  1. Awesome Ultimate Colossus QC, mtd20_2000!

Thanks Nessex, I just used a Ultimate Cyclops wave 3 body, with wave 7 Silver Surfer arms, and a wave 13 Astonishing X-Men Colossus's head.

Did you by any chance see my "New" Storm on the bottom row. A Phoenix wave 6 body & a wave 3 Ultimate Storm's head for that one. It looks just like the one from the X-Men Darktide DVD.

  2. If you are going for the Giant Size X-Men Box Set do not forget that the figures in the set do not have C3 feet. If you want to get those figures with C3 feet you have to get the Target Group D figures. (which includes the elusive blue Professor X).

Here is a X-Men picture that includes some Wolverine's in the background thewatcher. Hope that helps.

  4. Nice pics and I like the display cases in the rear. Is that a yellow electric bolt for Electro?

Yup; just like the concept art, he gets 2 (??) yellow bolts that fit over his hands!! Storm will get the same; while i haven't bought Electro yet, because either he or Spidey SUCK in all the packs here, they are really nice looking pieces and can be used for, well, any kind of energy; hell, i plan to Sharpy a few green and give them to the Lanterns!! :P

Oh...pink ones might work for that new Surfer...

Yep their are two electric bolts for Electro. The display cases are like $7.99 or $6.99 (I forget which) from the container store. They are perfect for housing minimates.

  5. Thats a good price. I want to say that they were around 15 retail.

Thanks for the info arnim zolao. By the way have you ever seen the acrylic cases that have three tiers? They are perfect for minimates and are sold at the container store. Here is a picture of one. I think they are only like $7.99 or $6.99.

  6. I agree with NorthRaider that the wave 5 mask is a little bit darker shade of blue then the Heroes mask.

The best combination I got was using the wave 12 head of Captain America with the Heroes body and mask.

Here are some pics of the different Captain America's for reference. The only other alteration I did to any of my Cap's was add boots and a belt from an Invaders Captain to my wave 12 Captain.

  7. The Kraven on the left is a much lighter shade of orange (completely different paint) while the one on the right is a darker shade of orange.

In fact the entire paint job (arms, chest, etc...) for the Kraven on the left has a much lighter shade to it, but the extreme difference is evident on the pants.

For reference I'm pretty sure the minimate database review has a pic of the one on the right, while the minimate central review has a pic of the one on the left.

  8. Here is my first attempt at posting these....you should be able to tell the difference....However, the differences look even more obvious in person. I hope this helps!

The differences between the TRU Venom and the AFX Thunderbolt exclusive Venom:

The TRU Venom has a hole on the top of his head while the AFX Thunderbolt exclusive does not.

My tru Venom does not have a hole in his head. Which is more common?

As far as I can tell Colonel America I might be the only one to get a Venom with a hole in his head? I think the workers at the assembly plant got bored and just did it for the hell of it. Personally I do not like it, so your not missing much.

  9. With the FF I think they've done well -- Doom, Namor, Super-Skrull, Surfer and Galactus. Any truly major bad guys left? Mole Man I guess?

As far as major FF villains go, I think we still need Annihilus, Puppet Master, Mole Man, and Terrax. I also think that DST could make some amazing minimates of Blastaar, Dragonman, and Firelord. :)

I couldn't agree more! Dragon Man would have to have quite a bit of bulky parts, but seeing as how well the Iron Monger did with them, I think it's absolutely possible.

Mole Man w/a moleoid, Puppet Master, Annihilus, Blastaar, Terrax and Firelord would be great. Also, put me down for a Diablo!

We really need a Ronin the Accuser too. Especially since we're getting a kree soldier

Do not forget to add Psycho-Man, Mad Thinker, Red Ghost (added w/ Super Apes for a box set?), Frightful Four (box Set?), & Rama-Tut (w/ chase Kang?)

  10. Here's another TRU difference:

Wave 28 Wolverine, under the giant red-x belt piece he has a belt printed on his hip piece.

On the TRU version (unless mines an error) it's Blue, on the Wave 28 version it's red.

This made my day since I don't like the belt piece and when I took it off my TRU Wolverine thought "I wish they had made that red instead of blue..."

Wave 28 Wolverine for me had hairier arms, an extra pair of "normal" hands in the package, and had both of it's legs articulated with muscle (as opposed to just the right leg for the TRU version).

While the 1st and 3rd difference can be a quality control issue, the extra pair of hands was definitely a plus.

Sabretooth, on the other hand, had a paler yellow hair color in the TRU wave.

All of the above is correct (blue & red belt, hairy arms) but I also noticed that the TRU blue belt has a black crotch, while the wave 28 red belt has a blue crotch.

Plus I will try to do pics of the Kraven to show the differences in color in a few days. (thanks for the tip on how to post pics on here karamazov80)

  11. Wow, at this point I never expected to go into my TRU and find the BE/MS wave on the pegs but huzzah there it was! Got a BE/MS and the couple other packs I wanted from the wave. They moved around a lot of the Marvel aisle so I couldn't see the minimates for a second and was afraid maybe they were all gone. I guess I can just be happy that this wave showed up!

I can't decide if the slight variations on the Web Armor Spidey and Venom make it worth picking them up or not. I seem to remember someone posting about small variations on those and some others but I got the rest of the wave I just can't decide about that 2 pack.

The differences are the TRU Web Armor Spider-Man has silver on the top of his body and neck while the AFX one does not (black on top of his body and neck), also the paint job is a tad bit shinier on the TRU minimate and his eye outline is thinner.

    Hope that helps.

And also if you were wondering the The TRU Venom has a hole on the top of his head while the AFX Thunderbolt exclusive does not.

So I went back and picked up this two pack with the WA Spidey and Venom and I see the differences with Spidey but my Venom does not have a hole on the top of his head so is mine different or is there some other difference between the TRU one and the AFX one? (I am not at home to compare them yet so I am asking here).

I'm not sure if your Venom is the norm or not, but I do know my TRU Venom had a hole in his head, while my AFX Thuderbolt Venom did not.

  14. I called Corner Store today and cancelled my order (to my surprise they did so without charging me any additional fee) they were cordial and not combative. (probably because so many of you have already called and also cancelled your orders) Anyways, good thing I got a set of 25 from BBTS earlier, now I guess I'm on the lookout for the chase from 26 (since I can just get the rest from my TRU were many of the Wolverine movie mates are warming pegs)

  15. I actually called TRU and complained today about my mashed package (mostly because I paid the $5.00 shipping) and they appologized, told me it was a experiment the warhouse was trying, and that they would inform them it was not working. She then offered me two options,

1.) to send a pre-paid envelope to me and replace the item or

2.) reemburse me the shipping ($5.00) and credit me $5.00 off of the purchase. ($10.00 total)

I took them up on offer #2.

At least customer service did something about my problem instead of doing nothing, so I give them some props. Hopefully the warehouse will stop going the cheap route and start putting orders in boxes again.

  16. My package was also mashed, but the difference was I even paid for the shipping! (because I only purchased the Dark Avengers set and nothing else) I think I will have to complain, I mean $5 for shipping and they go the cheap route with an envelope? If I paid for shipping the least they could do is put it in a box.
