Minimate Checklists

Recently I decided to create a complete checklist of Marvel Movie Minimates since I'm trying to make a complete collection of them. Given that, with generous help from Ivan (Hail) and a bit of consultation with Luke, I now have this rather complete document, I thought I should share it with the community and also create a thread where, if anyone else created checklists, we could share more or post completed versions to see where everyone's collections stand.

I'll post mine when, well, I've actually finished checking everything off and when a couple of orders come in.

That's very useful    

When I think back I can recall a period when (occasionally) TRU versions of certain characters were subtly different from their LCS versions .  Not that it really matters but I'm convinced I'm right . It opened up a theory that there were maybe 2 different factories .

There were two I can think of immediately. One made it into the checklist, the other... Might have to revise. Whoops. Weirdly enough they were both in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. TRU had a neutral expression Green Goblin and a translucent Electro. LCS had a smiling Goblin and a metallic Electro. 

 

Honestly the most movie accurate look would be the Metallic electro with the accessories of the translucent one. Then take that metallic Electro base and give it to Aquaman.

Ol' guy's memory recalls a different - coloured (parts) War Machine but I just can't recall now .  

it's good that you have taken the effort to compile a list for completion . Happiness is completion . Completism is perhaps...er... different.

I made a Marvel release spreadsheet, divided into sections like numbered waves, box sets, TRU, etc. I think it needs to be cleaned up a little, but if y'all remind me this weekend I may have time to dupe it and make a copy available. But Ivan's site is gold, so it may be superfluous, depending on how you like to see the lists structured.

i seem to recall the Iron Man 3 Mark 42 had a different shine LCS vs Toys R Us.  but i could have just been fishing for an excuse to buy 2.

I just wanted something printable and filtered specifically to moviemates.

Yep! That did make it on the list.

I'm not seeing this one on the Database, but Ivan could be fallible (find that hard to believe though). He was my primary source of course.

Thank you! I look forward to seeing yours. I was considering making one targeted at like... different Marvel comics categories (Spidey, Avengers, Cosmic, FF, X-Men... you get the idea) but decided that was a bit ambitious for now.

 

Oh and everyone, feel free to point out mistakes if you find them. I'll update and fix. I already caught the Two Vultures No Happy typo and have added a new version to address it.

 

Also @buttheadsmate could you be thinking of the slightly different hued Sub Ultrons? The one packed with Hawkeye is a paler blue than the one from the blind bags.

I'm on vacation at the moment ...hence my continual presence online !   I'm pretty sure that the whole 'different versions'  theory was aired , I'll trawl the threads .

I too vaguely remember this conspiracy. I know the Database calls out Ultron specifically and calls out variations in the tampo process. 

But the more we talk the more I remember it being a lighter blue IM2 War Machine that started a whole thing about variations in Minimate creation.

Small update, I did it. I completed the collection. I now have every Marvel Movie Minimate ever released. 

Now does anyone want to sell me the Ghost Rider Prototypes?

Yeah that tracks. I’m more than okay not having them honestly. I just think it would be really funny to have every Marvel Movie Minimate produced and unproduced.

Well, I have been toying with the idea of selling some things, but I still need to decide exactly what those things are.  Also, the means of doing it.  My last big eBay sale of items in my personal collection (non MM-related) burnt me out big time as people now expect Amazon-levels of service from what used to just be an online garage sale.

I have a lot of test shots/protos, paint tests, resin parts/accessories, unreleased.  Probably about 20% of those came off Ebay.  The rest are pick ups along the way.  I started collecting Minimates at the beginning, so I have been grinding the whole time.

Partner with Luke? He does occasionally pull together auctions and Luke’s is kinda *the* Minimate store. It’s where people like us would look for special Minimate items.

I am the last person that you should heed advice from , as a voracious devourer of anything 'Minimate I would be all over anything that you might decide to part with & add it to my collection .     

That said .... "having shown my hand"  ....I would think long & hard about parting with anything until the dust has completely settled around the Diamond debacle .  You obviously have a totally unique collection of 'stuff'.   Add to the equation that you had an enormous part in creating it & my mind starts to blow

Yes, there's a number of reasons why I haven't done it yet.  I wouldn't want to regret it in some form or another.

My paint masters are not catalogued in the same way the production samples were as they were obtained many years after their usefulness.  They're sorted and stored well, they're just not on a spreadsheet anywhere.  I'd have to go spelunking to see if I have him, which is a bit of an undertaking.
