  1. not really minimate realated, but i saw this sale at TRU.com for the 1/18th scale Delorean...20 bucks!!!

    DST 1/18 Delorean

    YOINK.

    That's a steal for $20!

Speaking of BttF, I just found out that a nearby theater is going to be holding a 25th Anniversary event with a theatrical screening of the first movie and having actors like Christopher Lloyd present for autographs, etc.

    I can't wait! :D

  2. I'll be getting all of them except for the Reed/Planet Hulk pack. As much as I want new Fantastic Four 'mates (I don't have any), I don't really care for battle-damage characters. So unless Reed's accessories doesn't have battle damage on them, that's a pass for me.

I'm getting the Cap/Wolvie pack for Cap. I haven't bought him yet (Yeah, yeah I know. I've been thinking of getting either the Heroes pack or the Invaders pack until I saw this.) and wanted the classic version of the character. He looks great!

Thor/Loki will be for Thor's helmet, hammer and head while the Storm/Klaw pack will be for Klaw obviously. (I'm satisfied with the 90s Storm even though I've always found the punk look to be cool)

...Anyone else notice that one of Wolverine's shoulder pads is backwards in the packaging photo along with his head facing the wrong way? :P

  3. Just spotted this over at ToonZone's forums. Its a listing for three Australian Iron Man DVDs coming out in March.

    http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/810856

While this only applies to Australia, consider these three things:

    1. Its being released by Disney.

    2. Its under the Marvel DVD Comic Book Collection label, the same as their X-Men DVDs.

    3. Iron Man 2

So it isn't confirmed the US is getting these. (we haven't even got the last X-Men set yet) I think its only a matter of time before Disney announces them to coincide with Iron Man 2's release, just like they did last year with X-Men Origins and the X-Men DVDs.

  4. Sweet.

Unlike the last wave, I will be going to Toys R Us everyday and getting all of them. (I'm playing hell trying to find the second wave on eBay.)

Not too terribly excited about Titanic Ghost or World of the Psychic Peter, though. The rest look great, especially Vigo and the Scholari Brothers!

  5. I have to agree, I don't think I can see myself buying the revamped Louis and Slimer...as long as I don't cave in when I see them. :P

Though picking up a couple of Louis' to get the GB2 arms for GB2 GBs might be a different story...

Also, didn't AA say something about a possible reworking of the license with Sony to do Real Ghostbusters stuff awhile back?

  6. Would the minimates be able to fit inside it at that size, though?

I like it, though. I like the little details although I wish I could see how the Time Circuits turned out.

I do think that the steering wheel is way too low and the random holes on the hood are a bit distracting.

    Now for that Ecto-1...

  7. As a die-hard BttF fan, I can't help but be excited for the DeLorean. It makes for a nice 25th Anniversary present. (Besides a Blu-ray release for the movies...)

I found the design off-putting at first but I have come around to liking it. I think the problem here is that the wheels are too small. If they were a bit bigger the car wouldn't look so tall.

EDIT: Saw the full picture and didn't realize that the back wheels are bigger than the front wheels...I kinda like that. Reminds me of the BttF: Animated DeLorean.

I do like the fact that it'll be able to seat two minimates.

If DST is to do an Ecto-1, one of the main things they need to do is to make sure it'll be able to seat all four Ghostbusters. That should at least take care of some of the scrunching.

Awesome, the local TRU finally stocked the second wave! Since I'm in sort of a lockdown with spending money, I only picked up the Ray and Winston sets...and man, it is so utterly satisfying to finally have a complete, consistent GB team after all these years! (I had the Kenner Screamers for Ray, Peter and Egon while I had Winston in some sort of space suit. )

I only have one problem: I can't seem to get the Ecto-Goggles to stay on Ray's huge hair. Anyone else having trouble with this?

  9. - want to keep going w/ miniflyers; asked for audience suggestions on vehicles; liked horse, motorcycle ideas

Did anyone suggest the DeLorean or Ecto-1?

    - GB is doing very well at TRU; good chance of wave 3, but trying not to jump the shark

Awesome to hear that the line is doing good.

    - First appearance Xmen box set confirmed

    Yesssss.

  10. I am still waiting for the Ghostbuster Minimates in Central Illinois (Bloomington/Normal). I travelled to visit my cousin in Evansville, IN and went into their Toys r Us and they thought I was off my rocker when I asked if they had received the Ghostbuster minimates yet. I was told "Well, if we have them they would be with the rest of those in that isle." Well, the isle I was refereed to is where the Terminatior and BSG minimates were found. But not any Ghostbusters and then the Marvel minimates were with the Marvel figures and still no Ghostbusters there.

I'm about fourty minutes away from Bloomington. I have the same exact turnout at the Rockford TRU. They have the new BSG and Marvel mates but no Ghostbusters.

If any of you are in Central Illinois and know where to fing them, please let me know.

We'll probably get them in around the same time but if Rockford gets 'em first, I'll let you know. ;)
