  1. With the abundance of lines finally hitting shelves, be it reissue or otherwise, can anyone help me get some information on the specifics for these so I can pass them along to my local TRU and Target?

For starter, are Speed Racer, Street Fighter, and the reissues and upcoming releases of Marvel limited to the larger stores in the chain, or are smaller stores getting this stuff too?

What are the product numbers on these (not sure what its called, but whatever sets it apart in the computers at the stores)?

I've been to TRU about Speed and SF but they said check back in a week. Target said try back in a month or so for the Marvel reissues. Neither store really had any idea what they were. I'm desperate to help keep the mass market introduction successful, plus I haven't gotten much from the Street Fighter and nothing from the Speed line yet, and I can always use the reissues for parts, and who can pass up the new figures in the coming weeks from Marvel.

If anyone can help me in educating my local retailers, I'd appreciate it.

  2. WHOO HOO!! More Cap, Spidey, Wolverine and Cyclops 'mates! I can't wait!! hulkhead.gif

twak.gif I just wish someone at AA/DST would wake up to the fact that these characters have been done to death. Where's Thor? Namor? Bucky? US Agent? Dman? Captain Britan? Hobgoblin? Abomination?

Patience, my friend. Though I agree that we need new characters, the fact that these things should be popping up in stores soon tells me that something's coming down the pipeline, hopefully waves 12 and 13. I can't really fault them for trying to spread the minimates in mass market. Its somewhat refreshing just to see anything popping up, even if its stuff we've known about for several months.

  3. I'm shying away from George Lucas and his vision, be it the original or revised. They were ok movies, but I never really found myself compelled to join the masses of Star Wars fanatics. The prequel trilogy just jumbled up my opinion even more, since the 30 years between the first and second trilogy saw all sorts of technological advancements, it made the prequel look more like a sequel from a graphics standpoint. And his revist that upgraded the original was nice at times, but overall, just a way to make more money for less work.

Anyone here pick up the Silent Hill DVD? I loved that movie and still do now that its on DVD. I just hope we can see an extended edition or a special edition with more special features down the line. I hate it when studios release discs with few or no extras on them.

  4. Yeah... I SAID it had its problems. Besides, I already PM'd everyone. All toilet related objects go to Luke for "customizing purposes" (us laughing).

All kidding aside, it isn't a bad idea to have a list of addys somewhere for whatever reason. I'm not opposed to having someone like Ady hold the list and shoot addresses around if need be.

And I thought the toilet related objects went out as an honorable mention prize in the current contest. LOL

  5. What does this mean for the Donna Fan club? Can you hold more than one relgion close to your heart?

    T.

Well, its normal for a person to harbor many beliefs. Still, a person will find themselves conflicted when a conflict between their multiple gods occurs. Suppose Donna denounces Minimates? What then?

  6. This has good idea written all over it.

    * Deadpool answers the knock on his door to discover a package on the front steps. Opening the package, the box falls from his hands in shock as he cries, "God, whose toilet backed up this time?!"

And if there ARE gold and silver spideys in route to Nervous's house, I'm going to need that address too so I can intercept that transit.

  7. Do not doubt the Minimate church my brothers and sisters. There IS redemption in plastic.... And through this we will find salvation, and variants.

This is all dependant on the amount of donations received, and members joined but, complete speculation leads me to believe that:

Each member of the church will receive three robes one for each of the Apostles; Snap, Crackle and Pop. Along with a gold Tony the Tiger minimate complete with pedestal for worship. A mini sacrificial alter complete with X-Acto knife for which you will be-head marvel minimates with.

I forsee horrendous plastic creatures shambling around a foggy town in your future.

And do you really need a knife to behead a minimate? Mine usually just pop off with a little pressure from my thumb.

  8. Well I can't form an opinion on these, since I can not find them in my area, yet. But based on the reviews thus far, I am not going to be shocked if these are less than stellar. The thing that is really blowing my mind, is the negative reviews from the guys i consider the "leaders" here on the board. These must really suck, if the guys who always have good thoughts are this negative. It really makes me sad to say it, but I fear my favorite toys are going extinct...and there doesn't seem to be anything i can do to help it. drag.

Yeah, the figureheads of the minimate movement haven't had a whole lot of praise to lavish on these guys thus far.

Neither Speed nor SF2 have shown up in Greenville yet, but if it comes time to scour the internet for these babies, I'll be reading the inevitable review on Minimates Central before I click Buy Now.

On a side note, these things seem to be running around $20 or so on eBay right now. Rediculous!
