And if I did not give you a Diamond sales e-mail to reach out to that could help you, back when you made the exclusive comments here, I further apologize. BUT I don't think they would have sold a bespoke exclusive set to an untested retailer with (as far as I know?) no sales outlet. Especially since UK sales have been traditionally slow. (And don't ask how the Logan and Deadpool sets made it to UK discount stores, I am still not sure how that happened.) I'm hoping Minimates survive in some form, under someone's stewardship, we'll have to see. SDCCons were great experiences for me &, despite my 'chip on my shoulder' moment, I loved them . I even 'enjoyed' the earthquake that San Diego encountered after the 2008 Con ....5.4 ! Great memories . Zach , if you didn't know, then please know that I have total respect for you & the way you always steadfastly defend DST's corner . We clash publicly but that in my opinion is the whole point of a forum. I may also have perceived that we often share the same Minimate frustrations ? Quote
buttheadsmate Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Thank you for the good wishes & forgive my derailment of the thread. Proper News; Bleedingcool.com is my source & once again I have no affiliation ...... Briefly : There will be an auction of Diamond Comic Distributor's assets on March 24th 2025 in NYC (Raymond James & Associates ) with a bid deadline of March 19th & a sale objection deadline March 14th . In a nutshell if you're bidding to buy Diamond select Toys you have to register your intention by March 19th & you or your representative must be at the auction on March 24th ! Quote

buttheadsmate Posted February 19 Posted February 19 When I was a Minimate-fan I spake as a MM-fan ,I understood as a MM-fan , I thought as a MM-fan : But if I became a 'business-man' , I would need to put away MM-fan things . with sincere apologies to the Apostle Paul - (1 Corinthians 13) How much did I offer ? Regards the purchaser of Diamond Select Toys ? That deal will have already been done & I'll be staggered if I'm wrong . Quote

Padrino Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Wishing everyone at DST good luck tomorrow with the sale Quote
buttheadsmate Posted March 25 Posted March 25 The auction stretched into a second day (March 25) so, as yet, no outcome . Quote
nandoninny Posted March 25 Posted March 25 https://bleedingcool.com/comics/alliance-entertainment-buys-diamond-comic-distributors/#google_vignette no idea what this really boils down to but at least it sounds like it was bought by someone who appreciates the market already. Quote

luke314pi Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I see this as good news - Alliance Entertainment is a large company that operates similarly to Diamond. They also paid more than expected, which to me means that they want to develop the brands, and not just strip it for parts. That kind of investment suggests they see real potential in what Diamond has built, including the specialty market. Quote

SCW Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Hopefully it's good news. I'd be curious to hear what the general feeling was. Zach has been speaking about the sale of DST as if they had a pretty good indication on who was buying. Despite the appearance, this wasn't like an auction on Storage Wars, there have likely been a few key players kicking the tires for a while and doing their due diligence. Hopefully they give Diamond the support they need and also reinvigorate the business and Minimates in particular! Quote
