  1. Well, I think the short answer to that is that the characters have been largely irrelevant for over years, and it seems unlikely that any of them will be getting a resurgence in popularity any time soon (aside from possibly Jubilee). Of course that hasn't stopped us from getting characters before. I think the big thing preventing them from seeing 'mates is that none of them are really related to any characters outside themselves, and I just can't see retailers jumping behind a whole wave devoted to just them. I mean, Banshee's one of the most prominent characters from the series, and he's only just now getting a 'mate is wave 60.

For the record, those are some fantastic customs. Great job!

  2. Okay, after 3 days of phone calls, post office visits, and some of the worst customer service I've ever dealt with, my Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch finally arrived. Package was crushed all to hell, but the figures inside were fine. They're not bad, though as others have said, they aren't the most exciting figures. Still, I'm hay to finally have them.

  3. Just found out that legendary Hulk and GI Joe artist Herb Trimpe died today. Link.

A few years ago, he was at Baltimore Comiccon, and my kid brother, who is a huge Hulk fan, wanted to meet him. Herb had a long line and had been signing all day, so he wanted to wrap things up. My brother was just after the cut off and was rather upset, saying that Herb was his favorite Hulk artist. Herb heard this and responded with a quick "and you are my favorite Hulk fan" and drew my brother a Hulk sketch for free. He was such a great guy.

This news makes me really sad. :(

  4. Well, it seems the post office has lost my Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch set. It went out for delivery at 9 am Tuesday morning and that was the last update. It hasn't shown up, and when I called the post office this morning to ask about it, they told me they'd check on it and call me back. That was 6 hours ago, and I've just now discovered that my post office has one of the lowest ratings in the country. Joy....

  5. Zak, maybe you should put your post in spoiler brackets, or move the rather big spoiler a bit further down in your post? All that can be seen from the front page is "NETFLIX Daredevil: Finish L..." so the spoiler warning is lost on a lot of people.

I just finished watching this myself. Overall, I enjoyed it very much. The fights were fantastic. The cast was very good. I loved Charlie Cox as Matt, and Elden Henson as Foggy was perfect. D'Onofrio's Kingpin took a little while to grow on me, but I liked him in the role by the end of it. Episode 9's meeting between Matt and Kingpin was the highlight of the season for me. Really loved the atmosphere of that sequence (really loved episode 9 in generally, to be honest).

As far as the death, I was disappointed to see it happen, but I could see why they did it. Prior to that moment, I felt just about as much sympathy for Fisk as I did Matt. After, I just wanted to see Matt kick Fisk's ass. I wish they could have pushed Fisk to the dark side some other way, but it wasn't a death without purpose at least.

  6. Zak, don't feel bad. I really shouldn't have been quite as harsh in my response. Changing the races of characters isn't something that should be done just for the sake of change. If the actor best for the role is of a differing race than the comic counterpart, that's one thing, but altering characters in the comics is a little different. Anyway, Vondie Curtis Hall is very good in the role, and I think he brings a lot of life to the character. I'm just starting episode 5 and I like what I've seen so far.
