Ivan Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Sweet! 3: Compiling! Not a property I would have expected to see toys of, but nice nonetheless. I'll leave the other answers empty in case this jogs a memory loose. Quote
elhonez Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 That makes me think Silicon Valley or Office Space. But I've not seen the former, at all, nor the latter for some time. Quote
DSTZach Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 The IT Crowd? A show I have not seen in a while, either. Quote

But if something I've made tickles your fancy, let's talk about sending you a prize. LOL Quote

cylonchaney Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 xkcd (xkcd.com) is a daily web comic. The creator has a science background and the humour is very nerdy. But the creator has an incredible mind and has done some epic work. He has a Youtube channel called What If? that's good for a laugh or two as well. Recurring characters include Black Hat and White Hat. Quote
cylonchaney Posted January 4, 2025 Author Posted January 4, 2025 (edited) I wanted to get this up as a community Christmas present but just didn't make it. Â Â Â We have my free crossed-leg hip design on a crappy Stan Lee 3d print. Mixed and matched with a factory mate. You can get it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6899719. Ivan is credited as I straight up ripped off his idea. Â Also, I've just started on a new round of 3d printed mates. There will be accessories coming. Â Happy 2025 everyone! cylonchaney Posted June 29, 2025 Author Posted June 29, 2025 If you want something done, sometimes you gotta do it yourself. Only 98 more to go. LOL I think my helmet still needs some work but it's a start.   Quote
Navaan Posted June 29, 2025 Posted June 29, 2025 That Stinger is still absolutely gorgeous, but well done!! Quote
cylonchaney Posted July 1, 2025 Author Posted July 1, 2025 Thanks everyone! Later that day ... Â Â Slaughter is my first wrap around based on Luke's template. Thanks Luke! I'm going to redo his face. I'm fairly happy for the first attempt though. Quote
Navaan Posted July 1, 2025 Posted July 1, 2025 Honestly, that Slaughter face kinda works. Like, it fits with him. If anything, only suggestion I could make is move his mouth and eyes down a few hairs, but the angle could be skewing my view of it, but I would happily pay for that, I think it looks great, way better than I could do! cylonchaney Posted July 4, 2025 Author Posted July 4, 2025 Guns guns guns! Â I didn't think my printers would have the fidelity to print a Minimate sized handgun. But making a Cobra army, I had to try. Came out surprisingly well. Slaughter stumbles upon the Cobra trooper cloning facility: Â Â Quote
Navaan Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 I didn't realize the bottom part was a separate mask. That's ingenious. I'm not exactly knowledgeable on 3D printing, are you saying that there are other printers that may be able to print smaller items at different capacity? That makes sense, I just never thought to think about that. Quote

Not to detract from Cylon's creations with a tangent, but are folks snagging the template then drawing the character on the template and printing off the stickers? Quote

Honestly, you should start. I used to think I could never do anything like the amazing customizers on this board. I still don't when it comes to 2d art but slowly improving. It's good for your mind and soul to pick up hobbies and challenges that you are not good at.  It feels really good when your skills improve. Even if you think you'll never be "good". Once you have even a little skill, you'll be able to start creating characters that only you want. Your first custom, no matter how crappy, feels good. That makes sense, I just never thought to think about that. There are 3d printers ranging in price from $100 to $10 000+. Various materials can be used an quality varies greatly. I have a number of them but they are all very cheap low end machines. It is another hobby of mine to try to mod and tune low end machines to perform as higher end ones. One could just buy a better quality printer and fiddle much less. On 7/4/2025 at 12:31 PM, thereasonsy said: I’ve become OBSESSED with that template of Luke’s. Get ready, it’s addictive. That's the whole point of it. For a lot of customs, you can just print on a square the same size as the chest front (and/ or back). Sometimes you need better coverage and Luke's wrap around template has your back. Slaughter was my first time to need it. I'm also pleased that it perfectly fit my Blockman torso. I finally named my figure. Very original and creative name eh? LOL 17 hours ago, elhonez said: I love everything about this post. Excellent work, @cylonchaney!! I like to think that Bodicker survived, changed his ways, and moved to Wisconsin to start a family.  One of the greatest bad guy roles and performances ever IMHO. PS Kurtwood Smith also played the President of the Federation in Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country. They're getting holsters now.  Edited July 6, 2025 by cylonchaney Quote
