I think there's every chance of Ronaldo getting booed at ManUre. Rooney's the golden boy of english football. That ref really ought to have handed a few yellows out. It might have encouraged the portuguese to play football and not play act. Don't think the Italians will sit back and drag the game out. Look at the second goal against Germany. No one saw that coming (including Jens Lehmann!)

Italy are playing out of their skins right now. And, for a change they're not the all-diving all-cheating allstars they've usually been. I think they're going to destroy France. I'm disappointed Germany went out the other night. I really wanted to see them go all the way after England bowed out. From all accounts they've been excellent hosts.

I have to say I'm sorry to see Portugal exit the world cup.
The competition simply won't be the same without their inventive, endearing and always entertaining antics.

Believe it or not but it was worse than this!!!
At one point pretty much every member had a civil war sig. Someone picked it up from CBR (I think) and from there it spread like wildfire.

Yeah a mate of mine had a good idea it was going to happen but thankfully he kept his mouth shut about it so as not to spoil it for me. I was fully expecting Roger Lloyd-Pack to reappear as a mega funky Cyber conrtroller.
The instant I saw the eyestalk appear over the rim of the dissolving sphere I was in fanboy heaven!

I just re-watched the ending of last nights episode. My sons face lit up when the Daleks started speaking. I've got a talking Dalek that he's obsessed with. Can't wait for next weeks episode now. Hats off to RTD for coming up with that combination. Makes you wonder where it'll go from here?

I think it's that actory fear of being typecast Don. Dr Who has done wonders for Billy's career. She started out as a bargain basement Britney, married one of Britains more irritating showbiz types (who was almost twice her age) and disappeared off of the map. Then, she came back in a dramatization of the Canterbury Tales and wowed the critics with her performance. Everyone was really surprised when she was announced as the Dr's assistant/companion but I think it's safe to say that the re-launch of the Show has benefited from having Billy on board and the fans love her. It'll be a shame to see her go but that's always been the way the show moved forward. New assistants and the occasional regeneration change the dynamics and make the show fresh again. That's why it lasted 30 years in the first place.
Just out of interest Don, is this the first time you've been exposed to Dr Who? What did you think to the Daleks?

Tonights episode blew me away. I have been up and down this series as previously mentioned in this thread but tonight... Apart from the Torchwood directors knockers I've seen something I never ever thought I'd see!

Dunno if you saw it over there Tim, but after the match the beeb showed footage of Christiano Ronaldo nutting Wayne Rooney from behind before the whistle had even blown for kick off. Can anyone fathom why Carraghers penalty had to be retaken?

What a 'mare!!! I had to do the weekly shop last night so I went back to sainsburys as I needed to get more of these stands to send to Fujis.
The shelves were bare!!! I asked a shop assistant who told me they'd started giving them away at the checkouts. I could only get another four and don't hold out much hope of getting more. Gutted!!!

Excellent stuff Tim. Bane, Xorn, and Phoenix are all fantastic pieces of work. The Star Wars stuff is perfect. You absolutely nailed Anakin. But my favourite is still Cap B. Please please please make me one.

The Sara Jane/K9 episode was fantastic. As is the Girl in the Fireplace, the Cyberman 2 parter, The Satan Pit, and the one set in London around the time of the Coronation.
The season opener is a bit of a stinker some nice scenes and brilliant makeup effects spoiled by a weak storyline and as for last weeks episode set during the 2012 Olympics... It was dreadful. But even dreadful Dr Who is still great telly in comparison with the usual fare.
And yeah Tim, you're not wrong. Lis Sladen has aged very well indeed.
