  1. I hate to admit it, but I've definitely lost a lot of passion for the line.  Some if it has been due to limited product releases (as a result of the loss of TRU and fewer waves per year).  I was pleasantly surprised to see a new GI Joe wave, and may even have to track down that set.

The thing that set Minimates apart from other products for me was the ability to produce newer costumes for established characters quicker than most other toy lines, while also showcasing the lesser known characters that may have never seen a toy release before.  We've seen less of that lately, but that may be the best way to bring the line to the forefront.  For example, Spider-Man has a new suit that has zero product as of right now.  The X-Men are seeing a push with recent story lines, resulting in new suits and alliances.  I think DST has a good relationship with Marvel, but seeing their big events and future plans would help them plan waves that are more topical - allowing them to reach a larger audience or be the first company to feature something "new".  I also wouldn't mind seeing a partnership with Kre-O or another block company - possibly providing the featured figure and creating C3 like playsets that would engage an entirely different market that hasn't seen Minimates before.  Unfortunately, I don't think there is a quick fix, but the more eyes they can get on the product, the better.

    You are forgiven .

Wave 11 is Parker/ Superior SM...........  Spider-Girl/Doc.Cock................ Black Panther/Shuri...........Cap/Peggy Carter.

I'm a little concerned where the Minimates/Walgreens line is going, are they trying to make the earlier web searches that brought up "personal massagers" more of a reality?

Na, I think it'll revert back to blue and red at the end. It seems all of these costumes are what he gets in Europe

Honestly, I could see the black and red suit sticking around, especially if this is the suit that it looks like he's designing in the trailers.

Two Spider-Man feature films in a row that aren't getting much product overall. Did Far From Home have much of a presence at Toy Fair?

It's just hard to fathom Chuck passing on both these flicks. Then again, DST settled for the comic version of The Walking Dead and classic Star Trek in lieu of Abrams' reboot.

Based on a lot of coverage I've seen from Toy Fair, Far From Home had a limited presence by Hasbro and Funko announced the first five FFH POP's and 1 POP key chain.  Pretty underwhelming overall, but we may see more product after Avengers: Endgame gets released.

As much as I love ST:TNG there’s no way product from that show will be a success in a mass market store like Walmart in 2018.

No Star Trek merchandise will be a success in a mass market store unless Trek becomes much more popular. Figures from the Abrams Trek were a dud, so was the Kreo line and Mega Bloks sets.

I honestly feel like the only successful ST line was the original Playmates line from late 1992.  It was the only ST line that I fully collected and I had figures lining my room.  Given the current action figure market, and the popularity of Marvel and DC figures, there doesn't seem to be a lot of room for nearly any other property - Star Wars included.  Without a marketable property to reach kids (something Discovery isn't), it's difficult to even think about decent sales for almost any ST figure, especially since most of the core characters have been produced over and over again.  As much as I would love to see ST recover and be successful, it's hard to fathom given the current toy environment.

Off-topic, but... I work for main event entertainment now. That's like a ChuckyIt's like a Chuck-E-Cheese for older kids, or a Dave & Buster's that's more geared towards the whole family. If you're in the Indianapolis area, stop in and ask for Jason. Let me know you're from the Multiverse and I'll try to hook you up as best I can

Congrats man!  Glad to hear that the job hunt went well!

  7. Stopped at my nearest Walgreens tody and found the same 8 or sets that have literally been sitting there for months.  This is a store that never received in any of the Infinity War waves, none of the last two animated waves and took around 2-3 months to finally get the last Ultimate Spidey wave in store.  For a product that has been successful, it's becoming harder and harder to find.  Even eBay has become unreliable, as the most recent waves have had very limited figures available or at a significantly higher price.  This isn't the only product Walgreens has had issues distributing (POP's come to mind), but at least there they've moved to the online storefront and allowed for these items to become more easily attainable.  I hope that they do something similar with minimates if they are going to continue supporting this line.

I haven't even found wave 8 yet, but I'm I've been lucky to find a set of the Infinty war wave 2 out of the 10 stores I visted damn you walgreens.

Same here for Wave 8.  Walgreens has to be losing quite a few sales by not being able to distribute this line in a timely fashion or to a majority of their stores.  It seems as though as soon as a Wave sells through, they inundate the store with older waves, which removes them from potentially getting the newer figures in the line.  As a result, the waves get stuck warming the pegs and frustrates their customers actually looking for the product, leading to fewer and fewer visits (at least that's been my experience).  I'm not sure how else to tell a company that I would love to do business with them and track down products I enjoy (minimates and POP's), yet very rarely do I ever find said products in store.  So frustrating....

  9. I broke down and wound up picking up Stealth Spidey and Spider-Gwen individually, but still wouldn't mind finding either/both these sets complete.  Very frustrating that Walgreens still haven't figured out how to appropriately distribute their product across their stores, especially after being able to find the previous 2-3 releases fairly easily.

    What if?…
… Conan the Barbarian were trapped in the 20th Century?
… Spider-Man joined the Fantastic Four?
… No One was watching the Watcher?
… The Hulk was a Barbarian?
… Venom Had Possessed the Punisher?
… the Avengers Had Fought Evil in the 1950's?

I’m sure there’s more, but I’d love a What If wave of Alternate looks.

Really love this idea.  The What If? series was one of my favorites growing up and often introduced new and different costumes.

For as much hate as I may get for this: I want the Clone Saga.

The Jackal, Kaine, Spidercide, Judas Traveller, Scrier, Grim Hunter, Seward Trainer. Then we could get an updated Ben Reilly as Spider-man, and include parts to turn him into Spider-Carnage.

Admit it, you know it would be awesome.

    Seconded!

I would also like to see:

    - Slingers/Identity Crisis

    - Webspinners of Spider-Man - primarily for the Spider-Man Unlimited suit that they introduced

    - Venom - Separation Anxiety

    - X-Men - the late 90's "new" team with Magott, Marrow, etc.

    - X-Men - Joe Mad designs, primarily the Shi'ar stories and the Trial of Gambit

    - Nightwatch - literally any story that would give me a Nightwatch figure

    - Mutants vs Ultras - a long shot, but it would allow for characters like Prime, NightMan, Hardcase, Mantra, Prototype and others to make an appearance

Interesting.  I wonder if these will start showing up at Luke's or via Previews or EE like some of the other TRU exclusives.
