  1. Yeah, if you're not reading TBolts, you're missing out. It has been consistently good since the relaunch (after that dumb wrestling storyline).

I think everyone here is thinking of a classic TBolts team, Super Spidey Piggy.

A great boxed set would be:

    Citizen V

    MACH 1

    Songbird

    Atlas

Fixer and Meteorite (Moonstone) could come later.

    Cheers,

I love that boxset/2-pack idea. I'd also like to see members of the current roster and the lineup from the conclusion of the "New Thunderbolts" branding.

But before anything else, we really do need Songbird. Come on, DST, make it happen!

  2. My pet character, and also the BEST COMIC CHARACTER OF ALL TIME (non-debatable, mind you :)), is Jean Grey. And she has been so deserving yet overlooked in Minimate form it;s sad. Her AND Scott; you know. He's that guy that's LEAD the X-men for decades now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're actually not doing too badly with Jean and Scott. We have 8 versions of Jean (although 3 of them aren't 616 Jean) and 9 versions of Cyclops (2 of which were Ultimate incarnations). If we could just get the Jim Lee versions of those two, that would be great.

As for Kang, he's a B-list villain (in the big scheme of things), but he's one of my favorite Avengers villains. I'd like to see him just so that his vocal proponents on this board will have their victory. He's got a history in comics, and he looks cool, so why not make Kang?

  3. and I figure there are more fans desiring these two characters than 1 new and 1 variant character from an alternate universe story.

Well, to be fair it wasn't just some 'What If?' one-shot or anything, it was a story told in the main Wolverine title, with two of Marvel's biggest creators behind it, and unless I'm mistaken it sold huge. Not saying it should or shouldn't be shortpacked, just that I can see why DST/Marvel would assume there's a market for these characters...

Don't get me wrong, I actually loved Old Man Logan (except for the end; I had high expectations). I just figure that there are more fans seeking a redo for Silver Surfer and the Swordsman for their T-Bolts lineup than there are folks who will want an Old Man Logan variant and Old Man Hawkeye.

That said, if I see this pack in stores, I probably get it. Aw heck, I'll almost definitely get it. I love alternate universes.

  4. I'll also be included in the "I hope the Old Man Logan" set is the 1 per case. Sorry Wolvie fans, but I'm dyin' for that Surfer!

Seriously. Silver Surfer and Swordsman are popular enoug hto sell at 2 per case, and I figure there are more fans desiring these two characters than 1 new and 1 variant character from an alternate universe story.

I keep wondering if these early TRU releases of comic shop characters (Titanium Man, etc.) is going to cause a dwindle in the LCS orders too. If I can I get a character that I want early (Titanium Man, Electro) and then buy the one from the LCS as my backup figure, something I do with ones I really really like.

I know that it affects things for me. I already have ythe Electro 2-pack, and I'll get the Scorpion one from my local TRU to help move product through, so the only one I'm getting from a comic shop source is the Spider-Girl/Vault Guardsman pack.

I hope the TRU parallel releases don't hurt overall sales for LCS too much. :(

  5. Yeah, given that we've had the other T-Bolts, I expected this one, but would also much prefer the classic version.

I don't know much anything about the classic Swordsman, but I hope DST makes him too so that we fill out more rosters. IIRC, he was a member of the Lethal Legion and the Avengers. Emissaries of Evil, too. I love the teams of z-list villains. Let's get an Emissaries 4-pack with Swordsman, Eel, Porcupine, and Cobalt Man. That would rock!

  6. am I the only one who saw the title of Swordsman and thought it was the classic version? and was let down it was the new version?

sure the silver surfer looks good, but the rest I can wait for in my LCS

DST hinted that this version of Swordsman was coming a while back, so it's not that much of a suprise. They were talking about finishing out current teams, and Swordsman finishing out the T-Bolts was their example.

That doesn't acccount for Songbird, however, Hopefully they didn't mention her because she's in an upcoming wave or boxset. Until we get Melissa Gold, I'm happy to have Andreas! Now I can have Norman stab him on my minimate display.

  7. There's one guy at my loca lTRU who is very helpful. When I was looking for the Bullseye/Moonstone pack, he checked to see if there were more in the back for me. When he came up empty-handed, he next went to find out which day the next shipment of minimate products should arrive at the store.

    Great guy, no doubt!

  8. Yeah definitely Baron Zemo but I would love an original Thunderbolts set with Citizen V, Mach 1 , Songbird and the fixer can't remember what his name was.

Fixer went by "Techno." I hope that when we get the T-Bolts, we get Atlas rather than Songbird, as I'd like her packed with Swordsman to finish out the Civil War era T-Bolts.

  9. The differences between the TRU Venom and the AFX Thunderbolt exclusive Venom:

The TRU Venom has a hole on the top of his head while the AFX Thunderbolt exclusive does not.

My tru Venom does not have a hole in his head. Which is more common?

  10. Masters of Evil VI:

    Baron Zemo

    Fixer

    Goliath

    Screaming Mimi

Of course you'd also need a Wrecking Crew boxed set and

    The Original Thunder Bolts:

    Citizen V

    Techno

    Atlas

    Songbird

with Meteroite / Mach I chase two pack.

We could run for days on combinations of the second Crimson Cowl's Masters which at one point was 25 third and fourth stringers strong.

I was right there with you until you said "chase." If DST makes two of the original Thunderbolts chases, I would be so angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry. :hulk:

If we got asmany Masters of Evil ineups as you've listed, I tink that the villainous minimates might finally stand a chance against all of the heroes.

  11. I still don't get why THIS was the one per case, instead of Molecule Man/Spider-Woman. Fans were able to get the variant Angel changed from the FA Angel, because the whole POINT was to be able to complete the team. Are folks going to be as gung-ho to order the X-Factor set?

My guess, MM/SW relates to a TRU exclusive. Angel completes a competitor's (however how minor) exclusive. Which would you think TRU is more interested in carrying? Frankly, I'm surprised the set is in TRU at all.

I'm not surprised that TRU would carry the Angel pack. Sure, it helps complete the exclusive of a competitor, but what that means is that TRU gains some of its competitor's customers, at least for this pack.

  12. Colonel America, I'd be down for all of those, the only change I'd make would be to replace Gwen from the Clone Saga set with Ben Reilly, but other than that I love all three sets. I've never been a fan of Six-Armed Spider-Man but I think it would be much cooler to get than multiple versions of a Spidey variant. It's really bizarre to me that now we have multiple versions of variations of him, especially since there are still untapped variations out there.

I'm not hankering for another Ben Reilly, but if it happened that way, I'd be fine with it. I really love the Spider-Man cast of characters, so any of these sets would be a dream for me.

  13. If we're talking Jackal and box sets, he's got to go in a clone saga set. Jackal, Kaine, Scarlet Spider redo, and if we can escape another Spider-Man redo, maybe a redo of Gwen Stacy, since she ties into the story via her own clone.

Oh, I like that idea. New plan for Spidey-related boxsets:

    Clone Sage:

Scarlet Spider (redo with better eyes at least)

    Jackal

    Kaine

Gwen Stacy (could definitely use an update)

    Scientists and Monsters:

    Spider-Man (six arms)

    Morbius the Living Vampire

    The Lizard

    Man-Wolf

    Sinister Syndicate:

    Rhino (redo)

    Beetle

    Boomerang

    Speed Demon

I would love to get all of those characters at some point, and if we could get them bunched together like this without 10 extra Spider-Man minimates, I'm all for it! Use Spidey to help sell his lesser known rogues in regular waves. We still have to get guys like Doppleganger, Smythe, Spider-Slayers, Tinkerer, Enforcers, Hammerhead, and more.

  14. No complaints here! Maybe this'll start a trend... with the next Spidey set being "Lizard, Morbius, 6-armed Spidey and somebody else?

Well continuing that trend of scientists turned into monsters, I'd go with the Jackal. Miles Warren would be a nice addition to Spidey's growing rogues gallery.

I'd rather see a redone Rhino come out with Beetle, Speed Demon, and Boomerang for a Sinister Syndicate set.

  15. Yay, they had these here at my local TRU! I picked up the Spider-Woman/ Molecule Man pack and the Spidey/Electro pack.

I love Electro and Spider-Woman, they're both fantastic 'mates to add to my Spider-Man family lineup! Insulated Spidey isn't a variant I particularly care about, but he looks good.

Now I just need to figure out what to do with Molecule Man...

  16. Well, at least you're not picking favorites, you're sharing the hate equally.

Is it really any more inconceivable that Boondock Saint would get a cult following than that Rocky Horror Picture Show would get a cult following? Those things don't seem to have any obvious pattern.

About the Spider-Woman 'mate... Is her hair different from the promo art, or is it just me? I remember seeing a really nice braid in the art. Or did I just make that up?

  17. Excellent Boon Dock Saints reference.

Why does everyone think that The Boondock Saint is the second coming of Citizen Kane. It is a mindless action movie that is so startling mediocre Fox, the studio that has made 3 Transporter movies, deemed it not good enough for theaters.

Boondock Saints was a fun romp. Most people I know who enjoyed it enjoyed it for what it is: a violent, ridicluous, over-the-top action film that was entertaining, if not deep and meaningful.

And comparing Boondock Saints to the Transporter series? What on earth does Transporter have over Boondock Saints? Those movies make Boondock Saints look deep and insightful by comparison.
