  1. being in the UK, it'll probably be another week before my regular ebay place of purchase has these in stock. in anticipation for trouble, i've got hold of a few multiple men on ebay US, one of which even came with the variant Angel (which... having recently got hold of the Champions, i have absolutely no interest in). I feel as though this may be the first variant i end up with multiples of, and can't even give away

1st appearance X-Men have been near the top of my want list for a few years now, but at the first sign of trouble getting hold of SA Angel, i'll simply abandon any interest in the box set, save me a lot of time/hassle/money.

its a shame that so far, all the armies i've wanted to build so far, i've had little/no interest in the accompanying standard or variant figure.

  2. that new flash ring looks incredible, i had v.much been planning on getting my hands on the new series, so that a huge added bonus. is that GL ring exactly the same though?

oh, and i've got my beautiful set of BN rings in front of my now. I used a little silver paint to bring out the symbols on them... they're so pretty!

  3. personally, i think i'll be leaving the jean/hellfire and variant... never even heard of her. v.excited about the rest of them, especially Cyclops... absolutely fantastic. shame about the no JL Jean, but i'm a big fan of the Secret Invasion Pheonix mate, so that'll do. Give me Jubilee or a villain, and I'll be chuffed... CHUFFED!

  4. i've also had my eye on that set from play... thing is, they've already moved that 'release' date back three times over the summer. that has happened in the past with another box set, which, in the end... was never available on play.

  5. they are fantastic (oh dear)

i does seem about time we got a new F4, and if these got an official release, i'd snap 'em up straight away. I had no idea these guys ever wore black... when was this?

They wore black during John Byrne's run in the 80's. They tended to be highlited with blue, however Byrne has said that he always intended the costumes to be black, not blue like most people assume they were.

thanks, i think they look great in black. it is funny how some things are interpreted like that, black hair is/was often highlighted blue, but no one would think it was some fancy dye-job. incidentally, Batman was the same, he was never intented to be grey and blue, but grey and black... twas just the highlighting

  6. here are a few things i've got done during a busy summer working:

first off, I made small alterations to Super Boy (head) and Black Canary (sleeves)

    DSC01109.jpgDSC01108.jpg

    Green Lantern - Alan Scott

seems to be a popular recipe, Aquaman parts, plus an Ocean Master cape (which I remembered to paint green on the inside). Belt from... somewhere.

    DSC01102.jpg

    Superman-Prime

with all these GLs, Sinestro needs buddies (i'm also working on a Parallax and Anti-Monitor). Head, hair and belt from BD Superman.

    DSC01118.jpg

and, as the GLC is severely lacking in female representation...

    Arisia

Power Girl head & hair, and cut-down Nina (24) skirt piece.

    DSC01117.jpg

    Natu

BSG (Apollo?) hair, modified Scarlet Witch face and cut down Star Sapphire collar.

    DSC01107.jpg

having made a few villains to keep Batman busy, it was Superman's turn...

    General Zod

v.modified Dr.Strange head and Mary Marvel skirt piece, with that balding hair piece a few 24 mates have.

    DSC01105.jpg

    Parasite

classic comic look. completely repainted Bullseye (old one, obv.)

    DSC01103.jpg

    Metallo

tiny modifications to the Half Human Terminator... bit of green in the eye and chest, for Kryptonitesque effect

    DSC01106.jpg

    enjoy! comments always welcome

  7. so... they get twice as many rings as the associated comic, as it were? I'd hope that means a purchase of that comic would guarantee a ring, but its down to the retailer's discretion what the y actually do with the rings? Is that right?

I see... well, quite frankly... i'd like one of each.

didn't a v.similar Green ring come with GLC#1 a while ago? I've been looking at them on ebay

  8. i can't tell whether anyone suggesting John Barrowman are joking or not. if not... god help you all

i reckon they'll cast someone late 20s-mid/early 30s... who looks a bit younger, and probably make little/no referrence to his age on screen. as for size, surely he'll have to film the scenes before the Serum first, so shouldn't affect their choice, casting-wise. Being British, i really don't mind what nationality the actor is, but i can see why those in the US would feel quite strong about it... Cap essentially is the stars and stripes.

the guy from supernatural pretty much has that sort of look, and isnt a terrible actor... some of the other rumours have made me cringe. I really can't think of anyone who stands out as obvious... i trust them to get it right, wouldn't be suprised at all if it was someone i'd never heard of. Would be a similar sit as Brandon Routh in Superman (also, the training program he was put through was incredible, the guy seemed to literally double in size, despite being rather athletic before hand.)

Last off... i'd say cap should probably be built similar to a linebacker in american football, perfect blend of sheer strength and althetism

  9. as we've entered box set territory, i'll say what i say in every thread involving 'wants, etc.'

    Blob, Toad, Pyro, Avalanche

if a wave coming out at a similar time happened to include Sinister, Jubilee and Banshee, well... that'd be nice

i'd also punch a baby for a Wrecking Crew set.

  10. A quick scan of ebay completed listings will confirm that Moonstone sets are continually dropping in price http://completed.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw...g=50&_rdc=1 ....... an average price of about $15.

Moonstone sets are without doubt the most prolific Minimate variant set on ebay , I'll go as far as saying that I've never seen a Minimate variant set as widely available on ebay ever before . Either the scalpers got them all or there were loads produced ...... I tend to feel that there is 'middle ground' where my 2 theories blend.

I'm not sure whether history will repeat itself in the next TRU Marvel Wave but I just thought I'd mention those points.

i've been watching closely, and had sort of noticed this. managed to get the 2-pack with a Thunderbolts box set the other day for the price some BE/MSs

were going for. i am v.proud, though

Bah! So it was YOU who outbid me!

'My Name is Nathaniel Essex, you took my Moonstone. Prepare to Die!'

(Well done mate - that was a nice set & a very decent price)

haha, oh... sorry Ness. I was determined. I'll look after them, treat 'em real good i will, promise

  12. i'd been following that auction, and a little earlier tonight was having a good laugh with my family that someone had spend $600 on 2" of plastic.

jokes aside, congratulations on winning, and i hope you're v.happy with your purchase... what price can you put on happiness?

    ...other than, $600

EDIT: to answer your question, i first got into minimates in 2007, a few days after i'd received my student loan. i managed to spend the equivilent of approx. $300 in 3-4days, playing catch up on ebay. in my defence, the dollar was v.v.weak at the time
