I AM SO EXCITED FOR PREDATOR BADLANDS AAAAA

I'm a bit of a curmudgeon on this one. 

The Predator's design really rubs me the wrong way as well. It's trying too hard. They're trying to signal "young and inexperienced," but they're referencing like an angsty teenager. He looks like a drummer from a nu metal band. And from a nerdy standpoint, since when do the Yautja have their thingies growing from the top of their skull, instead of the sides? I guess they really needed a widow's peak to complete the look.

If he were a minimate, he'd need a variant name, right? Like "water emerge" Predator? This is "fuck you, dad!" Predator.

To be fair, I used to dis Kanan Jarus from Rebels as looking like a grunge band bass player. Who probably got kicked out of Mace Windu's prog rock side project for taking too many solos. And he ended up being an okay character.

But then we'd never have gotten The Kanan Jarus Project hits "Eye in the Coruscant Sky" and "Don't Answer Me (I can sense it with the force)".  I used to sometimes confuse them with Electric Lightsaber Orchestra.  

That Predator is also wearing a lot of clothes. Viking Cosplay Predator might be another name for this variant.

I keep up to speed with most 'stuff' by browsing my SFX magazine , it doesn't make me any sort of expert but I enjoy seeing what's on the horizon  .  I've just been looking at the article (SFX) on Badlands & Elle Fanning's performance seems half-decent .

It's going to suck so bad!!!!

Palpatine would easily turn me to the dark side focusing on the hate I feel for this movie. They really should have stopped after the first one.

I don't know if it's marketing spin or truth but media seems to be saying the movie had a great opening weekend.

I still think it looks like a piece of crap not worth even me giving it a chance. But kudos to the producers if they have a hit.

He absolutely is "Fuck You, Dad" Predator.

I liked this movie. Fun hero, lackluster villain, but the final battle is badass and had me cackling as to what it was he actually had to fight.

"Accidentally prophetic" will probably be my epitaph. 

I am cautiously optimistic for this movie now... Dan Trachtenberg has had a pretty good TracktenRecord.

I'll say I don't think this is as good as Prey, but yeah Trachtenberg has this going in a good direction. Between this and Alien Romulus, I think we're in the right direction for this XenoPredator universe. Which now includes another famous alien if you check the trophy case in this one.

This movie did quite a bit of cool things to expand the Predator universe and lore, but was also sometimes just goofy and just not very serious at times. Elle was great in the parts she played, but she didnt behave like any other synth in the other movies. She acted like a teenager through most of it. The little alien sidekick was unnecessary in my opinion also. My only other real complaint was his design. They made him too human looking in my opinion. Having his dreads on top of his head and pulled back was one reason for that. His father looked bad ass though and closer to the Yautja look that we all love,

The language they came up for the Yautja was fantastic. The main storyline of him going off to prove himself was also great. The planet he went to was nothing but danger at every step and it was fun watching him deal with the unknown. The fight/action scenes were very well done also. There was enough new things in the movie for me to enjoy it. It definitely was better than The Predator. I had high hopes for that movie and was severely disappointed.

So bad in so many ways.

I'll say this for it. I watched all the way to the end, so right there, could have been worse. It had a couple of moments. But not the kind of movie I'm looking for from this franchise. And I hate the design of the main character.

It was definitely better than the one with the kid though. LOL
