  1. Checked my local Toys R Us today and found the wave except for Bones and Cap. I did manage to pick up Balder. Not half bad. Alas, just like everywhere else, the employees don't know what your talking about and the place is a mess!!!! Seriously, its like a grenade blew up in the isles and forget about finding anything where its supposed to be. I am so glad I don't work there. Just seeing the pile of toys laying near the price checker makes me feel sorry for the poor guy who has to restock after hours.

  2. Well all I know is that my G/F doesn't know why I even bother collecting mini mates. She says all I end up doing is buying whatever new series comes out, play with them for a few minutes and then put them in little baggies and into a storage bin. The most I payed for a single set would have to be around $35. Forgot which one it was though. As for collecting in general, I rarely leave any mini mates in their boxes. Usually the ones that are, are the ones I don't really like and also happen to be the variants. If I really like the variants I buy two so I can open one of them. But I really don't bother thinking about their future value. Whether their worth a lot later on is inconsequential to me.

Hell, I buy the 1/6 scale stuff from Hot Toys too. Anyone who knows that stuff knows that they are not cheap. But I open them and "play" with them not really caring how much they are gonna be worth. With minimates, I buy what I like and what I can afford. But with the Hot Toys stuff, I tend to buy only what I like and even then, I come out having to sell other stuff on eBay just to get the ones I want. But all in all one has to have fun collecting these things and not let anyone tell us otherwise, unless it really taps into one's livelihood and causes serious problems.

  3. In my opinion, I would open them. Around 95% of my collection is open and the remainder are in their boxes. Those in boxes are the variants from some of the less popular waves and some doubles of my favorite variants or exclusives, Hulkbuster Iron Man, Original Avengers Box set, Marvel Zombie minimates. But yeah, open them and if you have doubts, buy doubles of those you really, really like.

  4. Hmm. MODOK, It will be very interesting on how they made him. In all honesty, I am lukewarm on this wave. It s like one figure makes my day, but the other one makes it a little bland. I'm all for variety, even a little bit of it ( your talking to a guy that has almost every Iron Man mate released, even the ones with the slight differences ) But in all honesty, I'll end up buying the whole series. At the very least we are getting some new mates and updated mates. One thing though, the new hulk doesn't really blow my skirt up like the way the guy being interviewed in the AA blog made it sound. So many various files for a figure that looks OK, IMHO. But to each their own.

  5. Down here in Laredo, TX I managed to snag two active camo ODST's and the rest of the mates. I left Master Chief because he didn't look as detailed as the others, kinda plain looking compared to the Blue Spartan or even Noble 6. The other mates had more character to them. The Arbiter really didn't look that good either. The rest of the minis look awesome. It's funny how the other Spartans don't have faces, just black blank heads, except for Jorge. Hmm didnt konw about the Warthog. Might go back today and check on that one.
