Twisted Two-Face

I was fortunate to find both the full Cap wave and the Spider-man wave at Target when they were still $14.99. Cap was easy to find, but hard to find complete, and Spider-man was next to impossible because of it not having a stock location. They're fantastic figures, regardless; i'm hard pressed to find a favorite but i can't put Carnage and Zemo down.

Definitely worried about finding Black Widow, though.

That was so depressingly terrible. I was expecting Eli to rip off his Peyton mask halfway through.

Considering the color, i'm surprised no one mentioned the first one i thought of:

One Winter Soldier is coming and going at light speed, and is hit or miss. The other keeps getting pushed back and won't come out. Beautifully perfect.

Can they make minimates larger than 2" now? Because Ultron is HUGE!

The rule is that they have to be on the two-inch body, in a two-inch scale, not that they cap height at two inches.

My not having a Winter Soldier yet is so painfully ironic.

I'm figuring we'll see something reminiscent of their Ultimate looks for AoU, but i'm hoping Wanda will get some sort of "crown." It shouldn't be too hard to turn Pietro's padded look into a bolt shape, too; just dye it a greyish blue and white. Considering how accurate we've gotten with the rest of the cast (Ultimate or otherwise), i'm not too worried.

I'll give DoFP this, their Pietro does look like his MUCH later Ultimate look, minus the purple.

Is there a crying emoticon? We need a crying emoticon. Like i need 18 and Tomb Raider.

Considering we'll see Wanda and Pietro in Avengers 2, i'm not too concerned if we don't get this Pietro. I'm hoping this one will be more accurate personality wise, since they can use Magneto, but i'm figuring we'll get a more accurate look from Whedon so i can wait for that.

I doubt we'll see Trask, sadly. I mean we got Puck, so it's possible, but i'm not confident. Really hoping for Old Charles, Old Magneto, Bishop, Sunspot, Young Magneto, and a Sentinel. The others, except Mystique, are fairly easy customs or just wasteful for such a huge line-up.

I wouldn't say no to a Battle Damaged JFK...

Do the SKU numbers help - if you call a TRU w/ the SKU numbers, will they tell you if they have them in stock?

I have not yet found Wave 18 in two of my usual TRUs in NJ (Watchung and Lawrenceville).

I finally bought an Omega Red set and an IM3 set w/ Tony Stark each for $2.79 w/ the 30% coupon at the Lawrenceville store on Friday.

Normally? Yes, the SKU or "R US Web #" can very easily be checked.

In this case? No, they share a number with Wave 17.

WWE figures go on regular sales of Buy One Get One sales of 50%-60% off. Sometimes BOGO Free. And yet those are consistently restocked here, sometimes with an even bigger WWE section. It's just to make room for newer shipments for us usually.

Remember, wave 18 probably wouldn't even BE on clearance if it didn't share the item number with 17.

So no, between the shared item number, and the after-holiday clearance, neither would be a significant cause of concern.

Cowboy Bebop, Fate/Stay Night, and Kiddy Grade would be it for me. MAYBE DBZ but there's just so many characters. I'd really just want Android Saga looks.

As just an ordinary TRU employee, i wouldn't put much thought into the shared item numbers. Minimate waves have shared them a few times before, and NECA Predators still share them (with no end in sight); I think Series 10 was the only one with a specific different number. Now i have no official means of backing that up, but it's not something i'd worry about, regardless.

I've said it before and i'll say it again: slap a goatee on Patrick Dempsey and there's your Dr. Strange.

I absolutely need Kraven, even if it means he has to appear in the "Amazing" series to make it happen. Last Hunt is the only 616 Spidey story i've actually really loved and Kraven's a fantastic character.

I took that to mean that Zach just doesn't remember what they have planned for TRU, or what specific ones they have planned are going to TRU. If they were ending, i'd think he'd be a little more definite than "I'm hazy."

Both Winter Soldiers look incredible. The faces are just like Epting's drawings.

Just getting caught up on a bunch of Marvel Now reading and it is making me even more excited for the various Marvel Now designs (some in this wave and some in the TRU stuff lately).

I've searched around in here and I have not seen anyone talking about the new Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) look. Any ideas on whether she gets mated? (I know what I said)

I know i've mentioned her and Doctor Strange whenever NOW! talk pops up (and Hawkeye and Black Widow, but fortunately we already got them). Love Carol, love the book, love the new look, desperately a Minimate of her.

I'm guessing some of these will have alternate looks. I'm figuring Harry is both him and Goblin. And Smythe was totally out of left field for me, i had to google that one. Kudos on such a random, obscure character, that's a good call.

Also figuring Aleksei is our second alternate-underpants Minimate.

Luke, i think you may have the hair on backwards or too low on his face. Looks much better in Michael Crawford's shots on MWCToys.

But yes, we do not have the original Buster. We have the third one, the Granov design. Making the shiny red and god accurate.

Well...that's a disappointing wave. I'll echo the sentiments of never needing another Morgan, but i also didn't need a Prison Michonne already (seriously, is this Walking Dead or Walking Michonne?) and Riot Gear Glenn is an easy custom. And personally, i wanted a Farm Maggie before this Maggie, even if this one is the most iconic. That's a minor gripe. Tyreese and Martinez are welcome additions, but this is just really underwhelming.

Zach, any insight as to why we're getting so many redos of the A-list cast so soon (and so frequently)? This is the 4th Michonne, and the 3rd Glenn, not to mention we have 6 Ricks. It's just odd that with such a huge cast of characters we're getting so many redos, some of which seem like anchors DST would want to space out and save for later. It's a little disconcerting that you guys are already redoing Morgan, for instance, when characters like Abraham, Carl, Rosita, and many others are still unmade. I get the idea of going by story arc, but it's decisions like these that have me raise an eyebrow.
