  1. I'm REALLY shocked by the Bendis hate. I get not loving him in a greater Moon Knight context, maybe? But to me as a relative novice, it was a really fun/weird tale.

I feel like a good 50% of the internet is Bendis hate, at least in terms of comic book discussion. I really enjoyed that Moon Knight series, but admittedly I had zero attachment to the character going in.

  2. There was one 2 weeks ago, but if that was around the time you submitted a question it might have been after they were already forwarded to Chuck. Which should mean it gets bumped to the next Minimates batch like Shane said. I had a question go unanswered earlier in the year and my second attempt (exact same question) showed up in the last Q&A. I'm just saying I doubt it was dodged, more likely it was either bumped or missed by mistake.

  3. I think Gwen and Spider-Punk were the best looks to come out of Spiderverse, that SP//dr issue was pretty cool too although he'd need a ton of tooling. Throw in a 2099 or the Barton Spider-Girl from Old Man Logan... as long as the poll didn't include a regular 616 Parker they couldn't really go wrong.

  4. Don't usually collect stuff this scale, but I had to pick up a Hellcat when I saw one yesterday. She's pretty great, my only quibble is them using yellow paint over dark blue on the top of her shins for some reason, when the rest of her is yellow plastic, but it's not that noticeable. Of course now that I know how good her costume looks as a toy I want a Minimate even more...

  5. Outside of Minimates I'm not on the American TRU site much at all, but I was browsing some Nintendo toys earlier today and saw several items limited to 10 or 5 or 3 per customer. I mean I know Pokemon is a much bigger blip on the corporate TRU radar than Minimates, but I just wonder whether that restriction is applied by request from the manufacturer or as a response to customer complaints or what?

  6. I really just want a regular George McFly, but he's probably got the same odds of showing up as Janine did for the Ghostbusters anniversary last year. With all the animal accessories lately maybe we'll get an Einstein (or Copernicus) though, that'd be a nice addition.

  7. Better Call Saul keeps getting better. Loved last night's episode but I'm a big fan of Mike Ehrmantraut. (Minimates, please.)

It was so good. I thought this show sounded like a bad idea when they announced it, but it's my favorite thing on right now. At least until Community starts.

  8. Mine was Spidey 2099 (same as my first superhero comic from that other thread). I think I must have seen him while I was buying Muppets figures at a comic shop, and then grabbed another few packs I liked soon after. I actually came across an old 2004 photo recently that shows my original "display" in the background:

It was another couple of years before I really started collecting them and found this place.

  9. I think this was my first comic:

It was a UK magazine-size collection that reprinted stuff from licensed TV comics mostly, but with some Spidey and Death's Head thrown in.

The first proper title I 'collected' was probably ALF or the Archie Ninja Turtles comic or Groo -- I never had consecutive issues though because they were picked up at random news stands.

The first superhero comic I bought and followed was Spider-Man 2099 from issue 1. Similar to Nessex, I knew a lot about Marvel comics going in from collecting a ton of trading cards, plus I'd "read" the Secret Wars Sticker Book:

And this old prose book I had when I was even younger:

Wish I still had all this stuff!
