Here's a better quality picture (not sure if it's been posted already)?

I hope the final set improves and has more details and accessories

As this is supposed to be a 90's set, I would've preferred a Mr. Sinister, Morph, Forge, Banshee, Omega Red or Juggernaut instead of that 80's Magneto and pointless Wolverine.

  2. I'm fairly pleased with this announcement but here's my opinion:

Spiderman and The Lizard..... yet another Spidey, haven't we had every possible version already?

I would've preferred two villains and if it had to be a Spiderman design, perhaps Doppleganger?

I'm pleased we're finally getting The Lizard.

Thing & Doombot.....I think the standard Thing should come with his disguise as accessories (they've given us extra's with other minimates like the Sentinel) and the Variant should've been Ben Grim human form.

Doombot is a good suitable army builder.

90's Professor X & Warpath.....I look forward to the new Xavier, providing he comes with his Shi'ar chair.

I'm a little annoyed that DST still persist on not creating a Jubilee minimate.

The better pairing would've been a 90's Jubilee to go with 90's Xavier.

Or I wouldn't have minded getting a Lilandra (similar to the custom Luke made).

Warpath has already been produced with the X-Factor Angel so this minimate just seems out of place in this wave.

  3. Well I'm super smart. I wanted to see this movie this weekend, but it wasn't playing where i was. i figured it was cause it was a 4 screen theater. So I checked my home big theater today. Still not playing. I was like "Did this mmovie create that much contreversy?!"

Nope. It's just not out yet. :/

Don't worry I'm sure they'll be showing it alot in the USA, you just have to wait until this weekend ;)

I saw it the Saturday before last and really enjoyed it and will probably go see it again. I'd highly recommend this movie to comic book fans or anyone with an open mind. It has a really good pace and although it's called Kick-Ass, I feel Hit-Girl steals the show. It might receive some criticism due to Hit-Girl in general (11 yr old girl with guns, knives and getting beat up).

It does feature alot of humour and mainly violence. Not really much nudity apart from a breast shot and Kick-Ass rubbing self tan on his love-interest's back.

In the UK it's rated a 15 and I feel it's justifiable due to the violence but as far as Superhero movies go, this is definitely a more realistic and refreshing take on the concept but also doesn't take itself too seriously and anyone planning to see it needs to go into the cinema/theater with the same mind-set

  4. I'm really impressed with everything so far! Diamond seem to be the best company for listening to their customers, they seem to keep giving us what we want. I look forward to owning these, I love the artwork and hope to see more of it with future releases

  5. I really like your Wild West Ghost Rider! B)

You-Ghostbusting looks really cool and would fit right in with the the real Ghostbusters.

and I really like those quick Marvel customs you did with the Spirit mates,

it's surprising how a change of face and hair can make a character look even more realistic

  6. conan1.jpg

    Conan.

I used Ska'ars hair, loin cloth, sword and boots. Kravens chest Hawkeye's arms and X3 Juggy's legs and arm bands. I think that is Sgt. Rock's head. Not sure because I used Sgt. Rock to make a WWII Nick Fury.

I love this Conan! He looks so bad-ass and kind of battle fatigued  Really well put together

  7. Viper, I'll agree that the type of material Hasbro uses is by leaps and bounds different than Toybiz, but it's the same people working on the ML that were over at Toybiz. So technically TB is sculpting the line, but it's Hasbro's factories producing them  It's the same argument I hear over at other boards about the DST Trek line, which basically has the same answer. I'm pretty sure Toybiz is no more and I don't know if Marvel Toys is still around for that matter  Anyone back me up on that or am I mistaken?

I didn't realise the same people from toy biz did the marvel legends for hasbro, as I thought toy biz became Marvel Toys and made those cool Legendary Comic book Hero figures which had Judge Dredd, Marv, Witchblade etc.

For me the best company to handle Marvel characters would be Neca as they would be extremely detailed and facially accurate.

  8. Personally, I'd only be happy if Toy Biz was making Marvel figures again, their Marvel Legends had the most accurate representations of the characters from both comics and movies.

Hasbro handling Marvel figures is just annoying as the quality and lack of detail ruins what could potentially be good

  9. I'm quite disappointed with this wave, with the exception of Electro, Scorpion and Vault Guard, they missed an opportunity for original characters, I was expecting/hoping to see:

    Lizard

    Vulture

    Tombstone

    Morbius

    Doppleganger

    Shriek

maybe a Rhino or Kingpin update?

Instead we get even more multiple Spidermen/Women & Girls

  10. This has already been released in the UK I'm just waiting on Vol2 of Series 2. Makes a change being ahead of most of you guys on something.

You can now get Season 2 Vol. 2 on Play.com http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/9223804/X-M...-2/Product.html

I managed to get the 4 DVD boxset:

    6362752x.jpg

I found it in Forbidden Planet in Bristol.

I'll probably double-dip with the USA releases, just to find out if the episodes will be uncut as the English dvds do have some minor cuts, the most memorable so far is in the Alpha Flight Episode "Repo Man", in the original Wolverine says "It's none of your Bleeding business!" but on the UK dvd he just says "It's none of your business"

    X-MenVolume1DVDCover.jpgX-MenVolume2DVDCover.jpg

Also the US Volume 2 has seven more episodes:

    Red Dawn

    Repo Man

    X-Ternally Yours

    Time Fugitives (Part 1)

    Time Fugitives (Part 2)

    A Rogue's Tale

    Beauty & The Beast

    Mojo Vision

    Reunion (Part 1)

    Reunion (Part 2)

Out of the Past (Part 1)

Out of the Past (Part 2)

The Phoenix Saga (Part 1): Sacrifice

The Phoenix Saga (Part 2): The Dark Shroud

The Phoenix Saga (Part 3): Cry of the Banshee

The Phoenix Saga (Part 4): The Starjammers

The Phoenix Saga (Part 5): Child of Light

  11. I watched a couple episodes recently and it did not hold up so good.

Hehe I know, from what I remember, this show was terrible!

Are you kidding!? This was, and in my opinion still is the best animated show based on a Marvel comic. They implemented alot of storylines found in the source material, I felt the only real disadvantage was the fact that is was made for Saturday morning TV so alot of things had to be dumbed-down to avoid complaints. They even gave it a proper ending which could've continued with the teams branching out into Blue, Gold and X-Factor groups.

I just hope they eventually release every episode and would love to see some behind-the-scenes footage, like interviews with the voice actors, bloopers, and a making-of featurette.

  12. It was tough only being able to vote for one, like Dio said, we should've been able to vote for 4! But after alot of consideration I voted for Ben Grimm, as we've had alot of different "Thing" minimates but the odds of actually getting him in his human form are highly unlikely. So I really hope he makes it into the boxset...or as a variant ;)

Mohawk Storm is another cool idea, but I still see her as a variant and would rather have a highly detailed 90's Jim Lee Storm in white.

I hope we get to vote on some more sets in the future :)

  13. "WTF? Goku's Caucasian?!"

Japanese character named Goku turned into white American teenager = BAD

The fact that Goku hasn't been cast as an Asian actor doesn't bother me, in the Manga & Anime he's supposed to be an Alien (a Saiyan from Planet Vegeta) so to me I don't mind what ethnicity the actor is playing him.

I've yet to see this movie but I don't really want to waste my money at the Cinema on it, I'll most likely wait for the DVD release, it annoys me how far they've strayed from the original story, if this is supposed to be Dragon Ball then it should've definitely had Krillin and in my opinion focused on the young Goku. I would've liked to have seen Launch and Tien too.

Is it true the running time is only 82 minutes? That's way too short and in the UK I've seen the rating is PG!

In my opinion a franchise of this nature should've been handled in the same manner as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter and Spiderman Movies. It needs a director that is familiar with the source material as it's possible to make a fantastic DB movie series, with the right Direction and budget.

Even though I haven't seen it yet, I do feel this will get good takings over this Easter Period and possibly a sequel, but I fear they're going to completely ruin one of the best Manga and Anime's from Japan. Dragon Ball and DBZ are my favourites so it really does annoy me when I see how they appear to be butchering a classic.

Anyone who is not familiar with the tv shows should seriously get the dvds....if you want to laugh start with the original Dragon Ball series and then for full on action and epic battles you gotta see DBZ.

That's my rant over for now :P

  14. I think that wave 28 is the best-looking wave yet. Can't wait for those Sabreteeth.

Agreed. And as common as Wolverine is, to me this one is absolutely perfect...I'd be happy if they never made another Wolverine again. Can't wait to have Sabretooth & Logan duke it out!
