	Going back and filling in some gaps in my collection, which lead me to wonder - what's the best Iceman?
</p>

<ul>
	<li>
		I like the original clear Wave 11, but wished he had a better ice effect like the frosted version.
	</li>
	<li>
		The blue tinted target version has a better contrast print
	</li>
	<li>
		X-Factor print doesn't show up too clearly, but does have his inhibitor belt
	</li>
</ul>

<p>
	I'd probably go with the clear Wave 11, but in an ideal world would frost him up a little more (maybe a matte spray?) with an ice accessories from Wave 59

	*i searched around the board to see if it’s been brought up before (if i missed it, my b)*<br />

</p>

<p>
	i’ve been thinking about what the number would be for the minimate corner(s) of the marvel universe. for the 616 characters, maybe earth-0703 or even earth-17.11, which reference the release date for marvel minimates and 1/36 of 616.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	i suppose from there, there could be an “ultimate” minimate universe, an animated one, etc.

<p>
	or if anyone has their own designations, let’s hear ‘em!

	Haven't done this for a while. Let's talk Magneto.
</p>

<p>
	Magneto has quite a few Minimates and I genuinely didn't realize until I spent today putting together my Big Want List. I'll do my usual 3 Categories because he's had enough to justify it.
</p>

<p>
	Best Movie: I want to give it to Young Magneto from DOFP but I think I have to hand it to Future Magneto. He's not as dynamic as the young one but I love the Ian McKellen likeness so much.
</p>

<p>
	Best Alternate Costume: Boy this one is so diffi... It's Age of Apocalypse. I love Now's Black helmet and AOX's terrifying White Knight look, but Age of Apocalypse just has so many options and captures that Magneto so well. They even found a way to get his braids to come out of the helmet. Fantastic work here.
</p>

<p>
	Best Classic: Marvel vs Capcom easily for me. It has the bulky cape, the colors are perfect (Just as much as I love Metallic colors for Doom, I hate them on Magneto) and he's got a great hairpiece and expression. It's somehow both "battle rage" and "sneering racist" simultaneously.
</p>

<p>
	So what's the Multiverse's vote? Who's the best Magneto?
</p>

	I considered doing an Iron Man thread today but I wasn't feeling like evaluating 83 minimates, so Ant-Man it is!
</p>

<p>
	This one is difficult since there's a couple of really good options. Lab Attack has the classic charming helmet. Original Avengers box set makes classic Giant-Man an option. But overall, I gotta give it to Wave 44 just for the sheer amount of things you can do with him. And he's got those bright and beautiful colors.
</p>

<p>
	This does remind me that I need to put my Avengers Box Set Giant Man back together so that his classic version can appear in my collection though.
</p>

<p>

<p>I had a dream that I was in the toy store, and they had a HUGE minimates section. The first thing that caught my eye was a new box set called the Spider-Man Family. It was a 4-pack with Aunt May, Uncle Ben, and a new Peter Parker and MJ. The back of the box said that there was a variant Ghost of Uncle Ben in specially marked packs. I didn't see any there. They had the other recent box sets in stock, but nothing else new there.</p>
<p>
Most of the section was taken up by hundreds of single-packed minimates. They were all poly-bagged with a cardboard top with graphics and a peg hook. I looked through all of these, but they were mostly re-releases. The two new ones I found were an Iron Man with glow-in-the-dark parts and a Movie Professor X. </p>
<p>
The rest of the dream is fading fast, and somehow involved a rocket powered skateboard and an orphanage... so I thought I had better share the minimates part here before it faded away forever. <img src="https://www.minimatemultiverse.com/uploads/emoticons/default_tongue.png" alt=":P" srcset="https://www.minimatemultiverse.com/uploads/emoticons/tongue@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20"></p>

	Following in the vein of the other threads - what are we feeling is the best Jean?
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I find this one hard - we've had quite a few Jean, covering quite a few looks. I think there only been one clunker: the green X-Factor look - the face and the hair don't scream Jean to me.
</p>

<p>
	I'm pretty partial to the original Dark Phoenix as I love the shading. Jim Lee is the costume I grew up with. But then I also couldn't pick between the gold on Secret Invasion or the brighter green, better tampo and cool stand from MvC.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Overall I think I would go:
</p>

<ol>
	<li>
		Jim Lee
	</li>
	<li>
		MvC
	</li>
	<li>
		Secret Invasion
	</li>
</ol>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Honourable mention to OG Dark Phoenix, who technically isn't Jean anyway...

	Yeah you know what, I wanna bring this back. It's a new year, it's a new age of Minimates with the collab between Luke and Barry, and it's a new stream of Best Minimates. We've done the Hulk, so why not do the other pillar of wave one? Who was the best Daredevil minimate?
</p>

<p>
	I'll go ahead and do my three categories since it does apply enough here.
</p>

<p>
	Best Classic Red: Wave 43. I mean, I like the Best Of's arms with the clearly visible red gloves, but I like Wave 43's chest detailing even more. Shout out to Wave 1 though for making a figure so damn good that there really wasn't anything to improve for like... 9 years. <a href="https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=1374&amp;n=Daredevil" rel="external nofollow">https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=1374&amp;n=Daredevil</a>
</p>

<p>
	Best MCU: It's the SDCC one. But I do really like the Murdock under the Man in Black Daredevil. Stairwell Daredevil's accessories are also pretty badass. Weird that the two main characters of DDS2 in their main looks were only included in an SDCC pack though.  <a href="https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=2622&amp;n=Daredevil" rel="external nofollow">https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=2622&amp;n=Daredevil</a>
</p>

<p>
	Best Alternate: Oh boy this is the tough one. I love the Marvel Now costume a whole lot (wish mine didn't break because he's weirdly hard to find now). I also love Zombie DD's big fucking chest hole. I think that's one of the coolest Marvel Zombies they've ever done. (potential future Best ______ topic: Best Marvel Zombie?) But I gotta go with Yellow Daredevil from Wave 84. It has the best Murdock face, the radar sense circles, that badass billy club accessory, and you can make him into D-Man because they threw in a Wolverine mask? What a wonderful little figure. I'm glad he made it in at the end of Minimates. <a href="https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=3445&amp;n=Daredevil+Yellow" rel="external nofollow">https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=3445&amp;n=Daredevil+Yellow</a>
</p>

<p>
	Hail Ivan.

	Hulk is one of the more prolific characters for Marvel Minimates for how unchanged he usually is. But since there's enough of him to do this with, I'll do my three categories.
</p>

<p>
	Best Classic Hulk: Best of Wave 2. Bro's got it all. Perfect angry face, the big bulky open hands and big bulky feet, and the option to turn him into Puny Banner. <a href="https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=1671&amp;n=Hulk" rel="external nofollow">https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=1671&amp;n=Hulk</a>
</p>

<p>
	Best Alternate Hulk: I'm discounting Red Hulk from this because he's Ross not Banner. And as much as I want to give it to Best of Wave 3 Transforming Grey Hulk, it's just.. it's gotta be Maestro. The accessories are exceptional, the silhouette is intimidating... what more could you ask? Great minimate. He's why I bought that box set. <a href="https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=1712&amp;n=Maestro+Hulk" rel="external nofollow">https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=1712&amp;n=Maestro+Hulk</a>
</p>

<p>
	Best Movie Hulk: Gladiator Hulk. The sheer volume of detail coupled with those incredible weapons really does bring out what I'd argue is the best Hulk minimate overall. I know he's not the classic Hulk look (best movie version of a classic Hulk I'd say is the original Avengers 1 Hulk) but he's just so well designed. Setting up a Ragnarok display on my work desk with this guy at the center is why I decided to do this thread today. <a href="https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=2918&amp;n=Gladiator+Hulk" rel="external nofollow">https://minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=2918&amp;n=Gladiator+Hulk</a>

	It's Black Friday so why not pick the best minimate from our favorite black clad antihero... Wait I already did Punisher?
</p>

<p>
	SECOND favorite black clad antihero, Venom!
</p>

<p>
	I'm a huge proponent of Venom Unleashed. I love how imposing he is and how beautiful that minimate is, I love his transformation face. It's such a badass minimate. He's so good he got a direct remake for the Ultimate Universe in dark purple!
</p>

<p>
	Honorable Mention to the alt form of Venom Best Of. That first appearance look is so neat.

	Fuck it. Let's do Thor.
</p>

<p>
	It's funny to me that Minimates have almost gaslit me into thinking Thor has four circles on his costume. Turns out it's six. Wild.
</p>

<p>
	I don't think we've ever gotten an actually "Perfect" Thor. I think I can kitbash one, but I don't think one exists as is. But if I had to take an off the rack Thor and put him in my display, It'll be Heroes Return from wave 44. It's got the spinning Mjolnir accessory, the ability to display with and without beard, and a really nice big winged helmet.
</p>

<p>
	For Movie Thor, I give top prize to Dark World. About the only top prize Dark World will get. I like the gold a great deal and the chainmail arms. It also has one of the better movie Mjolnirs with the more square look than the rounded flattened Thor 1 and Avengers designs and that little bit of silver at the end.
</p>

	With the recent Godzilla crossovers, this is probably less perplexing but no less weird: Godzilla was canon to the 616 many years ago. So buy yourself a Godzilla minimate!
</p>

<p>
	Marvel loved chasing fads, which in part fueled the Master of Kung Fu and Deadly Hands series with which I'm currently preoccupied. And so it follows that they also wanted a piece of the kaiju pie with a Godzilla series, and to a lesser extent with a Shogun Warriors series, both of which were early obsessions of mine as a comic collecting neophyte.
</p>

<p>
	Looking back on these with a new lens, I was taken with the fact that what may be the <strong>greatest comic panel of all time </strong>appeared within the pages of Godzilla. Hyperbole aside, here is <strong>Dum Dum Dugan punching Godzilla in the face:</strong>

</p>

<p>
	This was all made possible by Pym particles, and Reasons. Kwud indeed! I made my own kwud, and here it is for your enjoyment:

</p>

<p>
	DOOM DEMANDS YOUR THOUGHTS.
</p>

<p>
	Doom requires that you pathetic people choose the greatest Doom there is. Though a paltry nine of Doom was ever made, Doom considers each Doom a masterpiece. Doom would know the will of the people who serve Doom. Which Doom is the Doom you find the greatest? Doom now turns the keyboard back to Lex.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thanks Doom. And yes that is my real name. Name reveal. 16 years on here and you finally have it.
</p>

<p>
	I find that the best overall Doom by design and accessories is the Marvel vs Capcom one. Does it articulate? No. But Doom doesn't need great articulation to aura farm. The cloak is massive and billowing, the face is classic Doom (though I do like the villains box set face best) and the armor pieces are beautifully chunky. He looks like he's made to backhand some dumb bastard out a window.

	Alright, <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?/profile/638-buttheadsmate/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="638" href="https://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?/profile/638-buttheadsmate/" rel="">@buttheadsmate</a> it's his turn.
</p>

<p>
	This one was a difficult one for me to choose. After <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?/profile/11687-barry/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="11687" href="https://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?/profile/11687-barry/" rel="">@Barry</a>'s explanations over in the Hits and Heartbreaks thread, it really is choosing the best of a bad situation. I think overall, the one that turned out best was Trenchcoat Thing. Love the whole vibe of this character and his sweet sunglasses.
</p>

<p>
	But of the Things that are traditional versions of the character, I give it to the last one from the Slott FF box set. I think the rock detailing turned out best on it, the head matches the body pretty well, and I love the expression. It's not perfect, none of them really are, but that one does feel like Ben.

	Wow it's been a whole like... day without a single post on Minimate Multiverse.
</p>

<p>
	Maybe this'll bring back a small spark of life.
</p>

<p>
	Which Wolverine is *THE* Wolverine?
</p>

<p>
	This is one of those characters I imagine it was hard to figure out exactly how to bring him new and exciting versions every time he needed to show up. After all, how many times can you do jeans and flannel and make it interesting? And the fact that we never got a skeleton... Actually <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?/profile/11687-barry/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="11687" href="https://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?/profile/11687-barry/" rel="">@Barry</a> was Skelerine ever an option? Also as The Creator I'd like to know which of your Wolverine designs you're proudest of.
</p>

<p>
	As usual, I'm going to do 3: one classic, one movie, and one WildCard.
</p>

<p>
	Classic Wolverine: It... it's Wave 28. Every detail was perfect: the mask, the hairpiece, the belt under the belt, the fact that he has spare hands for retracted claws, the facial expression... for me the best Wolverine by far. If I wasn't dedicated to doing those categories, the post would stop here. And paired with that Deadpool, it's honestly one of the greatest individual Minimate Two Packs ever.
</p>

<p>
	Hugh Jackman: Man this one's hard. I hate the hands on all the XMOW versions, but the one that came with Blob (with the classic jacket and giant belt buckle) otherwise looks good as hell. Bone Claw Wolverine from DOFP is also quite nice (love the bullet riddled torso) but I'm not enthusiastic about it. And the black trenchcoat is a bit plain on Suit Wolverine from The Wolverine. I think, in the end, I have to give it to the XMOW one. It's the one time that movie will be best at anything. Except maybe "Best live action Blob." By default.
</p>

<p>
	WildCard: I... it's Weapon X. Look, I love Age of Apocalypse with all my heart. Wastelands Wolverine has some cool options to make a great Old Man Logan. Brood Wolverine is *Fucking Terrifying.* WWII Wolverine's claws look great and the outfit has so many fun options. But Weapon X... now that is a masterpiece. Excellent facial expression, the helmet looks incredible, the hair is really damn good and makes him look even more unkempt and dead-eyed, he has so many tubes... It's a truly perfected rendition of such a long awaited look.

	New X-Men coming in 2025.... probably.

			No plans for new/current X-Men looks -- I think we've decided that new and fresh is not always the best way to go, in case looks turn out to be short-lived or not well-received. The next few sets are decidedly nostalgic, and the X-Men set we have planned is very 1980s. BUT it does have an obscure X-Villain in it!

<p>
	Even if it's not locked in,  it's good enough for to get excited and to start wishlisting. <br />
	The 'obscure X-Villain' clue has me hoping we might see a member the Marauders from Mutant Massacre or perhaps S'ym/N'astirh from Inferno.<br />
	What obscure 80s villain are y'all hoping to see?

	Hooooboy. I think this is the biggest one, as IIRC, this is the most made character in Minimate history.

	After Navaan's delightful Captain America post, I wanted to extend that discussion to other characters with maybe a bit less of a daunting amount of minimates. I considered Venom, but, finding his selection somewhat lacking, I went with The Punisher since, honestly, I don't think there's a single bad Punisher minimate. Which is absolutely wild.
</p>

<p>
	I think my favorite Punisher is the Thunderbolts Punisher (with the white skull side visible.) It hits all the notes I'd have for a Punisher: big white skull, trenchcoat, piles of guns, and it looks *perfect* next to a good ol fashioned Daredevil minimate.
</p>

<p>
	However I acknowledge the likely victor to be Assault Armor Punisher from War Zone. It's a striking figure with that tactical vest and the ability to load him up with just... every single gun on the goddamn planet. He's the likely candidate for Best Punisher Minimate, but for this character that's a title hard won.

	Gonna buy another Minimate set of the Clone Saga, and will have an extra Green Goblin, Ben Reilly and Kaine, if anyone wants them. I will try to hand them out, one per person, first come, first serve. Set should be here next week! No cost!

	Well until someone tells me to stop doing these, I'm going to keep making threads for this.
</p>

<p>
	Cyclops is a bit more hit or miss than Punisher and I feel like his highs don't quite reach the masterful status of characters like Captain America or Spider-Man, but he's got some solid little Minimates in there. As far as the best goes, I wanted to give it to one who has the optic blast piece, but I don't love AVX, I think the visor paint issues kills the ANAD Cyclops, and 81 needed plain arms so we could take off the jacket. Cap got them, Cyclops should too.
</p>

<p>
	Which leaves, I think, two reasonable contenders for the best. 90s and X-Factor. Both have nice alternate look accessories and both have a beautiful looking costume. I'm giving it to 90s. Having the glasses as the alt look always pleases me, he has a hairpiece for when he's not masked, and that chest strap look really is just classic Cyclops.
