  1. Just to weigh in here, at the request of Urban Saboteur:

    - These figures were never slated for mass. Minimates were only going to specialty retailers at this point, not Toys "R" Us.

    - Without sharing these figures with Toys "R" Us, the production would have hinged entirely on the specialty orders. I'm actually surprised they reached the test shot stage.

    - DST is NOT set up to sell direct-to-consumer in any sort of real numbers. Selling direct-to-retailers is the best we can do, and based on the mixed reactions from serious Minimate collectors on these forums, I doubt fan response would have been much different than the retailers' commitment.

    - Windows for the movies are limited, so we can definitely not produce these figures any more.

    - I do not believe there were ever any plans to do GR2 Minimates, possibly due to the initial reaction to these figures, and the generally low expectations for the sequel.

    - While I personally did not care for the first movie, I am looking forward to the second. Big Crank/Gamer fan.

Should we be safe to assume no Spider-Man mates for the new movie either?

  2. Got mine off ebay a couple weeks ago as my TRU, which has gotten every wave ever, seems to have finally been overstocked with all the left overs. No new mates, which usually show up same week it hits the web. Got a bad feeling new mates are going to be hard to find from now on.

  3. I already received an awesome gift from my secret Santa a week or so ago. So I wasn't expecting anything else. Then on Christmas Eve I cam home from work and another package from my Secret Santa was on my kitchen counter. I ripped it open and so an awesome Deadpool shirt. Sweet! However wrapped in the shirt was a Christmas miracle. My secret Santa had created for me Carl, the Coal crushing elf. Not only did I get a sweet custom minimate but a bio card. A lot of work went into this gift and whoever was my secret Santa thank you so much. You made my Christmas Eve and opened my mind up for many adventures of Carl in future Minimate Theatres. Thank you so much! I owe you big time!

  4. got my surprise from my Secret Santa over the weekend while I was out of town. it was really a surpise. I saw the package, thinking "I didnt order anything". So I has happy to see toys! Not sure who the member here is but I have your real name.....your time is limited. (until I found out who you are! :) )

    2011 Lion-O

    Marvel Vs. Capcom - Deadpool/Dante

    Marvel Vs. Capcom - Magneto/Zero

    Thanks! Just what I wanted! :) :)

Well good to see that you received your Secret Santa package and it was something you really wanted. Though I doubt you'll figure it out since no one usually has a user name so close to their real name. I mean really who does that? ;)

  5. Is it weird my first thought when I saw their sales page was “they STILL have Buffy Palz?!”

did they WAY over order those or do people just not want them?

What's even weirder is I bought that set from them like 4 years ago and only paid 2.99 for it. How can they justify bumping the price back up that high?

  6. Updated 11/7/11 - #101: Off the Wagon

After the events of Fear Itself, Tony Stark is off the wagon again and driving the Avengers crazy.

Just read #101 and I totally believe that last panel is what happened.

    Great stuff.

Hahah thanks Geohound. When you really think about it the DCnU is pretty much Stark's heaven. single heroes and loose heroines.
