  1. I can't wait for another Marvel Netflix show where our hero fights in the poorly lit hallways and warehouses of New York City, while giving vague lip service to the MCU, and then finally gets a costume in the last 10 minutes of the finale.

She wasn't a "great aunt" (but she was pretty terrific), though. She was his father's sister. And yes, gaps like that can happen. My old boss is a good 20 years older than her younger sister, but it's an exception, not the rule.

you are correct that she wasn't his great aunt, but she isn't his father's sister. She was May Reilly before she married Uncle Ben (the origin of the Scarlet Spider's last name). Uncle Ben was Peter's dad's brother.

i thought i heard Wonder Man is just on a poster in the background?

yeah, there's apparently a Simon Williams film festival at some point in the film with posters of his fictional movies. I don't think Fillion is actually in the movie or has any lines. it's just James Gunn having some fun with a character that Marvel is never gonna use in any of these films.

  4. I thought the pilot was excellent. it's extremely strange and trippy and unlike any comic book show on tv. i'm not sure if this show really has much connection with the X-Films at all, as it seems to take place in the 1970s with a very retro-futuristic look (think Stanley Kubrick's Clockwork Orange aesthetic). i like that you don't really know what the hell is going, since our main character is a literal crazy person. it's only 1 episode in and i already like it better than all the Netflix shows (other than Jessica Jones). hopefully the series will keep the weirdness of the pilot going forward. i have a feeling this show is gonna be divisive as hell. It was definitely not made for 30 year old dudes in Deadpool t-shirts. It's for people looking for something different from their comic book films/shows.

also Singer has little to nothing to do with the show. he's just an executive producer, which doesn't mean anything.

Have you asked at any of the locations about getting new assortments in? Especially at ones where there are low or no inventory.

The level of indifference from Walgreens employees is high.

it's also frustrating that all the stores in my area are still 3 waves behind. Any restocks my stores have gotten have been for 1.5 or 2.

  6. Saw a post on Instagram of the newest wave out in the wild. The distribution on these Walgreens exclusives really suck. I haven't seen any past Wave 2 at any of the 10 different Walgreens that are within driving distance from me. People complain about TRU, but I've never had this trouble hunting minimates down like i have these goddamn animated waves. The fact you can't just fucking order them online drives me nuts.

I was thinking the same thing but I don't remember them being in that episode.  Is the Avengers Assemble show any good?  I haven't seen any of the Marvel cartoons since the 90's.

All the current Disney Marvel cartoons are various degrees of bad, from bad (Ultimate Spider-Man), to really bad (Avengers Assemble), to horrible (Guardians of the Galaxy). BUT they do a good job with character design and introducing characters from the Marvel universe that we might get as toys. The only good Marvel cartoons in recent times were Wolverine and the X-Men, Spectacular Spider-Man, and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (legitimately a great cartoon.)

  8. The problem I have with Bendis is that every single character has the exact same voice, that of a snarky teenager as written by a man in his 40s. He's also really good at writing comics that have no payoff to their story arcs. And he has little to no respect for the work of previous writers on comics he's currently writing (see: Guardians of the Galaxy).
