I wish I knew! Minimates could certainly use horses. I wonder if MegaBloks ever offered anything compatible.

I've tried to find those, but it's hard to find them loose without having to fork out loads of money on the full sets just to get them. Anything else to use?

I look forward to your Ponderosa diorama. (No pressure!)

Okay, so after rewatching a couple of episodes, I thought I'd do different versions of the Cratwrights. Can you guess what they are?Alternate Cartwright Minimates.jpg

Maybe someday. For now, I need to find the perfect horses in the exact same scale. Which kind do you think works?

Hey, those are pretty good! Where did you find a Pernell Roberts likeness? ;)

Why, he came with a Cowboy Disguise Tony Stark I once obtained. Lonre Greene was the same actor who portrayed both Adama and Ben Cartwright. For Hoss and Little Joe, I just used two Marty McFly heads (one from the Mr Eastwood Marty and the other from the Festival Marty).

  4. Remember those large battery-operated train sets such as the ones you run around your Christmas tree? Well, maybe we could try and find some of those for Minimate-scale figures (don't forget the scale as it is very important and you don't want trains that are too big or too small for your Minimates figures). Once you do, then you can re-paint them and convert them to Minimate railway/railroad trains and such.

This video explains the best bet on battery operated G Scale trains.
  5. We've made some, which could conceivably be used as bases for other vehicles, although other toy lines' vehicles are also compatible.

    We made:

Knight Rider KITT (regular, SPM, KARR)

BTTF Time Machine (regular, hover, frosted, phasing)

    Munster Koach (regular, B&W)

Pirate Raiders Ship (brown, black, glowing)

Peter Pan Pirate Ship (two masts)

Minimates MAX Jet (red, black, translucent blue)

    Terminator Hunter-Killer Tank (regular, battle-damaged)

I'm sure I'm missing a few. More to come, also.

What about horses? Speaking of which, you should make them as well as Western-themed lines and collections which would be a great concept!

  6. The chariot set doesn't have saddles. Haytham's Pursuit does. Not a fan of the red trim though:

Doesn't seem like it's been released yet?

The red trim you see here is actually the saddle blanket.

Thanks for the link, that looks pretty sweet. The saddle could be painted..... I need a white horse for my project (which i need to paint). I may be able to use that for another horse riding custom.

Good thinking. Mind you, you should also make a set of reins and bridle for the horse, too.

  7. Playmobil horses *are* a little big but I'm glad to have horses, so I can deal. I also favor Playmobil for all my Minimate-compatible animals, so I like to keep the same style.

My Headless Horseman still has the neck peg so I can give him a jack o'lantern head. I've been pretty busy, so once I'm 100% set on my final version of him I'll likely saw one of the pegs off on one of the torso's to display him like that. The biggest problem is a good cape. The vlack cape from the Pathfinder Mage looks good but is a pain in the ass if you don't have a head on the body. Plus, I don't like how it looks when he sits on the horse.

Well, alright. As long as you keep within the scale, it's no problem.

  8. I just ordered Blondie (as he looked in the beginning of the film) and Angel Eyes. I also got some horses from Kubrick's Planet of the Apes range (even though I had to literally get either the whole set or the same characters that come with horses) to go with those minimates.

Seems like a nice attempt. If only Minimates made horses for their Western-themed figures... Still, at least they fit in scale which is good.

Since the Clint Eastwood minimates were announced, I've been re-discovering the movies (which I hadn't watched in a long time)

I was at my LCS yesterday and noticed that Dynamite Comics has started a "Man with No Name" story arc that follows the events of TGTBATU.

It's worth checking out while waiting for more Clint Eastwood/Man With No Name minimates to be released... which should be soon

I saw A Fistful of Dollars on TCM once and I thought it was bloody brilliant. I gotta watch the other two films now and maybe get 'em on DVD.

Tuco needs a sombrero. I'll buy em anyway but Tuco really needs a sombrero.

    How would you make it?

  9. I remember seeing A Fistful of Dollars on TCM for the first time and I thought it was a brilliant classic! biggrin.png I bought Blondie (as he looked at the beginning of Good, Bad and Ugly, which I think is a cool outfit and my fave version from the trilogy) and Angel Eyes.

I also got some Kubrick horses to go with them (even though I had to get them with the Kubrick Planet of the Apes stuff, but that's a long story, maybe for another day) as they are compatible with the Minimate figures.

  10. I just picked up a Playmobil horse for my Headless Horseman custom. It looks solid to me and I plan to get a few more for my western 'mates.

Only issue is they don't have any articulation other than their head. :/

The Playmobil tiger is very good for Ezekiel as well.

I wonder how your Western minimates look.

Also, I reckon the Playmobil horses are a little taller than the Minimate figures.
