Trekker 42 Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Alright, @buttheadsmate it's his turn. This one was a difficult one for me to choose. After @Barry's explanations over in the Hits and Heartbreaks thread, it really is choosing the best of a bad situation. I think overall, the one that turned out best was Trenchcoat Thing. Love the whole vibe of this character and his sweet sunglasses. But of the Things that are traditional versions of the character, I give it to the last one from the Slott FF box set. I think the rock detailing turned out best on it, the head matches the body pretty well, and I love the expression. It's not perfect, none of them really are, but that one does feel like Ben. Quote
buttheadsmate Posted October 21 Posted October 21 The Slott FF version has many good points & the 2 Wave 38 versions come so very close to perfection . I'm content with them Quote
FightTheDead118 Posted October 22 Posted October 22 As a pure representation of classic comic Thing it’s between the blue and white suit and the best of versions, but in terms of just being the most quality Thing figure, it has to be the trench-coat version Quote
cylonchaney Posted October 22 Posted October 22 The only ones I don't like are the two with the weird head pieces (Battlescarred and Powerhouse). I really didn't like that head piece. It's a bit odd but Wave 5 is my favourite. There's just something cute about him that I liked immediately. Next would be Trenchcoat Thing followed by any bulked up version with a wash applied. Quote

I actually really appreciate wave 5’s and would often head swap him and the one wearing the jumpsuit to have calm and angry Ben. I just like having the bulk given the general bulkiness of him. Quote
elhonez Posted October 22 Posted October 22 TRU 15 "Transforming" Thing w/ W37's classic pelvis. Honorable Mention: Trenchcoat Thing. Interestingly I was never a fan of the washes. With the exception of what we're calling Slott-Thing, there was too much "collateral damage" with the applications. And for Slott I didn't like the sort of desaturated orange that was used. Additionally, being a classicist, I need Thing to be in his black-and-blue trunks. Trenchcoat has a wash, but I just love that version of the character. Quote
Shanester Posted October 22 Posted October 22 I don't really have a favorite Thing, but that Trench Coat version is great. Quote

I'm content with them I dream of a Ben Grimm Minimate with raindrops on roses .... another with whiskers on kittens ....another with bright copper kettles & warm woolen mittens . They could have been sold in brown paper packages tied up with string . These are a few of my favourite Things . -baronvontrappsmate Edited October 22 by buttheadsmate Quote
cylonchaney Posted October 23 Posted October 23 The Fine Young Cannibals had a favourite, before it disappeared. Quote
WookieFodder Posted October 28 Posted October 28 I like the Best of one the best. I would like an updated Number 4 with the bulked up pieces but best I can hope for is Future Foundation Quote
