Great set up Mattallica! The head for Fury is from Patch, correct?
-
IMO, the only thing Garfield has that Peter Parker has is that he is a twig. Parker should be a little diminutive teenager with a full face, not the banana head Garfield has, nevertheless, Garfield is 6'0 tall. Peter Parker never has been 6'0 TALL!! I think most people have already covered the problems with his haircut.
Full faced? Seriously? Was Tobey full faced? What the hell, he is a comic book character. Who cares about the haircut. It's a current look. What do you want him have, a Romita inspired spit curl? I'm looking forward to the movie. I dont care for the costume but like Batman Begins, I'm hoping it's more character driven and majority of the movie is out of the suit. But hey, I'm probably in the minority.
Also, should'nt we be having this conversation in the movie thread not the movie mate thread?
First, I never mentioned Toby, you did.
Second, the reason some of us do not like the haircut is exactly because of what you stated.
It makes him look NORMAL, not nerdy.
I admit, I do not think the movie looks promising, but that is only my opinion.
On the bright side, what does my dumbass know, I also thought casting Heath Ledger for the Dark Knight was a mistake, and looked how that turned out, I was wrong.
Trust me, once again, I hope I am wrong and this movie turns out to be amazing or spectacular (comic pun intended), however, I just have a bad feeling it will not be.
on a side note Zach, the minimates do look great!

I wonder if Batman will make an appearence considering Spider-Man is taking on Killer Croc?
-
Is it just me or do Mary Jane & Gwen need an up-date (J.J. got one).
-
Unless my eyes deceive me that costume is not classic comic book accurate and by the way looks absolutely hideous.
-
I really hope this movie will be good, although I hate to say it, but I think it will be one smelly terd.
-
As long as they make a Kazuya & Heihachi, I will be happy as hell!!!!!

Brock ended up getting cancer due to prolonged exposure to the symbiote suit. So, he auctioned it off, and a mob boss (Don Fortunato) bought it for his bitch of a son Angelo Fortunato. Well, the symbiote didn't like him so it dropped him to his death in a mid air swing. Then the suit went and found Gargan (Scorpion) and he basically let the suit control him completely. The dude was like a million times more monstrous than Brock ever was, actually went around eating people.
Well, eventually he was caught and turned into a Thunderbolt then a Dark Avenger. After the "Siege" event the government removed the suit from Gargan and made an attempt to militarize it with the former war hero (and leg less) Flash Thompson. Flash basically accepted the duty to get back in the field and also have temporary legs whilst wearing the suit. However, Flash is on a strict time period to wear the suit during missions, if he is in the suit for too long it takes control of his body and basically turns into what we know and love as Venom (like big bulky huge tongued Venom).
Now, where is Brock you say? Eddie is currently Anti-Venom. Apparently, remnants of the symbiote were still in his blood stream and reacted with his white blood cells when Mr. Negative got all negative on him. So, Brock is now cured of cancer and has the ability to basically cure most ailments and can also turn off some superpowers.
Thanks for the refresher. I was a little out of the loop on the newer story lines. I now have a bigger appreciation for the other figures in the set. However, I must admit the mega Venom is the one I am anticipating the most!

I guess I'll be the one to start this thread considering this is the Box Set I am anticipating the most. Thoughts, ideas?
-
Personally, I think box sets of Red Ghost & his Super Apes, Frightful Four, or a Blasstar-Ronan-Psycho Man-Annihilus box set would have sold better.
-
Thanks for the compliment Luke. I cannot wait to add the Shield agents from the custom case I ordered from you.
&
Patience wookie…patience…it only took my lazy ass 6 months to get that much done.
As for the museum feel, to who’s their own, what you may think looks cool, I might think looks ridiculous.
If I could make customs like Luke and Rheul, I would, however, if they are going to look like a ten year old tried to customize a mate then forget it that is not my idea of heart or style.
However, I have modified quite a few mates (see my thread on the Marvel board), but unfortunately, I have no room to display most of those.
In the future, if I can find more room (and time), I would like to pose most of my mates, but that is a project for another day (hopefully after I get through graduate school).
As for the Army builders, personally I like collecting those the most. It is all about preference.
-
I am in the same boat as dj87, Mystery Man, and Rheul. I got the Vallvik because I had no more room on my entertainment center for my Marvel mates. However, I will have to get another one just to house my DC, Universal monsters, MAX, Pirates,Capcom, movie, and Lord of the Rings mates.
-
When I looked at Basilisk's head from the Age of X box set (with the mask removed), I thought of a quick Johnny Storm modification.
Basically, Basilisk's head with any spare blonde Captain America hairpiece (I have too many to choose from) and a spare Mr. Fantastic body from the TRU series.
Presto, easy Johnny Storm!
Figured I would show a picture of ole Johnny (in the end I used an extra Iron Fist hair piece instead of Cap.
-
Well, I finally got my Vallvik from IKEA up and took some quick pictures of it, but first I wanted to show you how I changed up my entertainment center.
Every figure from the 616 Marvel Universe that has been produced is represented one time on my entertainment center (with army builders in the rear).
The rest of the Marvel minimates that have ever been produced including the Marvel Movie mates are on my Vallvik (except for the Gold & Silver Spider-Man Exclusives).
-
I have yet to find any of these TRU series 2 minimates in Houston yet, has anyone else found these lately?
-
Hmmm....
TRU Wave 15 - the cosmic wave!
Airwalker / Firelord
Kang / Space Armor Iron Man
Quasar / Ronan
Gladiator / modern Drax the Destroyer
You sir should be choosing the TRU waves with these excellent choices. On a side note who do I have to sleep with at DST to get a Gladiator made?
Which Gladiator? The Imperial Guardsman? Me. The Daredevil villain? Chuck.
Why the Imperial Gladiator of course, so get ready to pucker up sweetheart!
(p.s. just don't tell my wife)

My shop got in Kitt and the Femme box set today, but no Vendetta ship. Did anyone else's shop get the ship in today or was the release date for this pushed back?
-
Agreed, no duck feet. However, She-Hulk does seem to usually be wearing small white boots or white high-tops with this get up though, maybe I'll look for a spare Photon (for her white boots) on ebay. The boots should give her a little more height.
If you can find em, the Future McFly sneakers might look good. They're a bit bigger but look sporty - might suit Shulk?
Thanks for the heads up Nessex and Liney. I went to Ivan's to see the different pictures and agree, Marty's sneakers would be perfect!
-
You're right, I can't believe you are saying that. Unless they have a way to make duck feet look like high heels.
I am hoping you're right, Zach. Cause right now, that Doom cape looks bad. I don't remember it looking like that from the Con display.

i don't think she is smaller than chun-li or x-23. I'm pretty sure it's just the perspective making her look a little smaller.
There's definitely some scaling issues in Photoshop, but it may be a necessity of the Minimate body that she's a millimeter shorter than Chun-Li (who has a skirt piece) and Felicia (who has a tail). You can't really put in a spacer to give her height without giving her a giant belt or a bulky torso piece.
I can't believe I am saying this, but hopefully they throw in some duck feet.

Has anyone gotten this Quin jet yet?
