  1. I've been swamped with work lately, but I finally got a chance to open my Amazon AoU Set and my Hulkbuster wave.

The AoU MLs are a fun sub-set, though I still really want the twins, Vision, and Falcon to go with them.

I hate the new cape they've been using, so I replaced Vision's with a spare Toy Biz cape I had. I like him a lot more now.

  2. I know that there's no way they could justify doing it for such a seemingly obscure/b-list character, but i *really* wished we could have seen a sculpted headpiece to mirror what Desinty wears in the comics. Still - it's pretty good likeness for a parts re-use figure.

Yeah, the generic piece hurts her just a bit, but I guess getting her at all is kinda cool

  3. Well, I went to TRU. It was...disappointing. Black Series figures were nowhere to be seen, 3 3/4 were quickly picked through, and the Pop!s were gone in minutes. I managed to get a pop! Stormtrooper and a 3 3/4 Assault Walker (which I bought for the figure included). The staff kept bringing out more and more boxes of the Legos, costumes, and Nerf blasters and when asked about more figures said that they put out all they had and were waiting on tomorrow's shipment for more. Clearly, TRU did not plan this well.

On the plus side, I was able to snag an Stealth Spidey & Sandman set, so it wasn't a total waste.

  4. Hi guys-

So, I'm sure more than a few people here are aware of my toy review blog, The Figure In Question, where I ramble about action figures everyday. Well, it seems the blog got me a little bit of attention. Eight months ago, I was contacted by Rich Handley and Joe Berenato, who are editing a series of essay collections based around Star Wars media from throughout the years.

The long and short of it is that in a few months time, my essay on the history of Star Wars action figures will be published as part of the third collection, titled A More Civilized Age: Exploring the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

We don't have an official release date just yet, but I'll make sure to post here once it's announced. Anyway, I'm so excited to be a part of this! If you'd like like some more info on the collections, head to this link: http://hassleinbooks.blogspot.com/2015/08/from-planet-of-apes-to-star-wars-new.html

    Thanks for looking!

  5. I found Banner/WM yesterday at the Glen Burnie, MD TRU. A little letdown by no extra arms for Banner, but pleasantly surprised by the extra angry head. AoU War Machine is shinier than IM3 War Machine, and seems to have sloppier paint overall. Cheadle likeness seems closer this time, but I don't care for the expression.
