  1. All I know is I agree with you. I'm a Marvel fan, and DC mates are MUCH cooler.

I agree but the new waves look insanely promising. Smart Hulk? Archangel? Task Master with like a thousand weapons? I'd say marvel mates are REALLY catching up to DC, and will probably surpass them,

  2. Hmm, watching that intro again reminds me... even though the C3 playsets failed, I think it would be cool if they had some sort of play set equivalent for the Marvel Mates and it was a Blackbird. You could package atg least 4 X-Men mates with it that could be from the animated show.

Ah, pipe dreams of a minimate fan...

  3. Anyone know if there's any chance for an X-Men wave with the 90's versions of the characters? Like a lot of people my age, my first real introduction to X-Men was from the Fox Kids animated show, and those costumes are what I became familiar with. It would be a pretty nice set considering we'd get a lot of mates that we don't have yet:

    X-Men Animated Intro

Cyclops - We don't have a classic costume open hair Cyclops yet with the utility pack across his chest, so this would be new

Wolverine - OK, so we have yellow Wolverine, but they could tweak it a little and rerelease :P

Rogue - We also recently got this costume, but it didn't come with the brown jacket, and for me the costume never really worked without that piece.

Storm - Storm's white outfit to me is the definitive Storm, I'd kill for this mate!

Beast - It's about time we get classic Beast, nuff said.

Gambit - Likewise, we don't have a Gambit yet!

Jubilee - Nor do we have a Jubilee.

Jean Grey - Even though this costume never made any damn sense to me, I always loved it! :D

Professor X - Since we got that wheel chair way back with that Magneto 2-pack, couldn't they have another prof. x with the classic yellow 'cybernetic' wheel chair?

Aaaaaanyway, you think this could happen or is it too soon considering we've already gotten a lot of X-Men toys recently?

  4. It's DST's fault for making a mostly uninteresting wave. Aside from the Ghost Rider mate, what you have is essentially a wave were 6 figures are just ordinary looking humans. Yes, I wonder why Marvel fans aren't scrambling to buy this...

The smartest thing to have done would be to have released a single 2-pack, Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider and (I would have prefered) Original Carter Slade Ghost Rider. That would have been a sweet movie related two pack that had the two most visually interesting characters in it.

The idea that a movie has to be a whole wave is ridiculous. It worked for X-Men 3, it will work for Spider-Man 3, Fantastic Four 2 will work if they announce one... but it simply doesn't not work for this movie. There weren't enough visually interesting characters in the film to warrant it.

  5. I think an Earth X wave would be EXTREMELY cool:

EX - Captain America (Tattered toga)

    EX - Daredevil (Motorcyclist)

    EX - Spider-Girl (Venom)

    EX - Thor (Female)

    EX - Spiders-Man

    EX - Iron Maiden

EX - Reed Richards (in Doom's Uniform)

    EX - Clea Strange

    EX - President Osborn

EX - Black Panther (Anthro Cat)

  6. They're pointy, just not super pointy. I wonder how the wings on the feet work.. if they're actually part of the mold or little attachments stuck on. And yea, Hulk's face isn't great, but I am happy they've started giving larger characters the chest pieces. Looking much more forward to the 'Smart Hulk' :D

EDIT: Er, closer inspection of the NAMOR figure shows that the wings are an attachment piece on the feet. Now I know.

  7. Yea, the arm on my sandman broke off, took it back to get it replaced. In general, most of the minimates from the last few waves have been EXTREMELY stuff and easily broken... I'm not sure why this is.

  8. Hey I have a question for those who bought.

Did anyone else have a problem with the sandman figures arms? I went to turn his arm.. and it snapped off with the ball broken off inside. I didn't push it hard or anything, just turned it like you would the arm on any other action figure and the plastic just broke off. If this is just a fluke, I'll take it back... but has anyone else had a problem with this?

Has anyone else heard about this? Is there any more information? All I've found is this little blurb and pics... I want more INFO! I think they're making a mistake releasing them the way they are though... instead of releasing all the Red Rangers, then all the Green Rangers, etc... they should release it by show.. like release all the Mighty Morphin's first then all the Zeos, etc... personally, I grew up with Morphin so that's all I'd want.
