Minimate compatibility thread

I keep checking Walmarts around me, but have yet to find them.  Those pieces seem like they'll fit perfectly though.

Just saw this set is coming from Lego; I think this is probably a good size for a Minimate, no?

Lovely looking set   This side of the Atlantic there's news of a re-released Corgi 1966 Batmobile . As a kid the original was my absolute favourite ever ....alongside the Corgi 007 Aston Martin .

I've waited 30+ years for this set. 

It's too expensive and the minifigures leave a little to be desired in terms of selection & number, but I *will* be buying it day one.

I'll let you know when I figure it out! It looks to be similar in scale to the Natural History Museum set which my father has at his house. Planning to bring some mates over the next time I'm there to see. My theory right now is about doubling the size and ordering extra bricks from Pick a Brick.

I suspect it'll require buying a second set... and I'm just not quite flush enough with cash to drop 1K on a lego set right now. LOL

Ok, been looking into it and found someone that had both the History Museum and X-Mansion sets in hand.

It's probably closer to needing to be triple the scale to be even close to scale with minimates...

I ordered this on midnight the moment it was released. 
I'll grab some comparison shots with both minifigures and minimates once it's built if someone doesn't beat me to it. 

 

EDIT: I'm a bit disappointed at just how much smaller it is than the Natural History Museum. In my mind, I thought they'd be about the same height.

You'll likely beat me to it. The wife and I just had our first baby 3 weeks ago so spare time to build mine will probably be non-existent for a few months.

i spent something like 6-7 months to build the avengers tower.  i literally did just one bag a week at most.  been working on the dr. strange house for over 2 months now and am about half way through.  i think i actually save money doing it this way b/c i don't buy any other legos until i'm done w/ the current one.

Managed to put a Sentinel together while the baby napped. These scale incredibly well with mates!

OMG! That's amazing and terrible. Vehicles should be compatible which is awesome but decreases the likelihood we'll get our own. Here is a standard minimate beside a factory MB character. Most importantly, they are about the same width at the shoulders and close to the same height.

I'm so embarrassed. Time for some dusting above the chaneydisplay. But as you can see, vehicles should mostly be a good fit. Well, anything with a bit of headroom.

Thanks for posting that pic! That is super encouraging. And if a minimate is in a cockpit, you could always remove the feet to adjust for the height differential. 

While I think these little Mega chubbs have their own charm, I am still firmly in the MM camp (although I am extraordinarily biased).

These vehicles aren't even out yet, and I already want more.

Actually if you remember my adventures trying to fit a pilot to my undersized Cylon Raiders, it's the butt to head height that mattered most. It looks to me like the joints are at roughly the same height and it's just the Minimate giant head that makes him taller. Removing the feet seems to me unlikely to be required or helpful.

Hopefully the MB figures will have lots of headroom in their vehicles. If it's close, one might get away with shaving a bit off the bottom of the Minimate hip piece or something. Here's hoping there's lot's of headroom and Mates fit in easily.

If it's at all encouraging, I have this set http://bricker.info/osets/MEGABLOKS/3275/ and the canopy closes fine with a Minimate inside.

Those vehicles look awesome. I wish they were ours.
