As a geek child of the 80's I do wonder how long our generation can keep a stanglehold on the toy aisle.  I keep expecting 90s/2000s nostalgia to take over, but the 80s are sticky for toys.

That is a good damn question because I for one would enjoy some high end Pokemon collectables.

I am glad I held on to the Kubrick Statue of Liberty ruins from their POTA run.  I knew it would look cool with POTA Minimates.

That is a classy little piece   I'm currently looking for the biggest Lady Liberty 3D version of this that is available ...looking but not really finding !

I'd love that although I'm not absolutely sure that it is necessary to have it in the Minimate style .....then again that's not my choice is it ?

Ghostbusters TRU Wave 4 gives us Lady Liberty in Minimate style ....just saying .

I watched the POTA movie again very recently . I've also been streaming the end sequence several times over the last few days & it becomes more & more poignant , especially in the times we live in .   I visited New York in the late 80's & marvelled at the Statue of Liberty from my 'Empire State' viewpoint , unforgettable .

If you hit a brick wall, I know some guys here that can likely pull it off.  Maybe even in a "block figure" way.

EDIT: nice work Cylon!

I'm a little bit shocked that we managed to get Planet of the Apes minimates before a 4K disc of the original film, but this is a real dream come true for me!

I'm hopeful we can get at least a little representation from some of the other movies. In particular, I would be all in on a "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes" set of four with prison jumpsuit Caesar and Ricardo Montalban. Maybe the big gorilla from that film, or Caesar's chimp girl friend.

Gosh, an entire garrison of Gorilla soldiers headed off by General Ursus in his huge, impractical headpiece would look magnificent! Maybe two or three mutant acolytes from "Beneath," Cornelius and Zira from "Escape" in their high society garb.

Of course, the biggest missing piece from this set is Nova! She could easily be used to fill out a "Beneath" set with General Ursus, and some mutants.

Just wanted to say that this is a property that will bring me back. I've often said that my love of Minimates is a result of my love of Mego action figures, both with so many licenses in the same scale and format. Planet of the Apes was one of those IPs and I've been waiting patiently for this franchise to be Minimate'd for decades. I just want to reenact that one time the crew of the Enterprise had to go back in time to get help from Batman and Spider-Man but when they went back to the future, they ended up on the Planet of the Apes.

I hope I'm not jinxing anything.

Same! I still have my original Superman, Captain Marvel, and Aquaman from back in the mid-70’s. Absolutely the same vibes from Minimates!

Preorders are up for this set here. As I mentioned in the New FF thread, I'm not sure if these will get made or not, but we are moving forward with our order. As with any of our preorders, if this is cancelled, we will issue refunds.
