Why would anyone think to do a Thor vs. Wrecking Crew set - a set that is already perfectly rationed and reasoned to exactly 5 figures - and then decide "nah, let's take Thunderball out and put him in a Spider-Man set".

Idk, someone who wants more characters and considers Absorbing Man a member of the crew. If you want to get technical though,

Current members

  • Wrecker (Dirk Garthwaite) — The team's leader wields an indestructible crowbar with magical properties. He both hates and fears Thor.
  • Bulldozer I (Henry Camp) — Bulldozer I has an armored metal helmet and fights by ramming his victims head-first.
  • Piledriver (Brian Philip Calusky) — Piledriver fights with his oversized pile-driving fists.
  • Thunderball (Dr. Eliot Franklin) — Thunderball is the thinker of the team and wields a huge demolition ball on a chain.

Former member

  • Excavator (Ricky Calusky) — The teenage son of Piledriver and a temporary member. The Excavator wielded an enchanted shovel that broke in his very first battle when he smashed it over Molly Hayes' head (which only irritated her).
  • Bulldozer II (Marci Camp) — The daughter of Henry Camp, the original Bulldozer, who inherited the villain's powers as well as his training. She now works alongside her father.
  • Demolisher (real name unknown) - A female mercenary who filled in for Thunderball as a member of the Wrecking Crew when they were working on a job for Mayor Wilson Fisk.

Thunderball could be placed in a Spider-Man set, since there's precedent of him being a solo operator against the Web-Head.

The Wrecker could exist by himself in a classic Thor set with other 60s-era Thor characters like Absorbing Man, Enchantress/Executioner, King Cobra, Radioactive Man, etc.

Then Bulldozer and Piledriver could either be in a Masters of Evil vs Avengers set (think the "Under Siege" era) or maybe split across a series of Secret Wars sets?

Of course, Thor vs Wrecking Crew is a much more efficient way to get the team, but this way seems more fun and gets us even more potential for new/improved characters!

Obviously, Thunderball will be in the inevitable Damage Control box set, since the first time I ever laid eyes on the character was when he stopped by to visit D.C.'s lost and found. (He lost his wrecking ball.)

NOT Cardiac, sadly. But the anti-hero has never had a figure EVER, not just in Minimates, if I know my toy history, which I think I do.

Is the preorder still happening @DSTZach

If this is Nightwatch, I’ll eat my hat.

In a good way, of course.

Solo has been produced as a 'Pop' & Nightwatch has been produced as an 'Heroclix'  .

The Gibbon .

I will concede on the Nightwatch heroclix, but green Deadpool does not a Solo make.

My clues from the first page still remain true. And the set is from a fairly well known comic story.

As much as I want this new set to be all about the Slingers (And hey, it COULD fit, just saying)

I think it'll be a Return of the Sinister Six set with a be-suited Doc Ock, Vulture, Sandman, and Chance [anti-hero, never had a toy, fun weird design].  Here's hoping that Spidey will have some kind of battle damage.
