  1. I'm still on level 1. I beat the first evil ex, but I keep replaying the level in order to boost my money and my stats. Apparently, if you can afford to shop in Wallace's hidden shop, you can give the game difficulty a kick in the junk. I'm just trying to save up enough to pay off the video store debt so I can buy extra lives.

In other news, I've just started playing Borderlands on PC.

  2. Well, right now, Scott Pilgrim in Offline Co-Op only. But from what I ready, I think there is a patch at the end of the month that takes it online, 4 player Co-Op. If you are still into it then maybe you can get it and we can kick it together. I'm sure I'll still be playing it then!!

I'll be giving it another try, and will probably end up buying it, whether I get better or not. I was reading through some of the help options, so I have a better idea of what to do. For instance, I didn't know that L1 and R1 did anything.

  3. There are tons of costumes available in Little Big Planet:

On top of that, we know there's a 4th Marvel pack coming next week that'll have Hulk, Punisher, Magneto, Green Goblin, and Storm.

In other news, I played the demo for Scott Pilgrim, and it reminds me of how terrible I am at arcade games. Might be more fun with other players to help cover my horrible gameplay skills. I'm not buying it though until I get better at it.

  4. I wonder what is going on? Are they removing the crossover minimates between TRU & LCB waves?

That's what it looks like, which wouldn't be a bad thing in my opinion. If you look back at the previous waves, the ones that peg warm are the ones that were covered in the LCS waves as well. That's partly from scalpers nabbing all the exclusives and leaving the rest of the wave to rot, but I imagine the fact that the overlap also takes up most of the case, they aren't moving as many as they could if it was another unique figure, or at least a hard to find rerelease.

  5. I agree. When I walk into my local TRU and they don't have the latest releases, I don't pick up an impulse item or browse the rest of the store. I just storm out. I usually punch the first employee I see too. They always wince when they see me approaching the register with nothing in my hands.

  6. Why don't they do the best of waves for the Marvel line? Seems to me that's been the harder line to shop for, which provided the greater chances for missing out on a figure. I imagine they produce Marvel sets in greater numbers to the Ghost Busters sets (initially anyway, since I seem to recall Chuck saying that they were outperforming Marvel), but the GB sets have had preorders available on the website and I've never had a problem finding them in my local store.

If they can't be bothered to do a best of wave, then maybe every year at SDCC or somewhere, they can release a We're Sorry box set that features all the figures currently going for $40-$60 on eBay.

The TRU Thing (prototypes I know, but it might turn out this way) is different then the regular wave 37 Thing.

TRU Thing has a '4' on his belt where the wave 37 Thing has no '4'. I wonder if this will be how the figures come out.

I think they are two different figures. Wave 37 Thing has Ben Grimm underneath his rocky exterior, whereas this one is like the old Thing figures where its a blank Minimate with some extra parts stuck on to bulk it up a bit.

  7. DSTChuck: "They want army builder figures in TRU? Make them exclusive! Muahahahahaha!"

I'd wager that the sticker is correct. There's generally two exclusive sets, and I don't see them going against that. Assuming that my TRU hasn't abandoned Marvel Minimates again, there's a slight chance that this series will make it to my store, but certainly no guarantee. The website probably won't be much better.

Still, if these are going to TRU Canada as well, then maybe we'll see greater numbers of the sets available, which means lower eBay prices. And with the market coverage increased, there will be a few less people hunting for them on eBay.

  8. Oh good, a TRU exclusive army builder figure. Either we're kicking the trend of overlapping with the regular Marvel releases with this wave, or Marvel series 38 is going to feature some of the non-exclusive characters.

  9. Might have to build me some shelves like that, though I'd probably go a step further and drill a bunch of small holes into the shelves and get some small pegs to slip in those holes, that way I could stand the figures up. Also might add elevated platforms on each shelf so I could display multiple rows of figures instead of just one or two rows of them. Then I'd have to add bigger sections for the Max statues.

Crap, now I have to go take some woodworking classes at the community college.

  10. A better question. Are any of us for real? How do you know that the world in which we live is not just a figment of my imagination? Or yours? or theirs? The answer is simple: I think therefore I am. If I do not think, then I do not know myself to be. But since I think, I know myself to exist, and therefore I am.

But what if you're just a subconscious construct in someone else's dream? All your thoughts and feelings are just an extension of their thoughts and feelings. That you don't share the same opinion hardly matters, since many people are in constant conflict with themselves, which governs the whole concept of right and wrong.

So, whoever is dreaming all of this, don't wake up until we get the Minimates we want. I'm waiting for the Invisible Man myself.

  11. I remember this from conversation with DSTChuck, and Storm touches on it in his summary: TRU has a guy, who is a Marvel comics fan, who decrees what mix DST provides. Sometimes it's general, but the exclusives are often more specific.

I wonder if we can track this guy down and buy him (no I don't mean collect him, since I doubt he's MIB). We'll know if someone succeeds in this venture when the next few TRU waves completely knock out someone's wish list.

DSTChuck to TRUGuy: "Why do you keep filling the exclusive sets with Kang variants?"

  12. I got LEGO Harry Potter. Yaknow, I think this is easily the best since Star Wars 2. My only difficulty is the odd PC controls. Other than that, this game is hilarious.

I enjoyed that game. It was arguably the best Lego game so far, and I'm glad they ditched the gameplay from Lego Indy 2. My only gripe is the game breaking glitch on the PS3 version. Luckily someone found a way to glitch back out of it, so I was able to finish the game.

  13. I'm all for it if they really push these to ALL Targets. Last time they were in Target stores, it didn't work so well, and they had no presence on their website either.

Of course, I'd be all for it if we could get them in some international retail chains too. Won't someone think of the starving Europeans/Australians/Asians who aren't stealing these from the factory/etc?

  14. So today's random Ghostbuster thought - if Diamond does start making Real Ghostbusters Minimates, do you think they'll be able to make a cartoon-style Ecto-1 (and sidestep the problems that kept them from making a movie version)?

I imagine they'd have to negotiate for the rights to the cartoon, so that might come up in the discussion.

It was my impression that all that stuff was on hold pending the success of the initial Minimate line. Seeing as its been said that it outperformed the Marvel flagship, I'd be inclined to think it a successful line, so maybe Sony will open the doors a bit more.
