  1. I loved the MAX stuff and still have way too much.  My son loves it too.  He has all the pirate ship and the planes.  He really gets imaginative with them.  Battle Beasts are cool, but the figures themselves are clunky and hard to pose, IMO.  Some of them like the birds, walrus and ram are great.  The scorpion and insect, not so much.  I plan to let him have spare TMNT space stuff so he can add space suits to his figure.

  2. I was doing the same as Tenime and got nailed with some shipping costs that ended up costing me money.  Shipping out of the US is hard to calculate in advance, especially if you are trying to use combined shipping.  Even shipping outside the continental US is tricky.  I have be nailed on shipped to Hawaii that ended up killing my sale.  I don't sell on Ebay to make money and can handle selling things for a loss sometimes, but I don't want to end up not only giving the item away, but paying out of pocket to ship it.

All that said, I understand the bad side of the GSP.  I imagine I have possibly lost sales over it, but I am okay with that.  It is a decision I have made.  But to be honest, I still sell to folks outside the USA all the time.  I just sent a Hot Toys part to Japan via GSP and got no complaints.

  3. IMO, as well painted as Binoboi's Sentinels are painted, $100 is not bad.  I don't like the bolts showing at the joints, but it looks to me that he has put in a lot of quality work for that $100.  The mass produced Maximates were not $50 so why would a quality custom be?

  4. This actually is old news and seems to form two camps in every forum I visit.  I understand all the issues with it and if I were a buyer outside of the USA and was faced with the disadvantages the GSP carries, I probably would just not buy from that seller.  It seems that simple to me.

As an occasional seller, I appreciate the benefits of the GSP.  People often claim that shipping outside of the US can't be difficult because it is not difficult to ship outside of their own country.  Well, I am here to tell you that it is a pain in the ass.  I have never been flat out ripped off (yet) over a foreign transaction, but there have been some close calls that would have been totally eliminated for me using GSP.  For example, I sold a vintage action figure for a substantial amount of money to a fellow in the UK.  Tracking out of the USA really only shows that it was shipped, but rarely anything once the item leaves the USA.  Three months go by and the guy did not get his item and is understandably upset.  Without using the GSP, I was threatened with having the funds taken back from me but I didn't do anything wrong and had proof I shipped the item.  Long story short, the item finally showed up and the buyer saw that I did in fact ship right away and the item was just held up by UK Postal System.  Happy ending.  I dodged a bullet there, but what about the next time?  Using the GSP, once the item leaves my hands and goes to the Postal Office, I am safe from loss.  If the item gets lost during transit, the GSP pays out to the buyer and both parties are protected.  Yes, the GSP costs more in shipping for the buyer and there could be tariffs, but shipping outside your home country is more expensive anyway.  If it makes the item too expensive, pass it by.  You don't have to like it.  I don't like paying sales taxes in the US, but its just part of deciding to buy or holding off for a better deal.

That said, there is no excuse for hidden fees.

Shane, is the MMMV bugged?  I'm starting to get the impression that Hasbro is listening to this forum in hopes to steal some business.

Honestly, I don't always recognize names or email addresses when members sign up AND guests can view some areas without signing up at all, but I do know DST is not the only retailer/producer that comes here.

  6. More of Marvel flushing their universe down the toilet.  Hulk is Banner and Banner is Hulk.  He is green, indestructible and always will be.  Every time they mess with this, I lose interest.  I think it is their intention, so win for them.  They seem to want a new audience and that is what they are likely to get, if they get one at all. /rant

  7. Thanks for doing that Lurch.

On another note, I am looking into threads that are not working.  If there is a thread you can see but will not cooperate, let me know.  At the same time, feel free to recreate the thread.

Being perfectly honest about this whole situation, I think we (as a community) got off lightly.  The upgrade to the new software really wreaked havoc on the databases and their stability, but we came out of it functional and that is more that some can say.  I continue to work on things and plan to add more themes (new name for skins).  I know some folks like the darker feel.  I don't know about an app yet, but all themes will be tablet and smart phone compatible.

If you have a specific request, feel free to let us know and we will see about implementing it.  Luke's Toy Store banner is not there, but it will be back as soon as we can get it straight.  I think he has a few things on his plate at the moment.
