  1. Ok, finally finished mine. For the record, I hate Photoshop.

    Amazing_Spider-Man_Annual_1.jpgcover.jpg

Six custom minimates, everything in the picture was actually made, only doctored to better resemble the cover. The blue buildings is actually that Megabloks Marvel Building shaded blue. Blue LEGO baseplate as the ground. I did borrow the title and text boxes from the actual cover though, to make it as accurate as possible.

  2. Because of the delays with Civil War, there are definately clues in future comic solicts, with the mention of Ares joining the mix (and turning up because Herc bought it would make sense) and the return of the original Hawkeye on a future team (which may require bumping off the present Hawkeye)

I doubt they'd mow over the new Hawkeye in favor of the original, especially just after the original had passed the name and costume on to the Young Avengers Hawkeye. I think they plan on bringing Clint Barton in under a new identity, a la Iron Fist/Daredevil.

  3. I got my Dark Phoenix/CYclop just yesterday, and I could have done that. But alas, stolen. Ah well.

Just onaccounta I was 1st to jump on it don't means I stoled it. :(

I don't think he seriously meant you stole it. He's just expressing mock regret for a golden opportunity slipping through his fingers.

You did a great job on capturing the scene, even the minute details such as the parents in the background with the Professor. And the facial expressions are pure genius.

In regards to your question about changing your entry, I'm unsure of what the rules will allow. The limitation of just one entry seems to suggest to me that you cannot change it later on, but I'm not in charge and thus don't make the final judgement. However, why would you want to change it? It's gold!

  4. A lot of people are against Spidey unmasking, but I think it was a necessary, inevitable change. My only gripe is that at the beginning of the Civil War, as well as the Spider-Man road to Civil War, Spidey was all against exposing who a hero is. Apparently, a lot of talk between him and Tony after that took place off panel.

Anyway, as the story progresses, we now know that the pros have Thor, Sentry, She-Hulk, and countless other heavy-hitters. With Thing choosing to walk away, who do the antis have to match the massive firepower on the pros end?

    *Spoiler Alert*

Also, it seems Thor went a bit excessive at the end of Civil War #3, as we learn in Cable & Deadpool that an anti-registration hero bit the dust. We won't know who until Civil War #4 comes out, but I wanted to poll the audience and see who they thought was the deceased do-gooder.

Assuming the latest Spider-Man takes place after Civil War #3, then we know it isn't Captain America, or any of the heroes pictured with him running through the sewers (don't have the book on me, so I can't list names at present). We can also safely assume its not Cable, since he was the one to deliver the news. Its not likely Daredevil, since Iron Fist currently is slated to get his own title after Civil War ends, and it wouldn't be an interesting read to have issue after issue focusing on a corpse. My guess is that its either Hercules, who took a hit of lightning at the end of CW3, or one of the Young Avengers (assuming of course that YA/Runaways takes place before CW3).

    Any thoughts?

  5. I'm seeing that all these entries are incorporating elements of the original covers, seems to be the way to go.

I have found a cover that meets all my requirements:

    It's from a series I have read

It's got available Minimates on it

    It's quite easy to recreate

    Boobies!

The last point was top of the list, obviously.

If you could just find an issue that had nothing but boobies on it, then it would better your chances of not being a non-prizewinning entry.

  6. I wouldn't rule out my own chances if I were you. Sure there is some stiff competition here, but you never know your chances until you try. The most simplest of covers can trump the most complex if the attention to detail is great enough. I know my chances are slim, as always, but I'm still trying to participate just for the fun of it all. Besides, a couple of Maximates is enough encentive for me to throw something out there.
