  1. Right, they said they knew there was an intrusion, they just didn't know what had been accessed until recently. That's what Sony is saying and that's what the article you posted is saying. That being said, I agree that they should have at least acknowledged there was a chance of something having been accessed back when they first pulled the plug. I know you don't want to cause a panic, but all this information has been in evil hacker hands for a week now.

As for the free credit report, that's just something you are entitled to, apparently. Everyone's entitled to one a year (in America, at least). Sony hasn't said they'd be footing the bill for it.

In the grand scheme of things, Sony is probably smurfed.

  2. Sony is saying that they identified that there was an intrusion on the 19th, but only just learned of the scope of the intrusion after bringing in a security firm to sift through the wreckage. Whether this is truth or just CYA speak, I dunno.

They should have at least acknowledged the possibility earlier, even if there was no evidence.

Did they really offer a free credit report?

  3. It'll be interesting to see what that Marvel Movies thing ends up being. I seem to recall Chuck saying that the Marvel movie licenses were very time-limited, meaning there's a small window to get product onto shelves.

I'm into bigmates....like big Australian dudes.

    Not touching that one. :ermm:

  4. Having never used XBL, I can't really compare the two services. I got a PS3 because of the games they have, not the online service. I'd rather play Metal Gear, Little Big Planet, or God of War than Halo, Fable, or Gears of War. I'm not saying they're better games, I just prefer them.

In the end, both systems have their pluses and they have their faults. I don't really buy into the fanboy crap.

Back on topic, I beat Portal 2. Haven't tried the co-op yet.

  5. They did say anyone appearing in the game was fairplay, which suggests alternate appearances and cameos, such as the characters showing up in the endings.

That being said, I imagine they play this one conservatively. Street Fighter II died partly due to variant fatigue, with no fewer than 3 Ryus available during the first run of the series.

  6. I'm all for the boardies meeting up. *polishes sniper rifle*

The problem with SDCC now is that if you didn't go the previous year, you have about a 20 second window to secure tickets to the next year online. Those who have struck lucky with the TRU exclusives online might be able to pull it off.

I might be able to make C2E2 though. When is it next year, anyway?

  7. I'd like to see more beyond the first wave of these, but I can see how this would be a tough line to get off the ground. Between Sony and whatever game companies that make the exclusive games, there'd be several layers of licensing.

Of course, beyond Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, and Jak & Daxter, what is there? Chuck said Killzone won't happen. Metal Gear went the Kubrick route. Little Big Planet might could work, but there's really only one character there.

  8. I was surprised to find about half a case of these at my local TRU. They had one each of the exclusives, plus the Thor/Destroyer set. I don't think they had Odin/Loki.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since I was able to buy the exclusives from the website, and they always show up in my store if I can get them from the website.

  9. Age of V: Chapter 3

Two lone figures made their way across the desert. In the years that had passed since the war had ended, the desert had reclaimed much of the midwest. Signs of civilization were disappearing all over the world.

Thrust together by chance while escaping from the remains of New York, Matt Murdock and Ben Reilly had established a good partnership. Matt's heightened senses, paired with Ben's spider sense, ensured that there would be few surprises. Not that they avoided danger completely. It had been a hard journey.

"Why are we headed to California?" Ben asked.

"Vision pretty much has the east coast within his fist," Matt responded. "I'm hoping the west isn't so firmly in his control. Besides, the Avengers used to operate out here, so maybe we can find some help."

Vision's patrols had presented numerous challenges. Through their combined skills, they had managed to avoid capture, if only just. Still, surviving on the countryside for five years could be quite depleting. The fact of the matter was that they wouldn't make it much longer on their own. They needed help.

Sadly, help was not what they found.

The two paused as they reached the top of a hill. "We've got trouble," was all Ben was able to say before mechanical arms erupted from the ground around them. The fight did not go well.

    Matt Murdock

Daredevil was amongst the heroes assembled at Avengers Tower to confront Vision at the end of the super human war. When New York fell to the ensuing blast, Matt's heightened senses were disrupted by the noise, essentially disabling him.

Matt was rescued from the wreckage by Ben Reilly, who stuck with Matt until his senses slowly returned. Together, the two have since set off westward in hopes of finding help or just a safe haven.

    Ben Reilly

At peace with the knowledge of being a clone, Ben Reilly led a quiet life in Denver until the super human war started. He returned to New York as the Scarlet Spider to help Spider-Man and the other heroes quell the villain uprising. As the war drew to a close, Ben was in New York when it was destroyed.

Emerging from the wreckage, Ben discovered a disabled Matt Murdock and helped guide him from the city. When Matt's heightened senses returned, the two ventured west in search of aid in the battle against Vision. Though Matt needs his help, Ben is haunted by thoughts of returning to New York in hopes of finding out what happened to Peter Parker and his loved ones.

  10. Just saw the press release, Luke. Well done. But I guess it would have been clever to add the deadline or something. On the other hand, you have to check this thread anyways, right?

I thought the press release said June 1st was the deadline?

We already have 21 customizers who have pledged to make a custom, and we are hoping we can get even more participants before the June 1st deadline.
  11. Considering we're probably not supposed to know about MvC, it might be too soon to promote that one.

As for the rest, Sony is likely a one-and-done assortment, the Femme Fatales might not make it past a couple of box sets, and Real Ghost Busters is really just an extension of the already established Ghost Busters line, with an end already in sight since they only plan on two assortments.

Calico Jack might be too detailed to make a good promotional item. I know the Battle Beast croc-of-many-colors was a detailed item, but that's been established as a way to secure the rights to a line by making people think they were planning on selling it.

Maybe they'll have some multi-color blanks at SDCC.
