No, the powerhouse chest and proton pack are different pieces, just glued together. I found that out the hard way and had to glue it back on.

Best minimates ever!
-
I wouldn't worry too much about a shortage of the video game boxsets. I remember reading somewhere they had like 6,500 Slimer statues shipped out to Amazon to pack into the sets. One would assume that the same amount of minimate sets were produced.
-
Nope, the barrel faces down with the chord going up.
Here's the picture demonstrating it from AA's blog:

Awesome! I'm waiting for Toy Rocket to ship my set. (they've already charged my card, so I assume they already did.) Hopefully they'll be here by Monday.
Just one tiny nitpick: You guys have the nuetrona wands upside down on the packs.
-
The answer about a minimate-esque BttF DeLorean has me all giddy now.
-
Oh man, I really really hope these are going to be available separately.
Maybe they're saving them for a possible third wave down the line?
-
I didn't see anything at mine.
...where would these be located at if they were in stock? Next to the Marvel stuff?
-
I am willing to bet that the game is not going to be as good as everyone thinks. I hope I am wrong but I doubt it. Hype kills.
I dunno, early reviews (actual reviews, not previews mind you) are indicating its a really good game.
-
...Am I the only person who wants to get the Slimer edition of the game for everything including the game itself?
I used to have the Wii version reserved but after seeing so much stuff coming out, I had to cancel the pre-order.
-
Like the bulky chests though, it's just not enough to turn me off the line... I never thought Murray would sign off on any figures, so I'll take gray, bulky-chested, hard-to-find-exclusive ones with a smile
Most definitely! I would've collected the line with the same amount of enthusiasm irregardless of jumpsuit color or bulky-chest pieces.
...heh...bulky-chests....
-
When I spoke of other product, I was also including the Halloween costumes and really any sort of artwork.
Halloween costumes aren't exactly the best thing to go by...especially if they have an additional no-ghost patch in place of the nametag.
As for artwork, that's been a mixed bag. In the Legion comic book series, the jumpsuits were a blue-ish gray while in the recent Other Side series, it went from deep tan to being "olive". Promotional material for the first movie have them as gray-ish colors.
If anything, the merchandise up until now have been rather inconsistent with jumpsuit colors.
EDIT: Looking at the packaging pics now, the colors aren't as bright as they are in the promo pics. Gah.
EDIT:
Maybe it's not right, but we as a fandom have agreed that the suits are tan.Actually, the fandom generally agrees that the jumpsuits are khaki in color, as evidenced by the GB prop-building site GBFans.

Mattel has only shown prototypes thus far and only Spengler was painted. He was a light brown.
Actually...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/Brad.../sdcc09egon.jpg
His jumpsuit color is pretty close to the minimate's.
I'm glad they're doing the correct colors, it always drove me crazy when they were colored light-brown. Heck, looking at the theatrical poster I have hung up in my room, they have the gray colors.
Putting the color issue aside for the moment, do we know if the proton packs still have a string attaching the thrower to the pack? It was mentioned in a recent blog on AA's site, but I haven't seen the string in any of the promo shots.I'm actually quite curious about this myself. I wonder if this was scrapped?
-
Stay Puft looks like he was kicked in his marshmallowy nether-region:
Exactly what I thought when I saw it.
The sunglasses-Venkman-head could make for a cool "The Other Side" comic book custom.
I just hope the 2-pack will be easy to get a hold of...
-
I couldn't help but notice Winston's...um...odd pose:
EDIT:
They're sure making it easier for me to turn down Mattel's likely way-too-expensive-online-only figures in favor of just getting the Minimates. I'll probably end up spending just as much, but I'll be drowning in Mates rather than merely completing the team. We've seen most of the guys in uniforms from both movies, plus messy variants in-between, a handful of very welcome secondary characters, and a pile of ghosts - all before a single one has gone up for sale. While its really cool that DST/AA has much more variety at the moment, I can't help but look forward to the six-inch stuff especially the Real Ghostbusters figures they'll be putting out after the movie ones.
-
So now we only need Egon to complete the GB2 charcoal jumpsuits.
I wonder where they'll be selling this one...
-
Ha, they responded to my question about the GB mates.
-
Well, we'd only need Egon and Winston to complete that one. Peter only had some marshmallow in his hair...hey, that would only require a new hairpiece.
I can't wait for more of the GBII stuff. Vigo and Slime-Thrower Ray & Winston, please!
-
HA. Found 'em!
Check it out over at GBcollector.com!
- Orange ghost comes with Courtroom Bust Venkman
- Library ghost comes with normal Egon
- Slimer comes with Slimed Venkman
- Stay-Puft comes with Marshmallow-Covered Ray
- Terror Dog comes with GB2-Jumpsuit Winston (He's mustacheless too! Cool!)
Awesome!

... why am I getting the feeling that we might see a TRU exclusive Janine?
I hope so! I would, however, prefer the GBII look as it best represents Janine and kinda bridges her Real Ghostbusters look with Annie Potts.
Man, this is a great time to be a Ghostbusters fan.
EDIT: For those of you who are wondering who the brown-ish ghoul is, he might be the giant spook from Ghostbusters II's "Flip City" montage.
-
Yup, the NECA Stay Puft is gonna go great with the minimates. I'm gonna try and make a diorama of the climax of the movie using that Stay Puft.
Now for a 1:24 scale Ecto-1 to go with these guys...
-
As mentioned in previous posts, the color appears off (could just be the image)
Those are the correct colors though.
http://www.gbfans.com/equipment/reference/9/
First picture shows what they look like in natural lighting. The following pictures from the first movie also show that the colors are nearly the same.
EDIT: I want a Ray Parker Jr. minimate now.
-
All in all: GIVE US THESE MINIMATES NOW!!! *drool*
This is what I'm thinking right now.
I might actually be more excited for these than I am for the Mattel figures.
If only there were a re-release or new 1:24 Ecto-1 to go with these guys.
-
These look fantastic!
If Mattel wasn't already coming out with a line of toys, these would be my dream GB figures.
And the khaki on the figures is actually the correct color. Different lighting in the movies make it difficult to tell but those are the right colors.
...now I'm gonna have to get triples of these so I can have two terror dogs.

Looks like the TRU wave 2 Ray is the only way to get the ecto-goggles.
