Idk if this has already been speculated on, but were we to get a 2nd box set, Duke, Roadblock, Destro, and Baroness would surely be the lineup right?

that's my guess

i would think flint/lady jaye after that w/ zartan and firefly.  but what do i know?

sucks b/c i'm dying to see how far they can take this line.

i already had a dream about a tiger force box set

Welcome to my world. ?

Given the responses I've been reading, it seems this line could go on for quite some time. I'd just like to see a cardback that shows upcoming designs, a willingness on DST's part to take the line farther than they did with The Munsters or Lost in Space.

I also couldn't help noticing the figure designs are based on the comic. Looks like someone may have made the conscious decision to make GI Joe blend in with the other comic-based lines.

If we get army builder packs; I'm hoping they throw in a member of each faction in the pack. Greenshirt vs. Cobra Trooper, Steel Brigade vs. Crimson Guard, etc. Not keen on the idea of just one faction in each pack since then one side becomes bigger than the other collection wise.

I'm cool with the Joes being outnumbered.  I wasn't a troop builder as a kid so I always had to have a few Joes take down my entire Cobra force to make it look heroic.

as much diversity as there were with the joes i don't think we need an army builder.

maybe something like aliens where almost each human came with an alien -- each joe 2 pack can come with a cobra trooper and the trooper just gets repeated a bunch.  not sure how walgreens (if that will be the only place to get 2 packs) will feel about army builders though - they may see it as an inferior product but at the same time it could keep overhead costs down.

but what do i know -- i'm just envisioning what i want to see.....

in my head that would be firefly with a bunch of alley vipers

I could deal with that as long as the joe in each pack is different. I just don't want ta situation where I have get 10  Chuckles, Quickkick, Alpine etc. just so I can have 10 Cobra Troopers. I can deal with 10 Greenshirts to get those 10 Cobra Troopers.

Considering these are being sold through the specialty market, I'm envisioning 4-packs that come with one army-builder that Luke's Toy Store can sell as 2-packs or 4-packs, similar to what happened with Multiple Man. DST simply made more figures for Luke and altered the existing packaging. That could work here.

I would love army builder box sets of 4. I don't see any way around them being mostly Cobra, but that's fine by me.

Vipers (all varieties), Troopers, BATs, Crimson Guard, Python Patrol, Iron Grenadier, Eels...

I would buy the EFF out of this.  Also I agree get something Luke can Army Build!

I'd love to see Army builders with standard green shirt Joe's with 3 Cobra troops rounding it out.  Crimson Guard, Cobra Troopers, Vipers.   It doesn't matter as long as they give me 3 heads (blond beard, black beard and no beard) for the green shirts so I can have Grunt, Breaker, and Rock 'n Roll.

This line has tons of army builders, there is no reason not to make army builder packs. Even if it's 1 Cobra Trooper and 1 Viper, or 1 Officer and 1 (Insert 100 other Cobra ranks) etc. You get the idea. There is ZERO reason to pack Duke with a Trooper.

Also hopefully the impending disaster failure of a Snake-Eyes movie better not screw these Minimates up. That movie will bomb, but hopefully this line can still thrive. Previous GI Joe movie bombs have screwed up other Joe lines.

Except that's how Luke was able to offer Multiple Man sets.

Personally, I'd prefer 4-packs of troops but if DST doesn't have confidence that such a 4-pack would sell to retail (not to collectors, to retail) then the next best thing is to offer a troop in a set with characters that will sell and let Luke offer that figure as an army-builder.

im all for a troop builder boxset of 4 different cobras, but when i comes to the joes i never really got the need for the generic green shirt troopers, as the whole idea of the joe team is that it is made up off unique specialists.

Not comparable, IMO.

They could easily pack an army builder with another army builder at retail.

Packing them with name characters is a mistake.

EDIT:

I should note, I was referring to 2 packs, not 4 packs. But honestly even with 4 packs, Joe army builders are popular enough to support themselves. Anyone who thinks otherwise, doesn't understand the Joe property. DST should make sure not to make that mistake. Nothing annoyed Joe collectors more than having to purchase multiple Dukes and Snake-Eyes to army build. Hasbro eventually got that point and started packing army builders together.

?  Literally everything is comparable. [/pet peeve]

DST's offering 4-packs. I'm just trying to be realistic.

Luke's was (successfully!) able to offer army-builders in the same packaging as what was offered through specialty because it was cost effective. Likewise, it's not hard to imagine a Joe 4-pack with three named characters and a troop that could be easily turned into a 4-pack of the same troop to be sold as an exclusive available online for preorder.

Seems like a win-win-win to me.

I tend to agree.  I want a multitude of generic bad guys for my named heroes to battle! Then again, I'm not a Joe fan. This is just the play pattern I've lived with for over half a century now.

It’s why I buy Age of Ultron drones every time I make a Minimate purchase online if they’re available.
The tide continues to turn against the Avengers in that display.

Not enough. I keep eyeing that case that Menagerie has so I can get Strucker and Mark One Ultron too. Just not willing to spend that yet.
I’ll see about grabbing one when I get home from work.

I'm the same way with xenomorphs from Aliens. I also managed to find a purpose for all those Iron Legion 'mates I got stuck with when I bought the AoU counter display. (Turns out Tony had some designed for special missions, not just crowd control! ? )

We'll see whether or not my new openness is going to be a good idea or not .

I have an Elf Spock army which, when decanted from their life-support baggies, are ready to take on just about anybody "boldly going" .  How big is the army ?  .....er...numerous
