  1. VBPanizzi's desperately seeking ( perhaps stalking) Susan #17 image.

That picture is evil! Nice arranged and well done, VBPanizzi!

    Today's word is: mushroom

I guess it might be the jungle (#12) or camping thing (#22), or there were some skilled mushroom-turners at work (#24) :)

  2. No offense to Ivan, but... I don't
Maybe I was a little too enthusiastic on that one and you're right, blacksun ;)

    I missed the Fava beans
Yes, this Hannibal Lecter thing was quite an effort. I didn't find Fava-Beans here (Germany) at first, 'cos there are severel translations, but none of them were actualy available. Then I asked for them in a pakistani grocery and an old women repeated "fava, yes, yes. fava good! eat fava, yes yes!" and handed me a pack of beans. She looked kinda weired when I asked her for a bottle of chianti afterwards, gave it to me and pushed me softly to the checkout. yes, yes, fava good.

I felt a little like in a jim jarmusch movie ;)

  3. I suggest, you use this link here, which I do trust, because you don't have to download anything, except the video. Just copy/paste the url, klick on download and then right click, save as. After saving, rename the file as a xyz.flv file. now you have a working flash file, which you can watch at least on your computer. (for example with the vlc-player.) If you want to convert the flv to a wmv file, I'd use Super.

And you don't have to wait untill december for this one ;)

  4. well not to brag but... I did. :P
Wow! That makes you one of the half-a-dozen potential winners, I guess. I, as many around here, left out the celebrity pic which counts 25(!) points. 25 points ahead will be hard to catch up with.

Anyway, great fun and I'm still curious!

    :)

And, for the word of the day:

i think i get it!! does it have anything to do with #7 ?
    You can count me in.

    ;)

AH, and by the way: I want to see Ivan's pic for higher value challange #2!!!

  5. Man, there was some drama, action and stress close to the deadline I missed, because it was very early in the morning around here. But as it seems, 18 entered the competition, so good luck to all of you. And just for being curious, did anyone managed to take all 29 pics plus the link? (If it is allowded do talk about that yet.)

As for when the winners will be announced, it'll be at a least a week or two. There's a lot of copying of images, sorting, organizing and deliberation involved. After you guys put in so much effort it would be selling you short for us to cut corners doing our part.
For me, I'm very happy with this. Especially because:

I might even tease a picture a day or something to keep you from getting bored while you wait. ;)
    Yay!

From what I've seen there are some awesome pictures and I will get galleries up of all the contests soon.
    Yay, again! I'm pretty excited!
  6. Confirmation: As per last year I try to reply to everyone that sends in images, usually to clarify a point or check if they've missed something.

Okie Dokie. Thank you very much!

p.s. No one has sent entries so far....

Since it's late in the evening here, you'll get mine tomorrow.

  7. Hi.

I do like the Sentry a lot, but I'm not really pleased with the short haircut he comes with in the regular version. There are many illustrations by differenct artists, where he's pictured with his long blond hair even months after the raft thing. (like this one.)

So, I'd like to change that and hope, that someone can recommand a fitting hairpiece. I know, that the variant comes with long hair, but it looks way too shabby - dreadlockish? - for the golden guardian after his arrest.

Thor comes with a cool haircut, but I guess, hair and helmet are one piece, right?

    Thanks a lot!

  8. Seeing as we're talking about this I'm going to remind you to ensure you name your images so that we know which photo's are for which challenges, makes life a lot easier!

Do you want them named like "09-historic-moment" or "09-first-man-on-the-moon"? Like, you want to get it yourself, or should we spoil the images?

And, "as we're talking about this", I'd like to ask, if it's possible for you to send a short got-it-response, so that this rule #5 thing - "do not receive due to technical issues" - doesn't hit us. That would be nice, if it is manageable.

  9. NO idea who Shanester is....

He's no less than our illustrious leader and owner of the board.

    Eternal shame on me!

Thanks for the response and the link to the fabulous pics - including the #24 sicussion -, TBT!

Twisted Two-Face, I guess it's the one in the blue shirt on the left. Like the description says.

  10. It's really fun to participate and making these pictures, but I have a little problem with #14.

You see, it's hard to get some of the needed equipment and required accessoires here in Germany, but I have to admit, that I have absolutely no idea who Shanester is, so it's hard for me to tell my team mate, how he should prepare himself and method-act, pretending to be Shanester.

Could you please help a newbie out here?

  11. If I'm right, the song in the worst-ever-batman-movie is a different one. There the songe "The End is the Beginning is the End" was used, and for the - fantastic!!! - Watchmen trailer, a diffrent version of the song, with some different lyrics and darker mood, called "The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning" - Mr. Corgan is so tricky! - is used.

And even that song is cut-and-pasted to fit the scenes shown in the trailer even better.

Like, here are the original lyrics, and what you hear is:

    Send a heartbeat to

The void that cries through you (Archie finally rises from the sewer)

The pale princess (Silk Spectre appears) of a palace cracked (Nite Owl in the prison fight - Blake falls through the window)

And now the kingdom comes (Ozymandias in front of his videowall)

The world is lost and blown (Rorschach)

And we are flesh and blood (Silk Spectre) disintegrate (triple Manhatten)

And in your darkest hour (Comedians funeral)

I hold secrets flame (Comedian with a flamethrower)

We can watch the world devoured in its pain (the street riot)

    This is so awesome!

  12. I really enjoy the New Avengers very much. I like the new post-civil war team a lot. I also love the artwork by Leinil Yu, so it's pretty cool. But since I'm only reading the paperbacks here in Germany, I'm a little dragged behind the actual storyline. So please, don't get me any spoilers on that right now!

    ;)
