inexplicably always a part of for multiple adventures every month, while leading a third team, and having globe spanning solo adventures. Don't get me wrong, I liked Wolverine at one point. But that's when it was possible to read a Marvel book without him in it.
And that's not even geting into my personal feeling that he's just not Avenger material... but then I still have this silly notion that Avengers don't kill.
I agree. Having him as an Avenger seems like only an excuse to sell that book. Hell, you only need him on the X-Force and the occassional uncanny roster and he does well enough. Frankly, it's been a relief having the Wolverine title focus more on Daken rather than giving Logan more confusing events to follow.

That Stilt-Man is awe inspiring! I wonder if he'll come with alternate varying stilt lengths?
-
And friends, that first Big Sister fight does NOT diappoint.
Glad to hear. I've seen a few videos and it looks absolutely astonishing!
-
Conroy as Batman and Hamill as Joker would have sold this for me, but I'll still see it. I'm mostly interested in seeing NPH as Nightwing and Jason Issacs as Ra's. That's two awesome casting jobs right there!

I'm still not done the first one, but I picked up my pre-order for BioShock 2. The special edition is HEAVY, but full of some great goodies.
I listened to the BS2 OST on my way home and absolutely loved it. Dad and I are going to setup our record player to listen to the BS1 OST vinyl tomorrow.
The art book is beautiful! It's full of great background information and beautiful character designs/displays in the different art styles they use throughout Rapture. If you're a fan of the style, it's worth picking up the special edition for that alone.
As for the first game, I'm up to Hephaestus as of last night. Oddly enough, all of the Little Sisters for that level spawned within 5 seconds of eachother. Made for some interesting encounters.

Hawkman was totally awesome! As a Stargate fan, I've never really found him to be intimidating as Daniel Jackson, but he managed to pull it off quite well. The voice was silly, but it didn't really distract much from the awesomeness of the episode.
I love me some Dr. Fate, but Icicle was just silly.
I can't wait to see Pam Grier in more episodes.

Speaking of Siege:
When in continuity does Daken stab Norman through the head?
This is getting confusing-- Although, that's not very new for Marvel, is it?
Something about that whole issue... I wonder how much was real, and how much was in the main character's head? Could be wrong, but that's the impression I came away with. But then something about
Daken
tires me, so...
Let's hope so. Otherwise things are going to get messed up. Badly.

Claremont blows.
End of story.
Maybe once upon a time he wrote a good story, but that was a whole millenia ago.
THIS! He seriously messed up Exiles. I'll never forgive him for that.

Installed OpenOffice. Woohoo.

I recently started playing BioShock for the first time. I avoided it for awhile after watching a friend played-- it actually kind of scared me. Still does. It's fun, though.

I have to say.... I'm so happy the Multiple Man comes with the extra arms. I love you, DST.<3

The Madrox Matching Mandibles list?
Mandibles are jaws, not arms.
How about the "Jamie's Arms Alliance"?
"Madrox's Call to Arms"?
-
I hope Jamie comes with some green arms, so I have the option to display some of them without the trenchcoat...
I'm hoping for this aswell.

It'll be interesting to see where this game takes place in the continuity. To be honest, I would have preferred a continuation of the Ultimate Sith Edition. The Hoth level just leaves you hanging.
