  1. Well, I'm in the middle of making a custom Scorpion using the Superhero Squad Scorpion tail.

    Try that.

But be sure to size it on the Minimate you're using and cut it where the waist is before glueing it on, or else he won't be able to move at the waist.

  2. Perfect Minimate...

    Hm.

I'd say, like Luke said, they just need perfect paint application.

I'd say Torment Spidey with all around paint application, perfect lines and even different slightly grey-er paint on the bottom of the foot would make a perfect Minimate, and be an example of how all perfect 'mates should be.

  3. Well that depends on which version of the episode "Arena" you are watching. Paramount has been airing (well technically they sold television stations the rights to air) "Remastered"/"Special Edition"/"Let's Bilk The Trekkies" versions of various Star Trek episodes. (Coming soon to HD-DVD at a store near you!) These new episodes have been altered with new special effects such as CGI starships, enhanced CGI Glowing-Energy-Aliensâ„¢, and shorter skirts (via CGI).

One of the more controversial decisions was to alter storylines. For example, the original theme of "Arena" was how Kirk was able to overcome the unnamed Gorn captain's brawn by using only his wits and whatever he could find on Cestus 3. Ultimately defeating the Gorn, he was still able to maintain his humanity and refused to take the Gorn's life. This proved to the Metrons that humans were not the savage, warlike people they thought.

The execs at Paramount decided that this storyline was far too complex for the new, younger, hipper crowd they were trying to attract. So they decided to "sex it up a bit," "add some T'n'A," or "slam the poodle" by making the Gorn female. Trek is replete with green females so they figured no one would mind. The new storyline centers around how the Gorn (I think her name is Trixie now) is trying to explore her sexuality. Kirk and Trixie are still trapped on Cestus 3 by the Metrons, but instead of fighting each other with styrofoam rocks, ad hoc cannons, and pointy things, they just end up rubbing decon gel all over each other and drinking Jägerbombs. At one point Trixie gets fed up with Kirk continually steering the conversation to old episodes of "Who's The Boss" and she takes off for some "alone time." (She preferred "Mr. Belvedere" anyway.) Just before cutting to commercial you see Trixie open her purse and pull out her "Silver Friend" and smile.

Of course if you're watching the original episodes that aired in the sixties, it's just a Universal Translator.

    Dude...

    What the hell?

  4. Tookytoo had a good idea with a tentacled Carnage.

When I got my Carnage, he didn't seem like he was complete without his swirling mass of loose symbiote.

    So I would say...

    Tentacled Carnage/Eddie Brock

Deadpool/Rhino (With bracers and powerhouse chest)

    Vermin/Kraven

Variant: Spidey Kraven (Bulkier symbiote Spidey, with loads of muscle detail in blue, and a powerhouse chest to show the difference in bulk of Kraven and Spidey)

No one would expect a Vermin minimate. Ever.

With all due respect, Deadpool and Rhino make absolutely zero sense, and I don't care if there's some inside tie-in to that, to a casual DP fan like myself, it makes zero sense.

Also - DST/AA I hope you're reading this - NO MORE CHARACTER REHASHES!!! The Avengers wave was great. No one we've gotten before, that's "just in a new costume". Don't know who Vermin is, but since we don't have him already, bring him on! Kraven sounds like a good idea, too, though that variant confuses me. We need Gambit, Deadpool, Red Skull, Psylocke, Kraven, Ant Man, Mr. Sinister, War Machine, Mandarin, Electro, Falcon, and countless others before we get another variant of a character we've already gotten. We have a Carnage. We have two Venoms, and we're getting another with two Eddie Brocks. That's more than enough!

Deadpool and Rhino...I remember reading two issues where they were fighting, and shrinking one another. I need a powerhouse chest for Rhino, so he needs to be redone somehow, with his bracers and anklets and his huge shoulderpads.

Carnage I can live without. I'll just have to play with him inaccurately.

The variant Kraven was from Kraven's Last Hunt, where he takes over. Not the best idea for a variant, but my lineup gave me little room for a variant at all.

And I forgot about the SM3 wave. I didn't think of the movie Brock we'll already be getting. Excuse me.

  5. I may be a little late on this, and I'm sorry if there's a thread for this already.

Today, the paint on my Torment Spidey's chest rubbed right off. Almost all of it.

And the joints on my Hydroman's arms are real tight.

    They didn't break, but they're just...blegh.

    What's with this set?

Has anyone else had problems with the paint rubbing off?

  7. Well, I opened an issue of Twisted Toyfare and there was the Marvel Minimate guide thing.

Out loud, I said "How stupid." Inside, I said "...I love you."

Two years later, after having them float around in my head every few months, I couldn't stand it.

I googled "Minimates" and found the MMC website.

I found the Spidey Minimate, and I couldn't resist him.

I immediately went on eBay and asked my mother to order the Spidey/Green Goblin 2-pack,as I already had to Marvel Towers Glider. I played with them endlessly, and needed more. I ordered loose Venom, Doc Ock, and Rhino, soon followed by Carage, and now, I have all of the Spider-Man Minimates, some Daredevil stuff, X-Men, Ghost Rider, and every other blocky little pal I can find.

  8. so.......what should i make next

the arbiter to go along with your master cheif, and some eleites to go along with your arbiter, or maybe some spartan color variations?

why dont i build the entire army while im at it

Grunts'll be hard, but try those.

Play with breaking some legs and sticking them on to give it a short effect.
