  1. Only if followed by two whole waves of Deadpools! And yes, I would actually buy EVERY LAST ONE.

Remind me not to give you my address then. I'm almost done customizing my second Civil War "2-pack" and I'm just going to leave it at that.

  2. Nirto/Battle Damaged Wolverine

Battle Damaged Nitro v. Naked Wolverine

    Absolutely.

Ulysses S. Grant vs. Robert E. Lee

    Abraham Lincoln vs. Jefferson Davis

William Tecumseh Sherman vs. Stonewall Jackson

    Monitor vs. Merrimack

I know, I know, old, tired joke. I'll be quiet now.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised to see these hit shelves at some point after the cereal mates.

  3. Ok, time for some fanboy dreaming. Let's assume that AA/DST ever get their act together and go on a massive minimate production spree, kicking out 2-packs, 4-packs, or more-packs for the biggest Marvel event this year, Civil War. What packing do you want to see?

I think it would be cool to box them in a versus type pack like they did with Street Fighter. Here's my starting lineup:

    Captain America v. Iron Man

    Thor v. Hercules

Cable v. Deadpool (though this may change, seeing as Cable has abandoned Cap's side)

    Young Avengers v. Runaways

    Thunderbolts 10-pack

Ms. Marvel v. Arachne (not sure how they'd pull it off with the no variant rerelease rule)

Yellow Jacket v. Goliath (Goliath v. Thor seemed a bit too obvious)

    Cyclops v. Bishop

Mr. Fantastic v. Invisible Woman (perhaps battle-damaged versions of both to avoid a simple rerelease)

Cloak & Dagger v. 2 Pro-Registration Members (not sure who should go here)

Wolverine v. Namor (Nitro would be better, but I want him in the next pack)

    New Warriors v. Stanford Four

    Maria Hill v. Nick Fury

Also, a good pairing for an exclusive would be:

    Black Panther & Storm

And there's plenty more players on both sides who I haven't divied out yet. What do the rest of you think?

  4. I don't forsee a big history of the "New Thunderbolts." I'm thinking that these Thunderbolts are going to turn back to evil the first chance they get. If Peter hasn't jumped ship yet, he will when he finds out that Tony's housing some of the baddest villains in Start Tower. Those nanites are going to give the rest of these "heroic" villains a chance to screw the real heroes soon enough.

  5. Definitely a hard one to pull off, given the delays in that particular line. Nice to see one from outside the Marvel/DC Universe too! Great job Fujis.

I'm really digging Kirby's entry too. I'm a huge Punisher fan and was never fond of how "neutered" he is in the main Marvel Universe, in the restrictions on his death toll. Hopefully Civil War will have him exercising some pointless villains from the Marvel U.

I have fallen far, far, far from the top three at this point.

  6. Speed Racer seems to be TRU exclusive

Target is getting rolling Marvel 2 Packs.

The Marvel & SF2 4 Packs are TRU exclusive

Both groups of stores have no control over recieveing them AFAIK, they will be getting them.

Neither will be getting them, if what I learned today is any indication. The people at TRU did offer to give me a phone number if I could name another store that did carry these "minimates". One lady was kind enough to rudely say "Not all Toys R Us get everything".

Shopping in this town sucks tremendously! Why can I buy Flashdance on VHS at my local TRU, but when I try to find a toy, nothing. But at least we did get new Cars toys, though the movie has been off the radar for how long?

  7. Hard to tell without having the mates here in front of me, but it looks like the paint apps are slightly different on Storm and Cyc. Cyc's blue seems slightly lighter and the red on the visor seems a little skimped. Storm's details on her headdress also seems slimmer. Her skin may be slightly darker too, though I'm not certain. And I wouldn't be surprised if Colossus has C3 feet under those mammoth boots.

EDIT: And Ben Reilly looks a darker red too. Again, this could all be factory mishaps or issues with camera flash.

  8. Wow, are these $6.95? If they are $5.95, then the figures would end up costing less than the original set!

It's sorta cool, but I'm really tired of being burned by paying collector prices.

I haven't even bought the Spider-Woman I'm missing, because, yeah, it looks like she will probably be re-released at some point.

If you mean Jessica Drew Spider-Woman, then look no further than the New Avengers 4-pack, though she has a different facial expression, it seems. If you mean Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman/Arachne, then no, she'll never be rereleased due to her variant status. Odd choice limiting yourself from an entire character, especially since she's more prominent in Civil War than Jess.

Anyone checking to see if the rereleased X-Men feature the latest in Minimate tech, from C3 feet to <> holes, etc? Also, anyone know if they have the same facial expressions, paint apps, etc? The original purchase won't look so bad if we discover some variations in the rereleased figures.

  9. Latest customs to hit: Iron Man vs. Captain America.

Iron Man is a modest attempt at making Shellhead's current armor using the parts I had available. The camera washed out most of the post-painting detail lines, but I'm happy with it. Could be better, but hey, wars are rarely perfect.

Captain America is one I'm truly happy with. A Cap figure, painted a slightly lighter blue, with chainmail hand drawn. A modified Batman belt gives him his pouches, and a touch of Sculpey to flare out his boots.

Both figures based on their appearance within Civil War #1.
