The second Ghostbusters Minimates release, this all-star box set features the rest of the Ghostbusters team plus two of the most dangerous paranormal beings you'll ever meet! Complete with removable Minimate proton packs, neutrino wands and ghost traps, this set includes Dr. Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore, the all-powerful Gozer and the infamous Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man!

Looks like the TRU wave 2 Ray is the only way to get the ecto-goggles.

  2. Like the bulky chests though, it's just not enough to turn me off the line... I never thought Murray would sign off on any figures, so I'll take gray, bulky-chested, hard-to-find-exclusive ones with a smile :)

Most definitely! I would've collected the line with the same amount of enthusiasm irregardless of jumpsuit color or bulky-chest pieces.

    ...heh...bulky-chests....

  3. When I spoke of other product, I was also including the Halloween costumes and really any sort of artwork.

Halloween costumes aren't exactly the best thing to go by...especially if they have an additional no-ghost patch in place of the nametag. :P

As for artwork, that's been a mixed bag. In the Legion comic book series, the jumpsuits were a blue-ish gray while in the recent Other Side series, it went from deep tan to being "olive". Promotional material for the first movie have them as gray-ish colors.

If anything, the merchandise up until now have been rather inconsistent with jumpsuit colors.

EDIT: Looking at the packaging pics now, the colors aren't as bright as they are in the promo pics. Gah.

    EDIT:

Maybe it's not right, but we as a fandom have agreed that the suits are tan.

Actually, the fandom generally agrees that the jumpsuits are khaki in color, as evidenced by the GB prop-building site GBFans.

  4. Mattel has only shown prototypes thus far and only Spengler was painted. He was a light brown.

    Actually...

His jumpsuit color is pretty close to the minimate's.

I'm glad they're doing the correct colors, it always drove me crazy when they were colored light-brown. Heck, looking at the theatrical poster I have hung up in my room, they have the gray colors.

Putting the color issue aside for the moment, do we know if the proton packs still have a string attaching the thrower to the pack? It was mentioned in a recent blog on AA's site, but I haven't seen the string in any of the promo shots.

I'm actually quite curious about this myself. I wonder if this was scrapped?

  5. I couldn't help but notice Winston's...um...odd pose:

    EDIT:

They're sure making it easier for me to turn down Mattel's likely way-too-expensive-online-only figures in favor of just getting the Minimates. I'll probably end up spending just as much, but I'll be drowning in Mates rather than merely completing the team. We've seen most of the guys in uniforms from both movies, plus messy variants in-between, a handful of very welcome secondary characters, and a pile of ghosts - all before a single one has gone up for sale.

While its really cool that DST/AA has much more variety at the moment, I can't help but look forward to the six-inch stuff especially the Real Ghostbusters figures they'll be putting out after the movie ones.

  6. HA. Found 'em!

Check it out over at GBcollector.com!

    - Orange ghost comes with Courtroom Bust Venkman

    - Library ghost comes with normal Egon

    - Slimer comes with Slimed Venkman

    - Stay-Puft comes with Marshmallow-Covered Ray

    - Terror Dog comes with GB2-Jumpsuit Winston (He's mustacheless too! Cool!)

    Awesome!

  7. ... why am I getting the feeling that we might see a TRU exclusive Janine?

I hope so! I would, however, prefer the GBII look as it best represents Janine and kinda bridges her Real Ghostbusters look with Annie Potts.

Man, this is a great time to be a Ghostbusters fan.

EDIT: For those of you who are wondering who the brown-ish ghoul is, he might be the giant spook from Ghostbusters II's "Flip City" montage.

  8. These look fantastic!

If Mattel wasn't already coming out with a line of toys, these would be my dream GB figures.

And the khaki on the figures is actually the correct color. Different lighting in the movies make it difficult to tell but those are the right colors.

...now I'm gonna have to get triples of these so I can have two terror dogs. :P
