  1. This one isn't as easy to answer, and it brings up my biggest peeve with the xbox 1.

You have to install every game to the hard drive. And if it's a disc based game, you still have to have the disc in the drive to play it.

It takes an inordinate amount of time to install a game from disc.

Typical xbox 1 games seem to be approximately 40gb in size from the disc, but then you have to add on mandatory update files.

Depending on how many games you want to have immediately available for play, it fills up fast.

  2. I'm sad the X-men are going away. sad.png

    Wait - what? O_o

SW is not even a reboot. It'll still be 616 but with some characters from other universes. Now there are only 22 left and when SW happens, there'll be just one. So no,I don't think the X-Men are going away. Maybe they'll get a couple of old/news faces back/to join, but other than that, if the 616 characters survive, they'll still be the same characters. It's not a case of altering their past or anything, 616 Kitty will have the same origin, but after SW Ultimate Kitty may be staying there as well, with her Ultimate origin.

Granted, "x-men going away" is speculation, However:

My impression of the "meta" of (slash "business case" for) SW was to streamline all of the messy continuity into something more closely aligned with the cinematic universe going forward. Like, what happens in the movies is what's happening in the books. Also, kind of a big eff you to Fox, who are apparently not planning to relinquish rights to those two legacy pieces of Marvel history, Fantastic Four and X-men. With Fox talking about doing an X-men tv series now, I would not be at all surprised to see Marvel decide to torch the X-men outright during Secret Wars, move forward with Inhumans as the new Mutants for the MU, and maybe even sell off the X-men IP to Fox entirely. It seems obvious from the direction in the comics that the X-men are increasingly irrelevant to events in the MU as a whole – they've almost become a niche universe anyway. It's either continue to spend money making books that don't align with the overall company business model, shelve the franchise out of pure spite, or recoup the significant value of it to reinvest in their core properties.

This isn't about what makes sense in the stories, this is pure business. And Disney is nothing if not disciplined in business.

This sounds like it is all speculation. Sources? thx

  3. Yeah, I'm not entirely enamored of the cartoon's aesthetic. The comic book character designs are more appealing to me. I'd even jump on the live-action stuff.

In the new season (like right now, actually), the turtles go thru some changes (won't spoil for anyone who is not caught up-to-date) & their appearance changes. Raph sort of looks like that now. He's got fire-claw things like that. The turtles in their new gear look less cartoon-y & more like that comic design. You should check it out. I wouldn't be surprised if DST makes 'mates of those. smile.png

Do you have a season/episode number to look for? thx

  4. All future criticisms should focus exclusively on what has been seen in the trailer. Tangential criticisms based on statements of the director, actors, producers, and any other parties officially associated with the criticisee will be allowed only in the event that the criticisor cites to such original statement in its complete, unabridged form. Failure to comply with these terms of criticism will render the critique invalid. All criticisors who feel their criticisms have been unfairly invalidated hereby agree to enter into binding mediation to settle any and all disputes as to the validity of such a criticism.

    Sounds overly critical

  5. Without seeing the movie, I don't understand how this new FF can be characterized as "Chronicle with FF slapped on." Because...same director? That's just not objective, and can't be taken seriously.

And if it does turn out to be Chronicle-esque, so what? As has been noted, the FF have been around for 40+ years. There have been a lot of different takes and styles of stories written with them. Some of them have replaced members, even the whole team. Some fun, some serious, the costumes have changed.

What the best FF stories get right is that, regardless of who is in the group, is that this group is a FAMILY. The boundaries of science are pushed into DISCOVERY. And that discovery leads to HIGH ADVENTURE.

If this movie does that, but happens to be shot like Chronicle (which from the trailer it isn't), how can it not be an FF movie?
