NerdyTrev Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I've never been a big customizer, but I've been working on a small batch over the last few weeks. Mostly part swaps, but there has been some alteration. Anyways, I finished up my first over the weekend: All parts swapping, except I painted the hat and modified the satchel bag to fit underneath the jacket. The whip is attached with a dab of putty. The impetus for this was, other than my obsession with Indiana Jones, noticing how the head (Master Thief from Thief of Thieves) reminded me of the Jim Steranko concept paintings from pre-production on Raiders. More to come later in the week. I will put together some more dazzling photos, as well. Quote
Trekker 42 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I genuinely can’t tell that it’s not an official Indiana Jones Minimate. Quote
NerdyTrev Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 Next, three flavors of Conan. He is depicted in these pictures pilfering jungle ruins, guest starring a disrobed Mumm-Ra as temple guardian. First, the classic Marvel Comics look, as rendered by John Buscema. The blue armor plate Buscema would infrequently put Conan in, as so in Issue #58 (the beginning in Roy Thomas' "Queen of the Black Coast" cycle). Chest block lifted from Marvel series 42's Armored Thor. Quote
NerdyTrev Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 Finally, the all-leather look worn by Arnold throughout the first movie. Almost the entire lower half is the barbarian from Pathfinders, but with the boots swiped from another Thor. Quote

Shanester Posted Friday at 07:22 PM Posted Friday at 07:22 PM Very nice work. I am a Conan fan! Quote
NerdyTrev Posted Friday at 07:30 PM Author Posted Friday at 07:30 PM Thank you again, everyone. I am, admittedly, not sold on the head I selected for Conan. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know! I was fixing to use a Wolverine head from Marvel series 72, but Howard never described Conan as having a beard. I've hit a bit of a snag with the next character on my itinerary, but I'll have some things to show off this weekend. Quote
Liney Posted Friday at 07:37 PM Posted Friday at 07:37 PM Classic and leather Conan look great. I also dig the scenery too! Quote
elhonez Posted Saturday at 02:41 AM Posted Saturday at 02:41 AM (edited) My avatar here is a Conan with a Vigo the Carpathian head. I dig your use of the Acrobat's loin cloth, it's probably time I upgraded mine. Where did you find the studded right wristband from leather conan? Edited Saturday at 02:45 AM by elhonez Quote

NerdyTrev Posted Saturday at 04:18 PM Author Posted Saturday at 04:18 PM I've begun working on my first real diorama! It's a basic back-alley, urban decay scene. Pictured for scale is my (technically) in-progress Shang-Chi. I had the idea to use this Gambit hairpiece, but I didn't like the way it sat on the head. So right now, he's rocking a Way of the Dragon look. Quote
Padrino Posted Saturday at 05:17 PM Posted Saturday at 05:17 PM that Shang-Chi is awesome! What face did you use? Quote

NerdyTrev Posted Sunday at 04:36 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:36 PM King Kills the AEW Resident Evil Showing off some completed foam diorama pieces. Slap-dash cutouts done on photoshop. Lighting isn't my strong suit, but iPhone's pre-loaded contrast and brilliance features helps! Quote
Liney Posted Sunday at 06:51 PM Posted Sunday at 06:51 PM The wall is great and the speech bubbles are fun - I'd love to see a whole story with them Quote
