  1. I feel really horrible about this, but I don't think I can continue to work on this project. As much as I absolutely want to, I'm just too overwhelmed with work right now. I just got a promotion of at the T.V. show I work on, and I'm going to be working 5 days a week for like 14 hours a day. I'll have barely any personal time let alone time to do 'extra' stuff. This sucks because I promised to help out and I genuinely wanted to do something creatuve like this for a long time. I hope there aren't any hard feelings. Maybe next time around?
  2. Making it with photoshop, which just became really difficult since for whatever reason a lot of my filters simply aren't working anymore, says there's a disk error everytime I try... that's going to make everything copmlicated, I may have to reinstall photoshop...
  3. WOW! That is amazing, puts THIS to shame: This is a very very ROUGH idea of what the card may look like.
  4. NOTE TO ALL COSTUMIZERS. Once t's been decided what figure you're doing, shoot me a PM stating what your charcater concept is and if you have any preference to what the accompanying card should look like. If I don't get a message from you, I won't be able to make a card for your character. Let me know.
  5. Sure, I'll have one hopefully by today to show you guys
  6. Well, it may mean not doing any physical costums myself, but if you like I could JUST do the designer. It's what I'm generally better at anyway *shrugs* I'll do anything you guys decide. I spout a lot of ideas, but in the end I'll go with the flow.
  7. I can do the wire frame basics for most the characters in about three or four weeks weeks. Once the actual costumes are complete I'll add the colors/accessories... which ironically, don't take as much time as doing a 3Dish wireframe. I just need to know what poses people want
  8. We also don't have to rush these. I don't think anyone here wants to have them all done in a month or whatever. We can take our time and when we finally sell them they'll look really nice and polished. Anyway, this is my (for now) final design for the pose on the werewolf card.. .not going to add the actual colors or accessories until the actual costume is done cause most likely it'll change while I'm working on it.
  9. Well, if you like how the Werewolf turns out, I could volunteer to do all the card designs. It might take awhile in that case though.
  10. It's just the whole "putting something in print" thing that I'm worried about. Customs, while they are a grey area, are just modifications of a company's product traded between fans; a trading card, even fan-made seems...different somehow. I love the idea, don't get me wrong, I just want to make sure we go about this the right way and don't get ourselves or anyone else in trouble. I guess we can look into it, but I really don't think it'll be an issue. If you want to play it safe, we can dump the whole bio/wording thing and just have an image of the design on one side of teh card with the characters name "werewolf" etc, whatever... Here's something I started working on a few minutes ago.. the final idea would beWerewolf running through the grass, moon in the background, head slightly tilted up growling... this is still barely just the skeleton. Also I think the sarcaphogus for the Mummy is a GREAT idea! I love little touches like that P.S. We could also even write a disclaimer on the back of the card saying something like "This is a non-profit item being auctioned for charity"etc...
  11. Well it's not an official "Trading card" just a trading card size piece of paper that would come with the minimate. If anything the trading cards are less of an issue because trading cards in and of themselves are not something that any company owns, where as minimates specificly are owned by a certain company. For some odd reason I have the compulsion to add what every character's favorite song is on the card... Werewolf = Bark at the Moon, Ozzy Osbourne... Zombie - Thriller, Michael Jackson... LOL. P.S. How about the name "Monster-Mates"?
  12. Just as an idea, something I'm already working on, just to give it a little extra 'umph', maybe each minimate can come with it's own 3x2.5 inch trading card with a drawn version of the minimate (already doing Werewolf) on it. Just a little extra something that comnes with it with a goofy little bio and or trivia for the monster in question and the designers name?
  13. Hmm, never used mlilput before, I hope it's easy to get use for a newbie. Also, what kind of paint works best on minimates?
  14. Here's a design I did for "Werewolf by Night" a little while back, but I think it's generic enough to work as a Wolfman/Werewolf. The face is Super Skrull with a nose painted onto the middle, the hair is a combination of Nightcrawler's hair and Logan's Chops. Chest fur pattern is from Movie Beast, as is the foot claws and hand claws. Waist and ripped pants/legs are from Hulk. The only physical piece I wouldn't know where to get from just yet is the shoulder fur. Any ideas?
  15. Hmm, well as long as we do our own takes on Frankenstein, Dracula, a lagoon monster, etc we should be ok... I know there was a "Creatures of the Night" run of busts that were done by a company not affiliated with Universal... they got away with doing almost an exact clone of Creature from the Black Lagoon simply by calling it "Creature from the Depths" so the idea could still work
  16. I'd LOVE to do a classic monsters thing! i've been planning on it for a while actually. Thing is, those are actually licensed characters, by Universal.
  17. I might be up for it. I've been tinkering around with the idea of painting up some of my designs on figures.
  18. Just attached on the sides I figured, and to get real technical, I was figuring inside would be a thin posable rod (I'm not sure what material they use) wrapped in soft plastic... that way you could bend the antenae and pose it whatever way you want, the way it does in the comics.
  19. Sure, I keep all the seperate parts on different layers so i can take it apart easily. Here you go Pieces: Helmet, Chest Plate, Wrists, and Belt. I didn't bother breaking up the body because I think we know how a standard minimate snaps together in terms of arms/legs, etc.. And, like I said, I havent done a face for it yet.
  20. It's funny cause most minimates don't have that shading on the figure, but now I feel like if I don't add it to my designs they don't seem complete.
  21. Irredeemable Ant-Man Happy with how it turned out for the most part, though I still feel the antenae could have been better. May still add the "arms" eventually and a removable faceplate.
  22. Oh no, was thinking about doing a V one though, lol
  23. Wow, I'm totally flattered and humbled. Thanks for all the compliments! I still think Fujis's Watchmen kick my ass, lol. Yea, i still need to post the "pieces" for these... any time I design a minimate, I design all the parts seperately too so it actually works AS a minimate, not just a drawing... you can see how things snap into place and all that. So I'll definately post ant-man with his mask off soon. As for what's next, I was toying with the idea of doing some Earth X ones (specifically Cap, Daredevil, Spidersman and Iron Maiden). Also, getting away from Marvel for a bit, I was thinking of dong some Warcraft related ones just for the fun of it. As for being hormone driven... guilty as charged. Hey, we're all boys...
