  1. Cool customs! I have a few of Wood's artbooks and had followed the toys but steered clear because of price, but then I finally caved on a couple of the more colourful 1/12 figures a while back. I've also got a few preorders in for the upcoming retail carded Action Portable figs. That little battlefield beagle they released recently was pretty awesome too, so I hope we get a 1/12 of her down the line.

Oh and I'm excited to see how their Dredd figure turns out, and maybe the Spidey.

  2. I agree, BUT it was an awesome teaser at least! That open world and character model for Link both look so cool.

I've been watching the live stream of that weirdo squid shooter game the last couple of days, and that actually looks pretty fun too.

  3. Usually when someone steps over a line into rudeness or personally attacking our peeps at DST/Zach, they're quickly called out on it by other members and staff -- I wasn't saying Zach should have to "take" that kind of thing, not at all, I was saying he has shown time and again that he can take the general discussion of things members are unhappy about without getting mad or quitting the board. I don't think discussing what we like and don't like about product choices is disrespectful to those making the choices. It's just, like, our opinion, man.

  4. Yeah, but he also has no obligation to be here, I somehow suspect that in his employee duties it is not listed that he post on this message board. I know most people are well versed in how to complain without being petty or personal, but not everybody is, take a look in the TRU thread in Crisis if you don't believe me.

There's nothing wrong with expressing a concern, and we are lucky that Zach is trying to see if there's a way to fix it, but I have a feeling that listening to people complain constantly would get old for anybody, and since he has no obligation to us, if it gets to be too much of a hassle he'll just stop posting.

Yeah I guess, I just wonder how many years he'll have to post here before any significant complaint or dispute isn't followed by several "guys let's not drive Zach away" type posts. I don't mean to single out those posts this time, I just find it odd that it's still a trend at this point. I mean, he posts on way harsher boards than this one -- Zach's tough, he can take it! (Realllllly hoping he doesn't quit the board right after I post this.)

  5. Most of the blind boxes I buy are glued shut and have a sealed opaque bag inside to prevent shenanigans. Not that that would stop an in-store opener (I'm truly surprised to hear that's a thing! The thieves who stick a crappy old figure into new packaging and return it are bad enough.), but you'd at least know if it's been tampered with. That's with vinyl art toys though, I'm not sure if any of the current batch of mass-produced toys have gone with boxes over bags?

    Avada Kadavra!

Careful with that Zach, are you trying to kill the thread?! sorcerer.gif

  6. I guess, if that's what you meant. A lot of those movies weren't really adaptations of specific comic stories though anyway. And the Avengers comic wave did have Cap/Thor/Hulk/IM in stores alongside movie Cap/Thor/Hulk/IM. And the Thor Stormbreaker set had comic Sif and Loki. And if we go way back, the Wolverine-branded comic wave that came out with X-Men Origins did have Deadpool in it. I don't think we'll get DOFP, but I don't think it's impossible or anything.

  7. I could see a Wes Anderson version of Fraction's Hawkeye, the Clint half or the Kate half (or the Pizza Dog half). Or a Future Foundation movie. Or just a movie about the downtime in Avengers mansion.

  8. Besides, we almost never get comic version of film characters in the same year. Case in point GotG and Spider-Man 2.

Pretty sure we had a comic Iron Man wave when IM2 came out, a comic Cap/Thor wave when those two came out, a comic Avengers wave when that came out, a comic Wolverine SDCC set when that one came out last year...

  9. He can't structure or write events to save his life (I'd say House of M and Seige are the only two that kind of work, a bit). He clearly struggles with team books, although his X-Men titles are a massive improvement on most of the Avengers stuff. He writes great solo titles (Alias, Daredevil, Moon Knight, Ultimate Spidey both OG and Miles). Age of Ultron was terrible. I gather Angela was thrown in at the end by editorial to woo Gaiman back to the company.

AND I was just about to mention Austen's X-Men run as the official worst superhero comics ever, but bigvis beat me to it! thumbsup.gif

  10. YB, if nostalgia was a motivating factor, you might want to try these NES Remix games. I haven't played them yet but they got good reviews and look like a fun concept, basically repurposing all the old 8-bit games into mini challenges.

if you're interested. I think they also came out with a Dr. Luigi download a while back.
  11. And the '90s. And the 2000s. And the right nows.

That's probably true, but no one wants those, so no biggie.

I think Rogue's done much better than many Marvel characters on the new costume front, they could totally do a Rogue Through The Decades set. Her scarf costume from Legacy was great, the current hooded look in Uncanny Avengers, her OG costume to go with the Secret Wars mates...

We already have a great Jim Lee costume, so my other '90s fave would be this:

...it's a bit objectifying I guess, but they could always pair her with this Hawkeye, to even things out:

  12. That lion looks really cool, but I'm glad I don't know the character enough to need one -- I don't know when I started spending all my money on Transformers, but in the past few weeks I got the MP Starscream reissue, 3rd party Huffer, Takara Rhinox and Waspy. And I liked those last two so much I just got a Telemocha Primal to go with them.

Didn't think I was going to be interested in the upcoming Ultra Magnus MP, but the new shots of him look great, and MTMTE has made me like the character a lot more.
