Minimates are way too big for Lego; they don't fit inside Lego modular buildings well at all IMHO. You'd need to buy extra bricks to make it roomy enough, which (I think?) Mystery Man did.

I did a little tweaking but left it mostly as it was. It has low ceilings (Lego version) but I'm still completely happy with it.

That said... I'm likely gonna buy all this Playmobil stuff because it looks so appealing.

Romero's Joker was part of a pre-established setting. That Batman was in his prime and already had a sidekick. Burton's movie was about Batman and Joker's origins. I expected them both to be younger. Coincidentally, Michael Keaton was the same age as Adam West (38) when cast as Batman. And as I recall, Christian Bale's Batman was 38 when he "retired."

Okay, I getcha re: the ages and pre-established continuity.

I never got around to seeing the 3rd Nolan flick. By that point DC had New 52'd and that left a sour taste on my mouth.

Thanks bhm! And yeah, '66 Batman Minimates would be damn near the very best thing ever. Oh jeez! Multiple heads for Gorshin Riddler so his mask was pushed up on his forehead like he always wore it! ?

Romero was cool if only because we knew nothing about his origins, which is fine because back then we knew very little about him anyway. (I always want to see Frank Gorshin as Joker instead.) The problem I had with Nicholson was his age. Had that movie been done 10 or 15 years earlier, almost everyone in it would have been that much better. The cast seemed just past their prime but at the end of the day it was Tim Burton doing HIS version of Batman.

I have no idea what to expect from Leto's Joker. All I've seen is the extended cameo he got in Suicide Squad. There's obviously plenty of backstory to explore but I'm not sure we'll ever get to any of it. Hopefully Affleck will prove me wrong but it already sounds like he's heading in a different direction. I'm definitely happier with Jerome at this point but to be fair he's had a lot more time for character development.

Frank Gorshin as the Riddler is the best thing ever, for that series to me. So gleefully infectious. What's interesting is that you mention Nicholson for his age but not Romero.

The DC movies are dead to me. When they keep continuing the grim Superman, then Affleck Batman from one film to the next it lets me know that DC (at least the movies) don't "get it" other than one-dimensional gritty heroes and douchey villains.

My big complaint right now is how they're handling The Joker.

In my DCU, Batman inadvertently created his greatest nemesis when he knocked the Red Hood into that vat of chemicals. Jack Napier didn't kill Bruce's parents (sorry, Mr. Burton). Joker wasn't already a player when Gordon formed his alliance with Batman (sorry, Mr. Nolan). Jerome didn't become Joker before Bruce even before he came up with the bat-gimmick (sorry, Fox). I'm not even a fan of the clown yet I'm still waiting for a live-action Joker to be done "right" in regards to his comic book origins.

    Agreed.

I think the Caesar Romero and Jack Nicholson versions are the best so far. One is a much darker side of the same version, but both are gleeful and clown-like.

Heath Ledger was okay but his character should've been the Anarchist instead (sorry Tike Alicar!).

And the Jared Leto version? Christ. Not even.

  5. I'd take that if it meant the classic versions of Mockingbird, Power Man & Iron Fist and Invisible Woman (costume match for Best of Mr. F).

I'd hope they include seperate Skrull heads, though. The greens on he other ones showed when you wanted to display them as non-Skrulls.

Diamond Select Toys' 73rd wave of Marvel Minimates will be based on the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming movie. While images for the actual figures have yet to be released here is how the wave will breakdown:

A Diamond Select Toys Release! One of the most highly anticipated Spider-Man films of all time is almost upon us, and DST is offering a full assortment of Minimates based on the movie! This assortment features four different two-packs: Spider-Man vs. Shocker, Homemade Suit Spider-Man vs. Vulture, and two comic-shop exclusive sets -- Battle-Damaged Spider-Man vs. the Tinkerer, and Peter Parker with May Parker! Each Minimates mini-figure features 14 points of articulation and fully interchangeable parts, and each two-pack comes packaged in a full-color window box.

Look for these to be released in June 2017.

    Vulture? Shocker? Tinkerer?!

This just makes me wish there'll be a corresponding comic-based wave with these guys. Vulture and Shocker are expensive to come by and a properly funky Tinkerer from Amazing Spider-Man #2 would be such a groovy thing to see.

The two compartments on the bottom right are like a Hitchcock movie.

Glad they make you happy. Sorry if you feel like you have to buy so many of each just to make sure they happen again. Hopefully you have other things you want to do with them all!

I've got extras for customs and parts and just in case one breaks and they're super expensive on the secondary market later.

Getting this series was was the best X-Mas gift ever.

So tonight at work I opened my order from Luke. This is the kinda purchase I make when comic stuff comes out, particularly classic comic stuff. Three custom cases. The only character I didn't *really* want was Gregor and even with that, it's just that I'd have preferred classic Blacklash/Whiplash or Ghost Grey Gargoyle or so forth before him.

I've been buying the shit outta series like this for awhile now and continue to do so to show support. Now I *finally* have classic Falcon and Black Knight, two of my most wanted characters ever. Series like this give me hope for classic Inhumans, comic Warriorrs Three and the Wrecking Crew.

So this is my formal thank you to Zach and everybody else who has listened to alllll my wishlisting/cinematic-bemoaning over the years. This is like a whole series of slang for me. And if you were around back before he came out, you should remember all my Kampaigning then. So thank you Zach. And thanks also to Luke for getting these beauties to me super quick.
