Hello! What vehicles/playsets would you recommend to acquire that are the same scale as a Minimate figure?

Hello and good day!,

I wanted to ask what vehicles/playsets would you recommend acquiring that are the same scale as a Minimate figure? The prices of official minimate vehicles are a bit too much for me at the moment, and I wanted to hear other peoples thoughts regarding if there are any other building block sets or vehicles that scale correctly for a minimate figure. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I like to keep a minimate in my pocket at the two dollar store/charity shop/knockoff import place w/e specifically to assess this on the fly but never go through with it

Also, Lego and Mega Construx sets often work or can often be modified to fit mates. Make walls one row of blocks taller if needed.

Playmobil kids accessories are almost perfectly sized for Mates. Playmobil horses are oversized but they look good enough to me.

I've been thinking about modelling some mate sized Lego doors and windows, one block taller than the current ones.

Tamiya also have some 1/35 scale models including some military bikes that miiiight be minimate scale

The motorcycle is the one vehicle that was not designed specifically for Minimates. I think you'd have to scale it to about 60% if I remember correctly. It's also a statue. The wheels don't move. The handlebars don't turn. It's in my plans to make a more functional bike at some point. But I've really not been working on vehicles for a while. I hope to have time to get back to them soon.

I posted another bike in my custom figures thread that poses pretty well with Mates. But it's not my design. It's really nice.

I mostly use Hot Wheels motorcycles, they skew a little small, but they have a variety of mopeds, street bikes and even go-karts that are pretty close. I'll try to upload pictures.

i got the hot wheels deadpool scooter.  works perfect!  its a repaint of the one @DSTZach posted above

sometimes i would see diecast cars and motorcycles (not hot wheels?) at walgreens but i was never sure of the scale

 

the hot wheels motorcycles look pretty fun though, might see what i can find!

Aren’t you supposed to carry a Minimate in your pocket at all times to compare with things to check for scale? I thought that was the Law.

i’m a bit of an outlaw! 🤠

lol but it’s probably because i wasn’t really in my diorama/pics era yet

 

also, i’m not sure i would be able to bring just one figure, wouldn’t want anyone to feel left out 🙃

I always do a simple Spider-Man. They made so many of him that if I lose him I can find another and he’s a base body so he’s a perfect example of how things will scale.

I did something similar for my other creative stuff - printed out some life size front and side photos, laminated them and keep them in a card envelop in my backpack for when I'm out and about, as they are considerably bigger than a minimate!
