Another one where most can probably guess the character without any stickers or accessories.

I made him because I found a bike I thought I'd be able to scale down but it didn't work out so well. I think I'm going to make my own. It was fun trying anyway. Also, like DST, I like to re-use already made parts. In this case it's my SM Noir chest again. :)

Whoa!!! That's so cool! Please post as you get the bike working, I'm loving this idea.

It's stalled. A bunch of parts are too small to print well at this scale so I'm giving up. The handlebars fell apart just from looking at them too hard. :) I had scaled the original model to 45% to fit a Minimate and it wasn't made to print at that scale. I'm pretty happy with my GR though.

I'm going to make my own version eventually but may move back to other projects for now.

I'll probably take the motorcycle "statue" I already released and make the wheels and fork turnable. Maybe add some detail. Or, at least, I can re-use some of the work from that one anyway.

It turns it that it may just be the handlebars that are a problem. I'm going to try to reprint them on their own and see if it comes out a little better. Or I may make my own for Minimate scale. All in all I'm thinking this scaled down not too badly so far.

This is all just friction fit for these photos. Some parts need clean up and gluing.

He'll look good beside it. But it's too wide to straddle. I may still end up making my own. :)

For anyone interested in making one of your own, the wheels spin, the forks turn, and there is a clip on kickstand. Scaled to 45%. Found here: https://www.printables.com/model/191487-harley-davidson-custom-fat-boy-style

Thanks everyone!

If only he could actually ride it though. To be very clear, this is not my design. Just another one I stumbled across.

I do have a motorbike design but it's a very basic copy of one I found previously and is basically a statue. But a Minimate can sit on mine. I think I'm going to do another with spinning wheels, turnable fork, and more detail. But this one was a fun print / build for sure.

I got myself a new 3d printer and re-made Ferro to take advantage of some new features it has. The main one being the ability to swap out filiments automatically while printing. On the left is my previous version and on the right the new one. Of note:

  1. Better print quality
  2. Found some Olive coloured filament. Better uniform colour
  3. To make the boots, I had to split the shin into two pieces and print them in separate colours, then glue the pieces together. Now it just printed the bottom in black and the upper in Olive, changing automatically at the right time. The bottom of the forearm is similarly black to represent the wrist portion of the gloves.  The upper arm is actually a 3 colour print. Previously the sleeve was done with poorly colour matched Sharpie.

What did you go with for your new 3d printer? I am going to break down and buy one one of these days. Is there a minimate file anywhere online? That would be my first step in getting before I start creating my own parts and weapons for minimates.

I went with this one. https://bambulab.com/en-ca/x1

I have several printers already that are cheap ones I tinker with to get good prints out of them. But I decided it was time to have one that just works. :) The multi-colour thing is kind of fun too. Plus there was a flash sale so I got a good price. I also bought a finer nozzle for it but have not yet installed it as I have some larger things I want to print first. A smaller nozzle will help printing details but slows down your print time. Better suited to small Minimate sized stuff.

I would note that we are in a phase where there is renewed competitive innovation in the home 3d printing industry. Just after I bought, I saw another one that looked really interesting. And there is an active battle to dethrone bambu labs as the current darling.

There are a couple of paid Minimate models floating around out there these days. I've never heard of anyone successfully printing one though. For successfully printed models, I only know of me, Ivan, and that guy that posted a couple of amazing ones here (Daveypenn - something like that). It's a lot of work to design a working block figure model so, like others, I'm not keen to share mine. I have put up most of my accessories and vehicles though.

You can find my stuff that I've shared here. https://www.printables.com/@JustSomeGuy_1140479/models If I've forgotten to share one of my creations that you're interested in, just let me know and I'll put it up. Except for my base block figure.

Someone from the Multiverse claimed to have downloaded this one: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/customizable-minimate but said the parts didn't fit together properly, once printed.

This one is more recent. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/minimates-base-model-action-figure-mini-blank It looks pretty good to me except the elbow joint is going to be incredibly weak when printed at Minimate scale and the shoulder looks like it won't have that much articulation and possible attachment issues. I'll be very surprised if anyone can print and assemble that elbow without breaking it.

One thing I would suggest, is never pay someone for a "3d printable" model that doesn't show an example print. Many people design stuff without actually printing it and then it doesn't work. Like I suspect that elbow joint in model 2. Model 1 does not show an assembled printed Mate. People steal photos too. The first guy was using a bunch of Ivan's photos until I let Ivan know. :) The best case is to see "makes" on the site you're downloading from. Most of the model sites have a thing where you can post photos of your "make" of the model. If the community has downloaded that model and successfully printed, it's probably good. Please post makes if you get into the hobby. It makes me really happy to see someone has printed one of my designs.

Good luck. I'd love to see more people designing for Minimates and printing figures or accessories.

So excited. Tomorrow we find out how detailed the colour changing feature of my new printer can do. I suppose I'll have to make two of them. :)

To be clear, the new printer can change colour of plastic so I can print that torso with black and white plastic, hopefully no painting required. I can do up to four different colours in one part. The lower legs will use blue, black, and white.

The blue is darker than I wanted. But the lighter blue plastic I had was old and brittle and kept breaking in the colour changing hardware. I put a chest sticker on one but it didn't look right. I'll have to make one custom for these guys if I want them to have muscles. I might go with the uniform on the right and just leave it like that. The guys on the left need some detail if I'm going to continue down that road. I'm quite pleased with the results of my first effort at multi-colour printing though.

The base face I modified was Wizard from our decals thread. I don't want to search through the whole thread to figure out who to credit but my gut says Dave based on the art style. If I stumble across who it was, I'll edit the thread. In any case, thanks!

edit: Wizard face I modified for Maulers was a Liney creation. Thanks Liney!!

As usual, looks better in person. LOL These are multi-material prints. No paint. I wonder if Ivan bought the same printer as I did? (Bambu Labs X1 Carbon)

My latest Invincible creations were a gift for a buddy who is collecting my mail and watering my plants while I'm away on vacation. He collected his gift on his first visit and made a little AI animation. Thought I'd share as I find this amazing!
